A dual‐band dual‐polarized hybrid aperture‐cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) is examined in this article. Inverted regular pentagon shaped aperture is not only used to launch two radiating hybrid modes (HEM11δ and HEM12δ mode) in CDRA but also act as a radiator. Out of two frequency bands, the lower frequency band is linearly polarized while upper frequency band is the combination of both circular and linear polarization. A circular polarization (CP) characteristic in upper frequency band is created by loading quarter annular stub with microstrip line. LHCP/RHCP can easily be controlled by alternating the position of quarter annular stub. It is operating over two frequency ranges i.e. 2.48‐2.98 GHz and 4.66‐5.88 GHz with the fractional bandwidth 18.31% and 23.14% respectively. Axial ratio bandwidth (3‐dB) is approximately 8.78% (4.9‐5.35 GHz) in upper frequency band. The proposed antenna design is suitable WiMAX (2.5/5.5 GHz) and WLAN (2.5/5.5 GHz) applications.  相似文献

A novel dual‐band, dual‐circularly polarized antenna is proposed and fabricated. The proposed antenna consists of an asymmetric U‐shaped slot and an inverted L‐shaped slot which are designed to excite two orthogonal E vectors with equal amplitude and 90° phase difference (PD), in addition, fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) Furthermore, a left‐hand circular polarization in the direction of z > 0 and a right‐hand circular polarization instead of the opposite direction both at the lower and upper bands are exhibited by the radiations of the antenna. Good agreement is achieved between the measurement and simulation, which indicates that a 10‐dB bandwidth of 38.75% from 2.56 to 3.8 GHz and 21.8% from 10.01 to 12.53 GHz, while a 3‐dB axial‐ratio bandwidth (ARBW) of 13.4% from 2.77 to 3.2 GHz and 9.23% from 10.25 to 11.25 GHz at two operation bands, respectively, are covered in the designed antenna. To explain the mechanism of dual‐band dual‐circular polarization, the analysis of magnetic fields distributions and a parametric study of the design are given. Meanwhile, compared to other recent works, a single layer structure, wider axial ratio and impedance bandwidths and a more compact size are the key features of the proposed antenna.  相似文献

This article presents a dual polarized, proximity‐fed monostatic patch antenna (single radiator for both transmit and receive modes) with improved interport isolation for 2.4 GHz in‐band full duplex (IBFD) applications. The proximity‐fed radiating patch offers comparatively wider impedance bandwidth for presented design. Very nice self‐interference cancelation (SIC) levels for intended impedance bandwidth have been achieved through differential receive (Rx) mode configuration. The differential Rx mode based on 180° ring hybrid coupler acts as a signal inversion mechanism for effective suppression or cancelation of in‐band self‐interference (SI) that is, the leakage from transmit port. The implemented prototype of proposed antenna achieves ≥87 dB peak isolation for dual polarized IBFD operation. Moreover, the recorded interport isolation for validation model ≥60 dB within 10 dB‐return loss bandwidth of 90 MHz (2.36‐2.45 GHz). The measured radiation characteristics of implemented antenna demonstrate nice gain and low cross‐polarization levels for both transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) modes. The dimensions of implemented antenna are 70 × 75 × 4.8 mm3. The novelty of this work is wide‐band SIC performance for monostatic antenna configuration with compact structure of presented design.  相似文献

This article has proposed a circularly polarized dual‐band antenna with unidirectional pattern operating at the bandwidth frequencies of 920–925 MHz and 2.40–2.48 GHz for radiofrequency identification (RFID) readers. The proposed antenna structure is of a radiating patch with a single feeder and two pairs of plano convex and concave slots. This work has innovated and utilized the convex and concave slotting technique to generate the circular polarization. The simulated results showed that the dual‐band antenna is of circular polarization (CP) and unidirectional radiation pattern with the 3 dB axial ratio and the respective gains of 1.31 and 1.36 dBic for the experimental lower and upper bandwidth frequencies. An antenna prototype was subsequently fabricated and tests performed. The simulated and measured results are in good agreement, rendering the proposed dual‐band antenna with plano convex and concave slots suitably applicable to the ultrahigh frequency and microwave RFID readers.  相似文献

A novel square ring printed antenna has been suggested for dual‐band circular polarization (CP). The geometry contains a square patch and a square ring structure for dual‐band operation. Circular polarization is achieved using triangular cut at the boundary and right angle bend with inner perturbation. The suggested antenna is excited from the lower layer through electromagnetic (EM) coupling technique. The antenna shows good impedance bandwidths of 90 MHz (2.43‐2.52 GHz) and 800 MHz (5.7‐6.5 GHz, respectively. The antenna shows 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth of 20 MHz at lower band and 120 MHz at upper band with improved gain > 6 dBi. The simulated and measured results are well agreed with each other. The antenna is promising wideband operation at the upper band. This antenna was implemented on fiberglass reinforcement laminated Arlon substrate with dielectric constant (?r = 2.55), and the overall physical dimension of 30 × 30 × 3.048 mm3. The designed antenna can be extensibly applicable in WLAN/Wi‐MAX communication. The presented antenna is designed using hyperlynx IE3D and the simulated results are presented.  相似文献

