This paper presents a new optical method of coordinate measuring machine (CMM) verification. The proposed system based on a single-mode fiber optical-comb pulsed interferometer with a ball lens of refractive index 2 employed as the target. The target can be used for absolute-length measurements in all directions. The laser source is an optical frequency comb, whose repetition rate is stabilized by a rubidium frequency standard. The measurement range is confirmed to be up to 10 m. The diagonals of a CMM are easier to verify by the proposed method than by the conventional artifact test method. The measurement uncertainty of the proposed method is also smaller than that of the conventional method because the proposed measurement system is less affected by air temperature; it achieves an uncertainty of approximately 7 μm for measuring lengths of 10 m. The experimental results show that the measurement accuracy depends on noise in the interference fringe, which arises from airflow fluctuations and mechanical vibrations.  相似文献

This paper proposes a non-contact pulsed interferometer for dimensional metrology using the repetition frequency of an optical frequency comb. A compact absolute-length measuring system is established for practical non-contact measurement based on a single-mode fiber interferometer. The stability and accuracy of the measurements are compared with those from a commercial incremental laser interferometer. The drifts of both systems have the same tendency and a maximum difference is approximately 0.1 μm. Subsequently, preliminary absolute-length measurements up to 1.5 m were measured. The signal-to-noise ratios of the small signals are improved by a frequency-selective amplifier. It is apparent that the noise is rejected, and the intensity of the interference fringes is amplified, achieving a maximum standard deviation of measurement approximately 1 μm. The proposed technique can provide sufficient accuracy for non-contact measurement in applications such as a simple laser-pulse tracking system.  相似文献

A subpixel edge location method based on orthogonal Jacobi–Fourier moments is proposed in this paper to improve the performance of optical fiber spherical coupling probe during dimensional measurement of micro-cavities with high aspect ratio. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved through the performance test of a micro-hole measuring machine with optical spherical coupling probe. Test results indicate that a blind micro-hole of 400 μm in diameter can be experimentally measured at the depth of 2000 μm with a repeatability of 40 nm and an extremity resolution of 42 nm.  相似文献

The presented 3D-ball plate is used for testing machine tools with a workspace of 500 mm × 500 mm × 320 mm. The artefact consists of a 2D-ball plate which is either located by a kinematic correct coupling on a base plate or on a spacer. The spacers are placed between the base plate and the ball plate and are also kinematic coupled to the other elements of the artefact. The kinematic couplings provide a high repeatability of the measurement setup. Because of the specific application the known calibration procedures for 2D-ball plates are not applicable.A calibration method for the pseudo-3D-artefact on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is presented, with the aim to minimise the influence of geometric CMM errors. Therefore a computer simulation is used to analyse the effects of these disturbing errors on the calibration of the ball plate and the spacers. Using a reversal method, the plate is measured at four different horizontal positions after rotating the ball plate around its vertical axis. A couple of the CMM errors, e.g., a squareness error C0Y between the X- and Y-axis of the CMM, can be eliminated by that method—others have to be determined with additional measurements, e.g., the positioning errors EXX or EYY of the X- and Y-axis, respectively. The paper also contains a measurement uncertainty estimation for the calibration by use of experiments, tolerances and Monte Carlo-simulations. The achieved uncertainty for ball positions in the working volume is less than 2.1 μm (coverage factor k = 2).  相似文献

This study presents the novel development of low cost, highly efficient blue laser direct-writing equipment for using mask-less laser lithography to manufacture periodic and aperiodic nanostructure patterns. The system includes a long-stroke linear motor precision stage (X, Y), a piezoelectric nano-precision stage (Y, θz), a 3-DOF (degrees of freedom) laser interferometer measurement system, and a blue laser direct-writing optical system. The 3-DOF laser interferometer measurement system gives the control system feedback for displacement (X, Y, θz) of the equipment. The laser processing equipment consists of a blue laser direct-writing optical head, a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) alignment interface, and an optical head servo controller. The optical head operates at a wavelength of 405 nm. Processing the nanostructures on thermo-reaction inorganic resists with precise control of the laser intensity, taking advantage of the threshold effect to exceed the limitations of optical diffraction, and reduces the nanostructure hole size. The equipment can be used to fabricate various periodic nanostructure patterns, aperiodic nanostructure patterns, and two-dimensional patterns. The equipment positioning accuracy is within 50 nm at a speed of 50 mm/s, and the minimum critical dimension can be achieved about 100 nm or so.  相似文献

