A comparative study of the performance characteristics of five multiple access configurations for a wireless communication network is presented and evaluated within the context of the medical field of application. A universal variable has been defined for comparison between the alternative configurations, embodying the data rate, number of channels, power consumption, and bandwidth requirements. Special medical specifications have been accommodated, while the broader applications of this approach have been addressed. CDMA is indicated as the preferred method, over ALOHA, slotted ALOHA, CSMA, and polling.  相似文献

Energy-efficient wireless communication network design is an important and challenging problem. Its difficulty lies in the fact that the overall performance depends, in a coupled way, on the following subsystems: antenna, power amplifier, modulation, error control coding, and network protocols. In addition, given an energy constraint, improved operation of one of the aforementioned subsystems may not yield better overall performance. Thus, to optimize performance one must account for the coupling among the above subsystems and simultaneously optimize their operation under an energy constraint. In this article we present a generic integrated design methodology that is suitable for many kinds of mobile systems and achieves global optimization under an energy constraint. By pointing out some important connections among different layers in the design procedure, we explain why our integrated design methodology is better than traditional design methodologies. We present numerical results of the application of our design methodology to a situational awareness scenario in a mobile wireless network with different mobility models. These results illustrate the improvement in performance that our integrated design methodology achieves over traditional design methodologies, and the tradeoff between energy consumption and performance.  相似文献

Conventional linear multicast can be constructed on any acyclic network by increasing the order of the finite field to a sufficiently large amount over which the multicast is defined. In this paper, we first discuss the reciprocal theorem of the conventional linear multicast and design a linear multicast on any give acyclic network with constant finite field by extending the multicast dimension and relaxing the constraint on the information storage. In particular, we propose the binary linear multicast network coding and the linear multicast with binary coefficients. With the proposed method, the computation complexity for network coding at the intermediate nodes can be significantly reduced; therefore cheap network nodes can be deployed in a large scale due to their low cost for wireless communications. In addition, some applications of the proposed binary linear multicast network coding in wireless communication networks are illustrated and validated.  相似文献

针对虚拟化移动核心网的任务调度问题进行研究。Min-Min调度算法是一个简单、快速、有效的算法,但是它很难满足移动用户对服务质量的要求。提出一种基于虚拟机响应时间的改进算法。在虚拟机与元任务映射过程中,首先按照Min-Min算法进行匹配,然后计算每个与元任务匹配的虚拟机的响应时间,将任务划分为满足响应时限和不满足两部分,对满足响应时限的任务进行调度,为不满足调度响应时限的任务重新分配一个空闲的虚拟机中执行时间最短的虚拟机,尽最大可能避免任务执行时间超出响应时限,导致任务调度失败,进而影响用户满意度。在虚拟机和元任务一定的情况下,分别仿真这两种算法的调度过程,得到任务完成时间、任务成功率和负载情况图,对仿真实验结果进行对比分析。  相似文献

In wireless network convergence, each mobile host is expected to have multiple kinds of wireless interfaces. Multicast‐based applications are expected to be widely deployed. In this paper, a new network selection scheme is proposed for a mobile host to select the most appropriate wireless access network to maximize user satisfaction and ISP's profit, simultaneously. We have devised a metric to measure a user's satisfaction and we also developed a ‘normalized network resource’ metric for system profit measure. We have compared our scheme with three other reference schemes, through simulations. Depending on the network deployment situations, our scheme exhibits one‐fifth service disruption time of other reference schemes, while the resource consumption of our scheme is comparable to that of the minimum resource scheme. Overall, the gain of our scheme becomes higher as users move faster and/or the population density increases. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

针对中国海军海上大型编队发展趋势以及编队通信需求,在研究认知无线电Ad H..技术的基础上,构建了基于认知无线电和Ad Hoc网络技术的海上大型编队无线通信网络,分析了其网络框架、频率分配以及频谱检测策略.研究结果表明,论文构建的海上大型编队无线通信网络能够有效解决海上大型编队通信存在的空间范围大、外界干扰多、电磁环境变化快、平台机动性强等问题,具有较好的理论研究价值和军事应用前景.  相似文献
