This paper proposes an efficient hybrid technique for the system modeling and the optimal energy management of the MG with low cost. The novelty of the proposed approach is the combination of the ANFIS and MDA named as ANFMDA that performs the decision making with the multi-objective problem. Moreover, the proposed method is the cost-effective power production of the microgrids and effective utilization of renewable energy sources without wasting the available energy. The strategy is worried about the mathematical optimization problems that include in excess of one objective function to be optimized at the same time. The MDA algorithm optimizes the MG configuration at minimum fuel cost to take care of the required load demand by using the inputs of MG like WT, PV array, MT, and ESS with corresponding cost functions. In the proposed approach, the ANFIS learning phase is employed to predict the load demand. Based on the predicted load demand the minimum annual fuel cost characteristics, the operation cost and also the replacement cost is decreased with all the subsequent points of the MDA. The performance of the proposed method is examined by comparison with the other techniques such as ABC algorithm, DA, and HOMER. The comparison results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed technique and confirm its potential to solve the problem.  相似文献

Energy production in India during 2017–2018 has increased by 5.71%, while 7.39% in 2019, as per the Energy Statistics of India. Due to the ever-increasing demand, Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are used to meet the power demand with low cost and emission. In India, the power generation capacity of micro-hydropower is limited to 1.8% (19749 MW) of the total potential reserve. The conventional turbines may not effectively harness energy for the micro-hydropower system. Traditional turbines are ideally suited for applications requiring a low discharge with a high head or a high discharge with a low head. However, they are futile in ultra-low head implementations. In order to enhance the electricity production from perennial/tidal sources, the Gorlov Helical Turbine (GHT) is suggested. This paper presented a design and analysis of garlov helical hydro turbine on index of revolution. GHT with a diameter and height of 0.600 m is designed for a micro-hydropower system. Nine 3D-GHT's with a diameter and height of 0.600 m is modelled based on varying indices of revolution. The effect of the index of revolution on the performance of the GHT is examined through simulation, MATLAB and field-testing. By analysing the outcomes, it is observed that 0.25 remains the optimum value for the index of revolution of the helix. The output power obtained by MATLAB, SolidWorks simulation and field-testing is 1.175W, 0.951W and 0.657W, respectively.  相似文献

This paper aims at presenting a comparative analysis of different metaheuristic algorithms in the application of energy management for fuel cell-based hybrid emergency power unit within electrical aircraft. Two energy management conventional strategies are employed while optimizing the operating temperature. Both the external energy maximization and the equivalent consumption minimization strategies are dealt with. The most efficient up-to-date metaheuristic techniques such as the artificial bee colony, the grey wolf optimization, the cuckoo search, the mine blast algorithm, the whale optimization algorithm, the moth swarm algorithm, the harmony search, the modified flower pollination algorithm and the electromagnetic field optimization are considered. The overall index of optimization performance is considered as a function of hydrogen consumption, overall system efficiency, variations of states of charge and stresses in different energy sources. The numerical simulations, through Matlab™/Simulink, highlights the capability of the different metaheuristic optimization techniques towards reducing the amount of consumed hydrogen in fuel cell-based emergency power unit in electrical aircrafts. The electromagnetic field optimization method results in significant hydrogen consumption reduction in comparison with the other proposed techniques.  相似文献

This paper examines the current state of the art of hydrogen refuelling stations-based production and storage systems for fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles (FCHEV). Nowadays, the emissions are increasing rapidly due to the usage of fossil fuels and the demand for hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS) is emerging to replace the conventional vehicles with FCHEVs. Hence, the availability of HRS and its economic aspects are discussed. In addition, a comprehensive study is presented on the energy storage systems such as batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells which play a major role in the FCHEVs. An energy management system (EMS) is essential to meet the load requirement with effective utilisation of power sources with various optimizing techniques. A detailed comparative analysis is presented on the merits of Reinforcement learning (RL) for the FCHEVs. The significant challenges are discussed in depth with potential solutions for future work.  相似文献

Using CCHP systems (combined cooling, heating, and power) as an environmentally friendly and economical procedure of energy generation has taken a step towards cost reduction and proper management of energy sources in the contemporary era, due to the fact that the air pollution, energy crisis as well as its expensive supply has become an overarching problem. In this study, a novel method for the design optimization of a CCHP system is represented. The gas turbine used as the study's primary engine is intended for a rural setting in Guilin, China. Energetic, exergetic, environmental, and economic characteristics are the four key metrics used to evaluate the method's success. For higher accuracy and convergence, a new improved version of Weighted mean of vectors algorithm (IINFO) is used. In order to demonstrate the method's increased efficiency, the accomplishments of the recommended IINFO-based methodology are compared with those of the genetic and modified owl optimizers.  相似文献