In this investigation, a self-developed signal processing method for Fabry–Perot interferometer is proposed which can be utilized for high-speed dynamic displacement measurements, e.g. mechanical vibration measurements. The lookup table (LUT) integrated with the interference intensity equation has been employed for the interpolation processing of interference signals. With the aid of this method, the interpolation error has been reduced by 40% in comparison with that resulting from the commercial sinusoidal signal processing module. By operations of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), the displacement measurement distribution can be converted into the frequency spectrum diagram. The interpolation resolution of the proposed interferometric displacement measurement system is about 0.1 nm. Experimental results demonstrate that this interferometer system is available for measuring frequencies till 2 kHz where its corresponding amplitude is 0.15 μm.  相似文献

In order to detect the weak underwater acoustic signal, a Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) scheme based on the self-interference of Rayleigh backscattering is presented. Rayleigh backscattered light which contains a phase change induced by acoustic signal along the sensing fiber which is a standard telecom single-mode fiber is split and fed into an imbalance Michelson interferometer. With the self-interference of two Rayleigh backscattered beams, the phase change is amplified theoretically compared with phase-sensitive OTDR. We designed an experiment to prove the scheme, and successfully restored the acoustic information, meanwhile, the DAS system has preliminary realized around the acoustic phase sensitivity of −151 dB (re rad/μPa) at 600 Hz, and the minimum detectable acoustic pressure of 6 Pa in the experiment.  相似文献

A simplified technique using short term Fourier transform to reduce the errors in distributed temperature measurement with a Raman scattering based optical fiber sensor system is presented. The two main sources of errors are differential attenuation to anti-Stokes and Stokes signal by fiber and local change in Stokes due to change in temperature. The proposed technique compensates these errors and extracts correct temperature profile in spite of practical difficulties encountered in applying the theoretical concept. Moreover proposed technique is less complex, self-reliant, can tolerate variation in laser power, requires less dead zone and suits automation using embedded solution. Results of measurement carried out, using the system developed at RRCAT, Indore, for two hot zones having spatial width of 1.9 m (kept at 56 °C) and 1.5 m (kept at 78 °C), located at 47 m and 85 m respectively, show that these parameters can be recovered with significantly small errors.  相似文献

1 kg single-crystal silicon spheres are presently used as primary density standards in many countries. The absolute density of the spheres is determined from the measurements of their mass and volume in conformity with the definitions of the SI base units. Since the mass of the spheres is almost 1 kg, a mass comparison with the prototype of the kilogram can be performed with very low uncertainty. Absolute volume measurements for the spheres therefore have a crucial role in realizing a reliable density traceability system. To confirm the reliability of the volume measurement, the volume of a silicon sphere was measured independently using optical interferometers at the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS, Korea) and the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ, Japan). An optical interferometer with an etalon scanning system was used at KRISS. On the other hand, an optical interferometer with an optical frequency scanning system was used at NMIJ. The volume was measured at 20 °C and 0 Pa, and the results are in agreement with each other within their uncertainties. Details of the two interferometers and the comparison results are described.  相似文献

A motorized 5 m tape comparator was constructed in TUBITAK UME for calibration of tapes and rules up to 5 m length in one set-up and further lengths in multiple set-ups. The system is a practical development and provides a cost effective solution for calibration of tapes in which the highest grade’s accuracy requirement in OIML R35-1 e.g. is 600 μm for 5 m length and 1100 μm for 10 m length. It is mainly composed of 6 m rail system, mechanical parts, optical units and an integrated 6 m incremental linear encoder as a reference measurement axis for traceable measurements. The rails are kinematically located on a heavy marble construction and a motorized carriage, which employs a camera for probing of the scales on the tapes, is moved along the rails during the measurement. The image of the scale taken by the camera is viewed on the monitor screen together with the running software. The operator can perform the probing process by simply moving the carriage over the measured scales (tapes or rules) using a joystick. The carriage movement is measured by the incremental linear encoder previously calibrated by a laser interferometer and the software automatically takes the measurement results from the incremental linear encoder, applies correction values previously defined and determines the length of the tapes and rules as well as deviations from nominal lengths. The estimated expanded uncertainty of the steel tape measurement is U = 54 μm in one set-up (for 5 m length) and U = 77 μm in two set-ups (for 10 m length) at the confidence level of approximately 95%. Uncertainty budget for calibration of the device itself and for calibration of the test tapes are explained in detail. The results of extensive experimental work and analysis are provided by demonstrating application of science and technology of measurement and instrumentation. Investigations for long term stability of the system are given with the reported test results for the years of 2003-2011 and participated intercomparison results to validate the device scientifically are illustrated.  相似文献

