Broadbanding of corrugated conical horns is investigated with the ring-loaded corrugated circular waveguide (RCWG) structure devised by the authors. The useful frequency bandwidth in which the corrugated horn is effective for the improvement of antenna properties is limited by the frequency characteristics of the horn-aperture field and input VSWR of the horn. By the precise analysis of the RCWG, the maximum frequency range in which the desirable field is obtained is much wider than that in the conventional corrugated circular waveguide, and is achieved almost independent of ring thickness, when ring width is about 20 percent of slot depth. The characteristic impedance of the RCWG is nearly equal to that of the homogeneous circular waveguide when ring thickness becomes large. Therefore, a good transformer between the RCWG and the homogeneous circular waveguide is achieved by increasing ring thickness from the RCWG toward the homogeneous waveguide. From the above investigations, it is found that in the ring-loaded corrugated horn, the useful bandwidth is 1.35 times broader than that in the conventional corrugated horn. The theoretical results are verified by the experimental results.  相似文献

An analysis of a slot-coupled T-junction consisting of a circular to rectangular waveguide is presented. The Galerkin method of moments with entire domain sinusoidal basis functions is used to solve the slot aperture electric field integral equations taking into account finite wall thickness. The slot coupler characteristics are deduced, including resonant length and dominant mode scattering. The theoretical results on the magnitude of the s-parameters are compared with experimental results. The effect of the variation of diameter of the circular waveguide as well as the width of the slot on the resonant length of the slot is also studied.  相似文献

The field theory approach is used to study leaky-wave propagation in a rectangular waveguide with long nonresonant slots in the narrow walls. Radiation from the slots is confined by parallel plates which act as transmission lines guiding the energy away from the slots. The complex dispersion equations for TE waves are examined and solved using an iterative numerical technique. Propagation characteristics both in the axial and transverse directions are presented, along with the electric field distribution and power flow. Restrictions on the analysis and on the power-handling capacity imposed by slot width also are described. Measurements of the phase characteristics of the dominant mode are in good agreement with theoretical values.  相似文献

基于基片集成波导技术与标准印刷电路板工艺,实现了圆极化、低副瓣的平面缝隙天线阵列.辐射单元采用基片集成波导项层匹配缝隙对结构,行波式圆极化单元.辐射缝隙经过改进,单个辐射单元的反射系数均小于-30 dB.平面阵列采用基片集成波导低副瓣功分器馈电.文中给出了具体设计公式、方法和仿真结果.设计制作的16×16阵列在16.1 GHz频点上实测增益为30 dB,轴比为0.7 dB,副瓣小于-20 dB.  相似文献

设计了一种新型脊波导缝隙圆极化天线。在脊波导宽边开并联纵缝,从波导耦合电磁波至其上方的四脊波导圆极化器,实现圆极化辐射。采用脊波导不仅减小了单元尺寸,更改善了天线的带宽性能。重点研究了四脊波导圆极化器对相互垂直的两辐射场分量的影响,优化单元的轴比特性。在提取单元谐振电导的基础上,设计了工作在10GHz 的1×10 圆极化波导缝隙阵列。对天线实物测试得到中心频率处的增益为16.8dB,第一副瓣电平为 25dB,阻抗带宽约为8.5%,相对轴比带宽(AR臆3dB)约为3.2%。  相似文献

The wedge-diffraction theory in combination with the creeping wave theory is used to compute the radiation pattern of an axial slot on a circular conducting cylinder. The slot is excited by a parallel-plate waveguide operating in the TEM-mode. The total field in the "lit" region is obtained by the superposition of the wedge-diffracted and creeping wave fields. The total field in the "shadow" region is obtained solely from the creeping wave contribution.  相似文献

Experimental results for a 90° dielectric polariser in a circular waveguide are presented. A small slot notched into the circular waveguide wall, used for the accurate alignment of the dielectric plate, has led to a decrease in the relative phase shift by 15.7%. Expressions are derived for the electromagnetic field due to a known circular cylindrical monopole electric current and a coaxial transverse electromagnetic (TEM) mode aperture distribution, both in an infinite parallel plate waveguide. This paper presents a rigorous analysis of a slot-coupled T-junction between a primary circular cylindrical waveguide and rectangular waveguide, forming the coupled T-arm. The analysis is based on moment-method formulation using full-wave basis functions and Galerkin's technique for testing. Expression for the coupling and reflection coefficients are found, taking into account the effect of finite wall thickness of the circular waveguide in which the coupling slot is milled. When neglecting space harmonics and higher-order slot modes, the attenuation characteristic of corrugated circular groove waveguide has been investigated. An approximate solution for the field structure and propagating modes in parallel plane, circular, and coaxial ferrite filled waveguide is presented. Bundles of plane waves are assumed to propagate in these structures which bounce back and forth along the guide. The solutions are classified into two types depending on the negative or positive equality of the incident and reflected waves. In the case of the circular guide the waves form a cone, and in the coaxial guide they form a frustum of a cone about the axis. The elemental plane waves are also assumed to satisfy Polder's relation and the boundary conditions at the guide walls. Simple relations are obtained with this equivalence for the propagation constant and the field. Comparison to rigorous theory is made in the case of the parallel plane and circular guide. Some experimental verification is presented for the completely filled coaxial waveguide.  相似文献

