EPR, XRD, and magnetic studies are presented for Pr0.5Re0.5Ba2Cu3O7?δ compounds (Re= La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Y, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu) in the orthorhombic and tetragonal (large oxygen deficiency) phase. For the samples with Re=Dy, Ho, Y, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu in the orthorhombic phase, the transition to the superconducting state has been observed in the temperatures rangeT c between 18 and 40 K. For the samples with Nd and Yb in the tetragonal phase, EPR spectra coming from trivalent rare earth ions have been recorded. In the nonoxygenated sample Pr0.5La0.5Ba2Cu3O7?δ the EPR spectrum arising from the non-Kramers trivalent praseodymium ion has been observed. A broad EPR line appearing in all our samples was attributed to superexchange interaction between copper ions over oxygen (O 2 ? ) bridges. Interestingly, for the Pr0.5Re0.5Ba0.5Cu3O7?δ (Re = Er and Lu) compounds in the tetragonal phase at liquid-nitrogen temperature, a nonresonant microwave absorption in low magnetic fields has been detected.  相似文献

Y0.4Pr0.6Ba2–xCaxCu3O7– polycrystalline samples were prepared and investigated. The Ca substitution led to a structural variation toward tetragonal symmetry, possibly due to the structural modification within the Cu(1)O layer. Superconductivity and metallic conduction were recovered whenx0.2, giving one more evidence for the existence of the ion-size effect at the Ba site.  相似文献

We present the percolation and electronic properties of (Y1Ba2Cu3O7– )1–xAgx compounds in which silver fills the intergranular space without reducing Tc, which remains at 92 ± 1 K. Normal-state resistivity is decreased by up to two orders of magnitude when adding up to 50 wt.% Ag (T c=87 K), and samples exhibit improved contact resistance, better mechanical properties, and resistance to water. We analyzed the percolation properties of these compounds and found that the critical indicest, s are in agreement with percolation theory, butp c is higher than expected, probably due to the effect of holes. TheJ c estimated from magnetization reaches 5 · 104A/cm2 (atT = 4.2K,H = 0) and shows enhancement of 15–50% by addition of 10 wt.% Ag, which exists also in samples having a higherJ c due to preparation conditions (temperature). We present preliminary results on the 2D percolation problem in (Y1Ba2Cu3O[7– )1–xAgx samples, obtained by preparing Y1Ba2Cu3O7– thick films using the spin-on technique. Preliminary results show good adhesion but a reduced Tc of Y1Ba2Cu3O7– films compared with bulk samples.  相似文献

High-resolution electron microscopy (HREM) studies of grain boundaries and fractured surfaces in both the tetragonal and orthorhombic phases of dense (>90%) YBa2Cu3O7– and tetragonal LaBaCaCu3O7– have been conducted. Grain boundaries in polycrystalline YBa2Cu3O7– are found to be frequently parallel to a (001) plane of one of the adjacent grains, with a structure similar to that of the (001) surface of fractured YBa2Cu3O7-gd. Matching of experimental and calculated images shows that the outermost surface layer in this compound is a deformed BaO layer. Both grain boundaries and fractured surfaces in LaBaCaCu3O7– show no such tendency for preferential orientation of the interface plane. Results indicate that the low critical currents observed in sintered materials are caused by textured grain growth in combination with the atomic structure of the grain boundary plane, and the intercalation of off-stoichiometric species near the grain boundary.  相似文献

The chemical control of underdoped and overdoped states in the Y(Ba2 – y Sr y )Cu3O6 + (0.1 and 0.9) compounds has been observed by high-resolution O K-edge X-ray-absorption near-edge-structure spectra. The chemical substitution of Sr for Ba in the fully-oxygenated Y(Ba2–y Sr y )Cu3O6 + (0.9) compounds gives rise to high hole concentrations within both the CuO2 planes and the out-of-plane sites, leading to the overdoped state and the decrease in the superconducting transition temperature from 92 K for y=0 to 84 K for y=0.8. In contrast, an increase in the Sr content in the oxygen-deficient Y(Ba2 – y Sr y )Cu3O6 + (0.1) compounds did not indicate superconductivity. The oxygen-deficient compounds exhibit the underdoped state due to the low hole concentration.  相似文献

Series of Y-Ba-Cu-O compositions were prepared from barium cuprates and Y2O3, using a two-step synthesis route. It has been shown that Ba2Cu3O5+ is essential in formation of the YBa2Cu3O7– superconducting phase while BaCuO2 is not an appropriate starting material. A wide composition range fromx=2 to 17 was prepared from Ba2Cu3O5+ in the YBa x Cu1.5x O z series without disappearance of macroscopic superconductivity atT c>77 K. Resistivity measurements hint at the existence of two superconducting phases. ESR investigations revealed a baseline hysteresis, depending on the actual value ofx.  相似文献

Many different forms of superconducting tunneling have been attempted with the high-T c cuprates. For these studies to be convincing, it is important to assure that elastic tunneling is the dominant conduction mechanism in the structures considered. Some simple criteria to determine whether this is the case are reviewed, and then our results (which satisfy the criteria) on the system Y1–xPrxBa2Cu3O7– are discussed. In this study we show that with increasing Pr concentration, the material becomes more gapless.  相似文献

Dip-coating and partial melting technique have been used to fabricate high quality superconducting YBa2Cu3O7– and YBa2Cu3O7–-Ag thick films with T c(0)=92 K on polycrystalline REBa2NbO6 (RE=Pr, Nd, Sm, and Eu) substrates. The superconducting films showed excellent adhesion to the REBa2NbO6 substrate. The effect of Ag addition in YBa2Cu3O7– on the current density, microstructure, and crystal orientation of the superconducting films developed on the above substrates have been discussed in detail. Dip-coating technique was found to be one of the easiest method for obtaining good quality superconducting YBa2Cu3O7– thick films with thickness as low as 3 m even on polycrystalline substrates.  相似文献

A 1201-phase superconductor (Pb0.5Cu0.5)SrLaCuO exhibiting a zero-resistance (R=0) state at 21 K has been synthesized. Neutron Rietveld refinement of the structure shows substantial oxygen disorder in the (Pb/Cu)-O(3) monolayer and excess occupancy of oxygen at the O(3) sites. The superconducting behavior of (Pb0.5Cd0.5)SrLaCuO , prepared under identical conditions, yields a value ofT c (R=0) equal to 24 K. The presence of extra oxygen appears to be responsible for trapping of holes within the rock-salt (Pb/Cu)-O(3).  相似文献

Investigations of Y1–x M x Ba2Cu3O7– (M=Ce, Th)c-axis oriented thin film specimens show that the rate of depression ofT c withx is larger for M=Th, than for M=Ce and Pr, and suggest that Ce, like Th, is tetravalent in this compound. Hall effect measurements on Y1–x Pr x Ba2Cu3O7– single crystals reveal aT 2 dependence of the cotangent of the Hall angle in the normal state and a negative Hall anomaly belowT c in the superconducting state, in agreement with recent reports. Our research shows that the depth, , of the negative Hall signal scales withT/T c and that the maximum value of decreases linearly withx and vanishes atx0.24. Magnetoresistance measurements on Y1–x Pr x Ba2Cu3O7– single crystals indicate that the irreversibility lineH(T *) obeys a universal scaling relation characterized by anm=3/2 power law nearT c, with a crossover to a more rapid temperature dependence of belowT/T c 0.6, similar to that observed for polycrystalline specimens.  相似文献