This paper presents a long-stroke contact scanning probe with high precision and low stiffness for micro/nano coordinate measuring machines (micro/nano CMMs). The displacements of the probe tip in 3D are detected by two plane mirrors supported by an elastic mechanism, which is comprised of a tungsten stylus, a floating plate and two orthogonal Z-shaped leaf springs fixed to the outer case. A Michelson interferometer is used to detect the vertical displacement of the mirror mounted on the center of the floating plate. An autocollimator based two dimensional angle sensor is used to detect the tilt of the other plane mirror located at the end of the arm of the floating plate. The stiffness and the dynamic properties are investigated by simulation. The optimal structural parameters of the probe are obtained based on the force-motion model and the constrained conditions of stiffness, measurement range and horizontal size. The results of the performance tests show that the probe has a contact force gradient within 0.5 mN/μm, a measuring range of (±20 μm), (±20 μm), and 20 μm, respectively, in X, Y and Z directions, and a measurement standard deviation of 30 nm. The feasibility of the probe has preliminarily been verified by testing the curved surface of a convex lens.  相似文献

Bi/Er co-doped optical fiber is one of the solutions for wave band extending technology which is very important for fiber amplifiers, lasers and communication system. Pump option can alter emission band of the Bi/Er co-doped fiber. In this paper, optimization of pump wavelength is proposed. A high Bi concentration co-doped Bi/Er optical fiber is tested as a sample to demonstrate pump wavelength influence to the emission spectrum band. An optical fiber measurement system is provided to measure out characteristics of active optical fibers. And some useful results and parameters of pump optimizing for Bi/Er co-doped optical fiber are discussed in detail. From this research, optimized pump wavelength is suggested around 1350 nm to get a wider continue spectrum covers from 1300 nm to 1600 nm.  相似文献

A displacement metrology and control system using an optical frequency comb generator and a dual Fabry-Perot cavity is developed with sub-nm accuracy. The optical frequency comb generator has expanded the displacement measurement range and the dual cavity system has suppressed the environmental fluctuation. We evaluated the absolute uncertainty of the developed displacement measurement system to be approximately 190 pm for the displacement of 14 μm and the accurate displacement control using a phase-locked loop was demonstrated with a resolution of approximately 24 pm.  相似文献

We propose a refractive index optical fiber sensor based on the micro cavities generated through the fiber catastrophic fuse effect. This sensor was tested in the measurement of solutions with refractive indices ranging from 1.3320 to 1.4280. The linear dependence of the reflection spectra modulation period as function of the surrounding environment refractive index leads to a resolution of 3 × 10−4 RIU. The proposed sensor is an innovative solution based on optical fiber damaged by the fuse effect, resulting in a cost effective solution.  相似文献

The multi-wavelength fiber sensor for measuring surface roughness and surface scattering characteristics were investigated. In this paper, specimens with different surface roughness were analyzed by using 650 nm, 1310 nm and 1550 nm laser as the light source, respectively. The working distance of 2 mm was chosen as the optimum measurement distance. The experimental results indicate that multi-wavelength fiber sensor can accurately measure surface roughness, and can effectively reduce the unsystematic error. The light scattering intensity ratio has a good linear relationship with the surface roughness. The minimum relative error of the surface roughness is 2.92%, the maximum relative error is 13.4%, and the average relative error is about 7.48%. The accuracy for measuring surface roughness by multi-wavelength fiber sensor is about twice as large as that by single-wavelength fiber sensor.  相似文献

