内蒙古赤峰陈家杖子金矿床矿物学特征及成因

通过光片鉴定和电子探针分析,总结了内蒙古赤峰陈家杖子金矿床的矿石矿物组成,结构构造,划分了成矿期次.研究表明:矿床中矿石成分较复杂,硫化物种类多,有少量硫盐矿物出现;富硫贫砷毒砂、贫砷富硫黄铁矿、贫锌富铁的闪锌矿(与标准分子式相比),含杂质多的银锑黝铜矿和方铅矿与金关系密切;多金属硫化物阶段是该矿床的主要成矿阶段,其中第二世代富硫贫砷毒砂是陈家杖子金矿的最主要载金矿物,其次是方铅矿.结合流体包裹体测试和研究,确定该矿床为受大型角砾岩筒构造控制的低硫化型浅成低温热液矿床,该矿床深部有很大的找矿潜力.     

Lengthening contraction and interpretations of active state tension in the isometric twitch response of skeletal muscle

The plateau of tetanic tension in a lengthening contraction of muscle at any given length is always greater than that in an isometric contraction at the same given length. To account for this excess of tension, it is suggested that the contractile machinery is "locked" in a strained condition that might make the muscle capable of bearing a greater tension in a lengthening contraction than it can develop in an isometric contraction. It is proposed that this strained condition also occurs in a lengthening contraction of the twitch response. If this proposal is valid it seems certain that the plateu of tension in the lengthening contraction of the twitch response cannot be equated with the plateau of tension in the isometric contraction of tetanus. The design of the original concept, that the plateau of active state tension in the lengthening contraction of the twitch is equal to the plateau of tension (Po) in the isometric contraction of tetanus, is based upon the assumption that the contractile component is neither lengthening nor shortening during both of these plateaus. This assumption is made without considering the possibility that the plateau in the lengthening contraction might be due to concurrent lengthening of series elastic elements and shortening of the contractile component. To account for the plateau of tension observed after quick lengthening in the early phase of twitch contraction indirect evidence is presented favoring the view that the quick lengthening during stretch is followed by slow lengthening and stress relaxation (decrease of tension) in series elastic elements and simultaneous shortening and increase of tension in the contractile component. When the original concept of active state tension in the twitch response is interpreted in the light of lengthening contraction, it is concluded that the labeled or implied Po for the plateau of the active state tension is unwarranted and confusing. It seems that the primary source of confusion is the assumption that the tension a muscle is capable of bearing in a lengthening contraction is equatable with the tension it can develop in an isometric contraction.

那程银金多金属矿床位于广东省阳春地区。通过采用路线地质调查、构造填图、矿床（点）考察和岩石地球化学等方法,详细总结了矿区地质特征。震旦系云开群和寒武系八村群是区内主要含矿地层,但震旦系Ag元素丰度值明显偏高,因此震旦系形成的矿床规模比寒武系大;矿区整体为一背斜构造,北翼具有低温元素组合特点,南翼具有中温元素组合特点,反映出褶皱的南翼处于抬升,而褶皱的北翼处于下降,因此,北翼矿体的埋藏深度大于南翼;矿区燕山期侵入岩出露处一般都有较好的矿化,加里东期白云母-绢云母不等粒变质砂岩质条带状混合岩出露处矿化较好,而碎裂-糜棱岩化似斑状黑云母钾长石花岗岩出露处矿化一般。

U3 snoRNA may recycle through different compartments of the nucleolus

A model is proposed in which U3 small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) is recruited from an inactive, stored form in the dense fibrillar component (DFC) of the nucleolus to an active form that is associated with the initial ribosomal RNA (rRNA) precursor. The initial steps of rRNA processing occur in the DFC, and then it is proposed that the U3 snoRNA moves with intermediates in rRNA processing from the DFC to the granular component (GC) of the nucleolus. The nucleolar protein fibrillarin is located primarily in the DFC, and it is suggested that the complex of fibrillarin and U3 snoRNA dissociates when U3 snoRNA transits to the GC. Finally, when U3 snoRNA is released from the processed rRNA, the tether holding the rRNA in the nucleolus is broken and rRNA can then be exported from the nucleolus to the cytoplasm. U3 snoRNA is hypothesized to recycle back from the GC to the DFC where it is stored until future association with another initial rRNA precursor. Data supporting this model are summarized. U3 snoRNA is also stored in the coiled body of interphase cells and in the nucleolar remnants and prenucleolar bodies of mitotic cells, and there may be some similarity in the binding sites for stored U3 snoRNA in the DFC and in these structures.

On Increasing Mn Recovery During Production of Mn-Based Stainless Steel

Recovery of Mn in steel making process depends on various processing parameters such as temperature, flow rate ratio of oxygen and argon gas in AOD process, carbon content, slag basicity, and V-ratio, Si content etc. The effect of these process parameters on Mn recovery in Mn-based stainless steel production is studied and optimized to maximize Mn recovery. It is observed that highest Mn recovery is achieved when slag basicity is maintained in the range of 1.7–1.8 and V-ratio is kept at 1.5. Further, it is noted that at high temperature, recovery of Mn is less because loss of Mn due to oxidation increases exponentially with the increase in temperature. Maximum Mn recovery is observed at 1585 °C bath temperature. Reduction of MnO with coke forms CO₂ gas and free Mn in the melt. To maximize recovery of Mn in stainless steel, it is of paramount importance that oxidation of Mn is reduced and reduction of MnO is accelerated. Oxidation of Mn is minimized by reducing the flow rate of oxygen and reduction of MnO is accelerated by adding adequate amount of coke to the molten charge.     

Effect of D-Glucarates on basic antibiotic-induced renal damage in rats

The death rate from tumours of the colon and rectum has risen rapidly in Japan since World War II. The rate of increase is greater in tumours of colon than in tumours of rectum. It is similar in males and females. It is large among the elderly, and this may be due to improvements in certification. But the difference between the Japanese and the US population is substantial at all ages. It is not known whether the current increase in the mortality of Japanese from tumours of the large bowel is due to differences between birth cohorts established early in life, or whether the differences developed after the end of World War II. Japanese who die of these tumours are younger than Americans, even when the age distribution of the populations is allowed for. This effect is produced by the differences between cohorts, and the age distributions within cohorts are closely similar in the two populations. The sex ratio for tumours of rectum rises with age in Japan in the same way that it does in the West, but the sex ratio of tumours of colon is apparently independent of age.

The most commonly encountered nutritional bone disease is nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism. This is primarily of importance in the dog but is occasionally seen in kittens, particularly of the Siamese breed, and is often associated with the feeding of owner compiled, meat-rich diets. Classic rickets is now a rare clinical entity. Hypertrophic osteodystrophy is regularly seen in the larger breeds of dog and the aetiology remains obscure. Hypervitaminosis A associated with liver-rich diets is often encountered in the cat. Hypovitaminosis A has been described but its true clinical significance is unknown.