This article presents two compact circularly polarized microstrip antennas with a very wide 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth and triple circularly polarized bands. A hexagonal stub (circular polarization element) along with tuning element in the ground plane is used for achieving wide 3 dB ARBW in antenna‐1, while a novel approach of using a parasitic strip around the circular polarization element is used in antenna‐2 for introducing band elimination notches in the circularly polarized band of antenna‐1. The antenna‐1 has a ?10 dB impedance bandwidth of 12.34% (3.8‐4.3 GHz), 84.02% (4.9‐12 GHz), and 3 dB ARBW of 79.94% (4.9‐10.9 GHz). The antenna‐2 displays circularly polarized band elimination notch characteristics with ?10 dB impedance bandwidth of 24.80% (3.85‐4.94 GHz), 31.72% (6.1‐8.4 GHz), 25.35% (9.3‐12 GHz), and 3 dB ARBW of 4.84% (4.63‐4.86 GHz), 19.08% (6.02‐7.29 GHz), and 5.7% (9.54‐10.1 GHz). Both the antennas are designed and fabricated on FR4 substrate of dimension (0.52 × 0.52 × 0.04)λ0 at a frequency of 7.9 GHz.  相似文献

This article presents a high‐gain dual band dual polarized waveguide slot array antenna. Three split ring resonators (SRRs) are placed on the transverse plane of a slotted waveguide at uniform distance to achieve dual band response whereas a polarizer superstrate has been used to change the linear polarization of the lower band to circular polarization. Ansys HFSS 14.0 has been used for simulation and optimization purpose. Proposed antenna shows two 10 dB return loss bandwidth covering the frequency range 8.41‐8.88 and 9.31‐10.43 GHz, respectively. The lower band offers a circular polarization and upper band offers a linear polarization.  相似文献

A dual‐mode circularly polarized compact antenna with integrated left‐hand and right‐hand circular polarization (LHCP and RHCP) is presented in this work. A multilayer arrangement of a square patch and square ring structure with an irregular transmission line is analyzed for dual‐band, dual‐CP operation. To realize dual mode propagation the proposed structure is excited using electromagnetic coupling technique. Succeeding proximity feeding with T‐stub match is analyzed, which conveys impedance bandwidth of 180 and 300 MHz within |S11| < ?10 dB at 3.5 and 5.5 GHz. The designed CP elements is suitably arranged with feed line for generating two orthogonal polarization of equal amplitude and a 90° phase difference at both the resonant modes (TM10 and TM01). Alterable LHCP and RHCP performance is realized by altering the compensated position and peculiar angle. Having both LHCP and RHCP polarization this design shows polarization insensitive characteristic. Each LHCP and RHCP antenna element accomplished a 3‐dB AR of 70 and 120 MHz with a gain up to 6 dBi. With a low profile of 0.27λ0 × 0.27λ0 × 0.04λ0, the CP antenna is fabricated, and the performance is validated through experimental analysis. With all the viable characteristics, the antenna is proposed for Wi‐MAX/WLAN communication.  相似文献

A broadband dual‐polarized patch antenna with hybrid feed structure is proposed in this article. Two different feeding mechanisms are designed to excite two orthogonal modes on a single radiating patch. One of the modes is excited by a magnetic‐coupled feeding structure, while the other is excited by an electric‐coupled feeding structure. The magnetic‐coupled feeding structure consists of a metallic loop with a gap and an open‐ended transmission line. The electric‐coupled feeding structure is composed of a series capacitor and an impedance transformer, which realizes 180° phase shifting. Measured results show that the proposed antenna has 52.3% (1.63~2.78 GHz) and 47.3% (1.68~2.72 GHz) impedance bandwidth with return loss (RL) > 10 dB for port 1 and port 2, respectively. Owing to the hybrid feed structure, the isolation between two ports is better than 26.5 dB. The proposed antenna is suitable for modern wireless communication systems.  相似文献

A simple structure of broadband circularly polarized slot antenna based on coplanar waveguide (CPW) feeding is proposed in this article. To obtain circular polarization with a single feed, a transition from microstrip to CPW is designed to excite the even and odd modes of the CPW simultaneously. By adjusting the relative position and dimensions of the two circular patches introduced at the end of microstrip line and CPW, a 90° phase difference between two modes can be produced. When the two modes are coupled into the wide slot antenna, broadband circular polarization operation can be realized. The 10‐dB reflection coefficient bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 88.2% (2.49‐6.42 GHz) and 3‐dB AR bandwidth attains 50% (2.72‐4.49 GHz).  相似文献