A resonant coupling slot cut in the common broad wall of two crossed rectangular waveguides is analyzed. The slot is offset from the center line and tilted with respect to the longitudinal axis of the main waveguide, whereas it is centered-tiled in the branch waveguide. It is shown that the slot offset and tilt control the branch waveguide excitation amplitude with a phase variability of 360°. Pertinent integral equations are developed, taking into account finite wall thickness. The integral equations are solved for the slot aperture electric field using the method of moments.  针对耦合波导缝隙馈电时波导内电磁场复杂且不利于工程应用的问题,提出一种耦合波导缝隙有源阻抗计算方法.根据耦合波导端口处S矩阵与端口处输入阻抗矩阵的关系建立关于耦合波导缝隙有源阻抗方程,且采用牛顿法求解此非线性高阶分式方程,得到计及缝隙间互耦的耦合波导缝隙有源阻抗值.通过提取HFSS软件中耦合缝隙馈电的裂缝天线S矩阵进行仿真计算,结果表明该计算耦合缝隙有源阻抗的方法是有效的且适合大型裂缝天线耦合裂缝设计.  相似文献

A selective modal scheme is proposed to efficiently analyze the problem of high-frequency (HF) electromagnetic (EM) coupling/penetration into or radiation from open-ended waveguides. This scheme is based on the phenomenon that at sufficiently high frequencies, the modes which contribute most significantly to the fields coupled into the waveguide are those whose modal ray directions are most nearly parallel to the incident-wave direction. This concept is illustrated by calculating the EM radiation and backscattering from open-ended parallel-plate, rectangular, circular, and sectoral waveguide geometries. The calculations use the usual geometrical optics, aperture field, and Ufimtsev edge current techniques. 理论模拟研究了硅基绝缘(SOI)的slot波导中槽内限制功率与slot波导的结构参数以及包覆层折射率的关系.结果表明,如果包覆层的折射率偏离衬底SiO2的折射率,相同参数下的slot波导的传输损耗大于包覆层为SiO2的结构的传输损耗.分析表明,如果包层与衬底折射率不同,限制的光功率会从slot缝隙中渗透到折射率较高的衬底或者包层中,从而引起能量的损耗.理论模拟得到了在缝隙宽度为0.12μm的情况下,slot波导槽内最大的光功率限制为28.54%,这个值包含了纳米线波导与slot波导直接耦合产生的耦合损耗以及slot波导自身的传输损耗.  相似文献

对Si基槽型(slot)光波导的传输特性进行了研究。 采用三 维时域有限差分(3D-FDTD)法研究了芯层中的光功率与波导槽型宽度及Si条带宽度之间的关 系,结果显示,槽型光波导具有很好的光功率约束效率,可以达到30%以上; 分析了光功率的变化规律及其优化,综合考虑光功率和光功率密度确定波导结构参数,实现 最佳光功率分 布,横向光功率分布沿x轴方向具有很好的约束效果,沿y轴方向呈现高斯分布;分析了底部Si薄层对光 功率的影响,100nm的底部Si薄层使得芯层的光功率下降50%,减小 底部Si薄层厚度有利于光功率约束效 率的提高;采用电子束刻写(EBL)技术和等离子刻蚀(ICP)技术制备了Si基槽型光波导,实验 研究了其传输损耗,结果显示,槽型光波导具有较低的传输损耗,达到13.5dB/cm。  相似文献

An analysis is presented of a T junction between rectangular and circular waveguides coupled through a long axial slot in the narrow wall of the rectangular waveguide. A moment method with entire orthogonal basis functions is used for deriving expressions for the elements of the scattering matrix. The effect of the wall thickness is taken into account by treating the coupling slot as a short section of a rectangular waveguide and matching the boundary conditions at the interfaces. The conditions satisfied by the scattering matrix of the junction are verified. Here a computationally efficient method of moments (MoM) formulation is presented for the full-wave analysis and design of radial line slot antennas (RLSAs). The method efficiency is based on an ad-hoc representation of the internal problem (electrically large circular cavity) Green's function, which is split into the sum of a parallel plate waveguide contribution and a rim effect contribution, expanded in terms of radial modes. The convergence rate of the proposed Green's function expansion is investigated both analytically and numerically with the aid of some examples. Furthermore, comparisons with a commercial general purpose MoM software were performed on a complete RLSA to demonstrate the accuracy and the efficiency of our approach.  相似文献

An analysis of coupling between a stripline and a rectangular waveguide is presented. Coupling is through small apertures in the form of a circular hole or a narrow rectangular slot. A closed form expression for the normalized field distribution in the stripline, required for the purpose of analysis, is also derived.