A deadweight-type torque standard machine of 20 kN m rated capacity (20 kN m-DWTSM) has been designed and developed by the National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Each uncertainty contribution comes mainly from the performance of each mechanical part of the 20 kN m-DWTSM. Authors evaluated the uncertainty of the mass of the linkage weights, local acceleration of gravity, influence of air buoyancy on deadweight loading, initial moment-arm length (including CMM measurement and temperature compensation), and sensitivity of the fulcrum. This report deals especially with evaluation of the remaining contributions, namely the influence of arm flexure and reference line variation at the end of the moment-arm on best measurement capability (BMC). Estimation of BMC in the 20 kN m-DWTSM gave a relative expanded uncertainty of less than 7.0 · 10−5 (k = 2) for the calibration range from 200 N m to 20 kN m.  相似文献

The absolute optical thickness and surface shape of optical devices are considered as the fundamental characteristics when designing optical equipment. The thickness and surface shape should be measured simultaneously to reduce cost. In this research, the absolute optical thickness and surface shape of a 6–mm-thick fused silica transparent plate of diameter 100 mm was measured simultaneously by a three-surface Fizeau interferometer. A measurement method combining the wavelength tuning Fourier and phase shifting technique was proposed. The absolute optical thickness that corresponds to the group refractive index was determined by wavelength tuning Fourier analysis. At the beginning and end of the wavelength tuning, the fractional phases of the interference fringes were measured by the phase shifting technique and optical thickness deviations with respect to the ordinary refractive index and surface shape were determined. These two kinds of optical thicknesses were synthesized using the Sellmeier equation for the refractive index of fused silica glass, and the least square fitting method was used to determine the final absolute optical thickness distribution. The experimental results indicate that the all the measurement uncertainties for the absolute optical thickness and surface shape were approximately 3 nm and 35 nm, respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate a simultaneous distributed strain and temperature measurement technique with the spatial resolution of 1 mm using fiber Bragg gratings inscribed in a polarization-maintaining and absorption-reducing fiber (PANDA-FBGs) and optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR). We conduct four-point bending tests in an environmental chamber. Using high birefringent PANDA-FBGs that are manufactured specifically for the simultaneous measurements, the uniform temperature distributions and the typical strain distribution profiles of the four-point bending tests were successfully obtained. The measurement errors of strain were from −31 με to 19 με, and of temperature were from −0.9 °C to 1.3 °C. The spatial standard deviation was 7.5 με and 0.9 °C. We also discussed the effect of the residual strain of the sensor-bonding procedures and the data averaging.  相似文献

For the purpose of measuring free form surfaces of some key parts in the aviation field accurately and effectively, such as blades, a non-contact optical coordinate measuring system is set up in the paper. A laser displacement sensor is mounted on the Z axis of a CMM via a turntable and adjusted to the suitable orientation according to the shape of the target surface. The combination of optical sensor and CMM can reach the full potential of them both. To enable the laser sensor to perform measurement in every direction, a calibration method used to determine the laser beam direction based on a standard sphere is proposed, the principle of which is analyzed in detail in the paper. In the calibration procedure, the sensor moves at an equal step along X, Y and Z axes respectively and then equation sets are established to calculate the unit direction vector of the line which the laser beam is on. In the process of solving the unknown quantities, a new parameter substitution method is applied. Finally, a gauging block and a sphere with known size are used to verify the method. As the experimental results show, the measuring errors in several directions are all smaller than 0.05 mm, which manifests that the calibration method proposed can meet the requirements of reverse engineering.  相似文献

Bilateral comparisons of the calibration of low nominal capacity torque measuring devices (TMDs) were conducted between NMIJ and PTB for the first time. A 10 N m deadweight torque standard machine (TSM) newly developed at NMIJ was compared with PTB’s two TSMs with nominal capacities of 1 N m and 1 kN m, in the range from 0.1 N m to 10 N m. The transfer measurement devices used had nominal capacities of 1 N m and 10 N m. The comparisons were made using two calibration procedures: one based on the CCM.T-K2 Key Comparison procedure and the other according to the daily calibration procedure adopted at each institute. As a result, the torque realized by the TSM at NMIJ was shown to be equivalent to that realized by the two TSMs at PTB. In addition, it was confirmed that the daily calibration procedures of both institutes yielded consistent results in the calibration of low nominal capacity TMDs.  相似文献