In this article, a geometrically simple, microstrip line‐fed planar monopole structure with slanting edge ground plane is designed to realize the dual‐band dual‐polarized operation. The proposed antenna consists of a rotated U‐shaped patch and an electromagnetically coupled L‐shaped parasitic radiating element. Owing to the combination of microstrip line‐fed radiating patch and a slanting‐edge rectangular ground plane on the opposite side of the substrate, the proposed dual‐band antenna can generate broad axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) in the upper frequency band. The overall dimension of the prototype is only 32 × 32 × 1.6 mm3. The measured results validate that the proposed antenna has two operational frequency bands, 29.84% (1.54‐2.08 GHz) for linearly polarized radiation and 71.85% (3.96‐8.4 GHz) for circularly polarized radiation. Measured result shows that 3‐dB ARBW of the proposed antenna is 73.54% (3.80‐8.22 GHz) in the higher frequency band. It shows that the higher frequency band exhibits a left‐hand circularly polarized radiation in the boresight direction.  相似文献

A dual‐band antenna array is proposed for the application of base station (BS) in 2G/3G/long term evaluation (LTE) mobile communications. This antenna consists of two independent ±45° dual‐polarized arrays, one of which operates from 1.71 to 2.17 GHz, and the other of which is designed from 2.5 to 2.69 GHz. The proposed BS antenna array has a high isolation of greater than 29 dB and high front‐to‐back ratio of more than 26 dB at the operating frequencies. The measured peak gain is 17.9 and 18.1 dBi for the lower and upper bands, respectively, and the cross polarizations isolation (CPI)(within ±60º of the mainlobe) is 16 dB lower than the broadside co‐polarization. It was confirmed that the proposed antenna array meets the communication standards in China. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 26:154–163, 2016.  相似文献

A single‐fed circularly polarized square shaped wide slot antenna with modified ground plane and microstrip feed has been presented. The field in the slot is perturbed by introducing an antipodal strips section attached with a microstrip line to produce circular polarization in a wide band of frequencies. The antipodal strip section consists of a group of four strips of unequal length and separation. The presence of asymmetric perturbations in the slot is mainly responsible for exciting two orthogonal modes in the slot having equal magnitude and 90° phase difference which results in circular polarization. A wide bandwidth of 3.3 GHz (4.4 GHz‐7.7 GHz) has been achieved for an axial ratio value AR < 3 dB with the minimum axial ratio value being 0.3 dB. The impedance bandwidth for |S11| < ?10 dB ranges from 4.3 GHz to 8 GHz, and therefore covers most of the C‐band communication systems. The antenna exhibits stable radiation patterns throughout the circular polarization bandwidth with a gain around 6 dBi in entire operational bandwidth. A prototype of antenna was fabricated and measured. The antenna has a planar size 0.40λ0 × 0.40λ0 and thickness of 0.02λ0 where λ0 is the wavelength in free space at the lowest frequency. With its compact size and low profile, the antenna is a favorable choice for WLAN (5.15‐5.85 GHz) and a wide variety of C‐band wireless applications.  相似文献

A novel design of dual‐frequency dual‐sense circularly polarized (CP) substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity‐backed slot antenna is presented for dual‐band wireless communication systems. The proposed antenna consists of square SIW cavity, asymmetrical bow‐tie‐shaped cross slot and probe feed. Due to use of asymmetrical bow‐tie‐shaped cross slot, circularly polarized wave radiates at two different frequencies with opposite sense of polarizations. The RHCP radiation occurs at (10.45‐10.54) GHz (Lower band) and LHCP occurs at (11.26‐11.34) GHz (Upper band). Moreover, in each band, sense of polarization can be change by changing the feed position. The front to back radiation ratio (FTBRR) is more than 10.5 dB and cross polarization level is lower than ?20 dB in both the bands.  相似文献

A novel zeroth‐order resonator (ZOR) meta‐material (MTM) antenna with dual‐band is suggested using compound right/left handed transmission line as MTM. In this article, suggested antenna consists of patch through series gap, two meander line inductors, and two circular stubs. The MTM antenna is compact in size which shows dual‐band properties with first band centered at 2.47 GHz (2.05‐2.89 GHz) and second band is centered at 5.9 GHz (3.70‐8.10 GHz) with impedance bandwidth of (S11 < ? 10 dB) 34.69% and 72.45%, respectively. At ZOR mode (2.35 GHz), the suggested antenna has overall dimension of 0.197λo × 0.07λo × 0.011λo with gain of 1.65 dB for ZOR band and 3.35 dB for first positive order resonator band which covers the applications like Bluetooth (2.4 GHZ), TV/Radio/Data (3.700‐6.425 GHz), WLAN (5‐5.16 GHz), C band frequencies (5.15‐5.35, 5.47‐5.725, or 5.725‐5.875 GHz) and satellite communication (7.25‐7.9 GHz). The radiation patterns of suggested structure are steady during the operating band for which sample antenna has been fabricated and confirmed experimentally. It exhibits novel omnidirectional radiation characteristics in phi = 0° plane with lower cross‐polarization values.  相似文献

In this article, details of a dual band microstrip patch antenna (MPA) array feed for an offset reflector antenna is presented. The main objective of the proposed structure is to achieve low cross‐polarization at Φ = 90° plane in the reflector pattern. Low cross‐polar levels in the reflector pattern are achieved by illuminating the reflector with fields of the proposed dual band feed structure. A centered circular array as the dual band feed structure is proposed in which the central radiating element is a dual mode circular MPA operating at 6 GHz and the surrounding circular ring of eight circular MPA elements operating at 4 GHz in the dominant mode. The dual mode central antenna uses the concept of conjugate field matching for cross‐polarization reduction. TM21 mode is excited at an appropriate ratio with the TM11 mode to achieve the proper field matching at 6 GHz. The radius of the surrounding circular array is varied to obtain cross‐polarization better than ?30 dB at both the resonant frequencies. The offset reflector gain is found to be better than 37 dB with a 2.5 m parabolic reflector and F/D = 0.8 at both the operating frequencies.  相似文献

A compact modified C‐shaped monopole antenna with broadband circular polarization is proposed, fabricated and measured. The antenna structure is simple and only consists of combined modified C‐shaped radiation patch and an improved ground plane with the overall size of 25 × 25 × 1 mm3. By cutting the corner on the modified C‐shaped patch and adding triangular stubs on the ground plane, the wide impedance bandwidth and axial ratio bandwidth are achieved. The design process of the antenna is given, and the circular polarization mechanism of the circularly polarized antenna is analyzed from the surface current distributions. The measured impedance bandwidth is 95.2% (4.4‐12.4 GHz) with return loss better than 10 dB, and the measured 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth is 96.8% (4.42‐12.72 GHz). The peak gain is above 3.0 dBi within the working band, which indicates that it is suitable for application of ultra‐wideband (UWB) wireless communication systems and satellite communication systems.  相似文献

A broadband high‐gain circularly polarized (CP) microstrip antenna operating in X band is proposed. The circular polarization property is achieved by rotating four narrow band linearly polarized (LP) microstrip patch elements in sequence. Since the conventional series‐parallel feed network is not conducive to the miniaturization of the array, a corresponding simplified feed network is designed to realize the four‐way equal power division and sequential 90° phase shift. With this feed network, the impedance bandwidth (IBW) of the CP array is greatly improved compared with that of the LP element, while maintaining a miniaturized size. Then, parasitic patches are introduced to enhance the axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW). A prototype of this antenna is fabricated and tested. The size of proposed antenna is 0.93λ0 × 0.93λ0 × 0.017λ0 (λ0 denotes the space wavelength corresponding to the center frequency 10.4 GHz). The measured 10‐dB IBW and 3‐dB ARBW are 13.6% (9.8‐11.23 GHz), 11.2% (9.9‐11.07 GHz) respectively, and peak gain in the overlapping band is 9.8 dBi.  相似文献

This article presents a novel circular polarized (CP) aperture coupled stack antenna for wireless local area network and worldwide interoperability for microwave access dual‐band systems. The compact stack antenna consisted of square fractal patch, aperture couple, feed line and the perturbation. The square patch is constructed with the complementary Minkowski‐island‐based fractal geometry. By way of adjusting the relevant parameters, we can obtain the dual‐band responses at 3.5 and 5.25 GHz respectively. The CP of each band are presented. The measured 10 dB return loss impedance bandwidth are 270 MHz (7.5%) for 3.5 GHz band and 450 MHz (8.6%) for 5.25 GHz band. The 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths for each bands are 1.4 and 0.76%, the polarization of radiation patterns are both left‐hand CP, and the antenna power gain are 2.84–3.1 and 0.16–2.2, dBic respectively. The proposed antenna is successfully simulated and measured with frequency responses, radiation patterns and current distributions. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A halved falcate‐shape dual‐broadband circularly polarized printed monopole antenna is proposed. To generate the equal amplitude orthogonal modes, two halved falcate‐shaped antenna are used. Also, to provide the 90° phase difference between the two modes, three stubs are used in the ground plane of the antenna. The proposed antenna provides 22.6 (1.36–1.72 GHz) and 44.4% (5.25–8.25 GHz) 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth over the lower and upper bands, respectively. By adjusting the parameters of the antenna, the lower and upper band center frequencies can be tuned individually. The proposed antenna is fabricated, and results are compared with those of the simulation. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE, 2011.  相似文献