This paper deals with the emission reduction in synthesis-gas production by better integration and increasing the energy efficiency of a high-temperature co-electrolysis unit combined with the Fischer-Tropsch process. The investigated process utilises the by-product of Fischer-Tropsch, as an energy source and carbon dioxide as a feedstock for synthesis gas production. The proposed approach is based on adjusting process streams temperatures with the further synthesis of a new heat exchangers network and optimisation of the utility system. The potential of secondary energy resources was determined using plus/minus principles and simulation of a high-temperature co-electrolysis unit. The proposed technique maximises the economic and environmental benefits of inter-unit integration. Two scenarios were considered for sharing the high-temperature co-electrolysis and the Fischer-Tropsch process. In the first scenario, by-products from the Fischer-Tropsch process were used as fuel for a high-temperature co-electrolysis. Optimisation of secondary energy sources and the synthesis of a new heat exchanger network reduce fuel consumption by 47% and electricity by 11%. An additional environmental benefit is reflected in emission reduction by 25,145 tCO2/y. The second scenario uses fossil fuel as a primary energy source. The new exchanger network for the high-temperature co-electrolysis was built for different energy sources. The use of natural gas resulted in total annual costs of the heat exchanger network to 1,388,034 USD/y, which is 1%, 14%, 116% less than for coal, fuel oil and LPG, respectively. The use of natural gas as a fuel has the lowest carbon footprint of 7288 tCO2/y. On the other hand, coal as an energy source has commensurable economic indicators that produce 2 times more CO2, which can be used as a feedstock for a high-temperature co-electrolysis. This work shows how in-depth preliminary analysis can optimise the use of primary and secondary energy resources during inter-plant integration.  相似文献

For this study, a spatially and temporally resolved optimization model was used to investigate and economically evaluate pathways for using surplus electricity to cover positive residual loads by means of different technologies to reconvert hydrogen into electricity. The associated technology pathways consist of electrolyzers, salt caverns, hydrogen pipelines, power cables, and various technologies for reconversion into electricity. The investigations were conducted based on an energy scenario for 2050 in which surplus electricity from northern Germany is available to cover the electricity grid load in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).A key finding of the pathway analysis is that NRW's electricity demand can be covered entirely by renewable energy sources in this scenario, which involves CO2 savings of 44.4 million tons of CO2/a in comparison to the positive residual load being covered from a conventional power plant fleet. The pathway involving CCGT (combined cycle gas turbines) as hydrogen reconversion option was identified as being the most cost effective (total investment: € 43.1 billion, electricity generation costs of reconversion: € 176/MWh).Large-scale hydrogen storage and reconversion as well as the use of the hydrogen infrastructure built for this purpose can make a meaningful contribution to the expansion of the electricity grid. However, for reasons of efficiency, substituting the electricity grid expansion entirely with hydrogen reconversion systems does not make sense from an economic standpoint. Furthermore, the hydrogen reconversion pathways evaluated, including large-scale storage, significantly contribute to the security of the energy supply and to secured power generation capacities.  相似文献

Alkaline water electrolysis is the most promising approach for the industrial production of green hydrogen. This study investigates the dynamic operational characteristics of an industrial-scale alkaline electrolyzer with a rated hydrogen production of 50 m3/h. Strategies for system control and equipment improvement in dynamic-mode alkaline electrolytic hydrogen production are discussed. The electrolyzer can operate over a 30%–100% rated power load, thereby facilitating high-purity (>99.5%) H2 production, competitive DC energy efficiency (4.01–4.51 kW h/Nm3 H2, i.e., 73.1%–65.0% LHV), and good gas–liquid fluid balance. A safe H2 content of 2% in O2 (50% LFL) can be guaranteed by adjusting the system pressure. In transient operation, the electrolyzer can realize minute-level power and pressure modulation with high accuracy. The results confirm that the proposed alkaline electrolyzer can absorb highly fluctuating energy output from renewables because of its capability to operate in a dynamic mode.  相似文献

Demand for fossil fuels is increasing day by day with the increase in industrialization and energy demand in the world. For this reason, many countries are looking for alternative energy sources against this increasing energy demand. Hydrogen is an alternative fuel with high efficiency and superior properties. The development of hydrogen-powered vehicles in the transport sector is expected to reduce fuel consumption and air pollution from exhaust emissions. In this study, the use of hydrogen as a fuel in vehicles and the current experimental studies in the literature are examined and the results of using hydrogen as an additional fuel are investigated. The effects of hydrogen usage on engine performance and exhaust emissions as an additional fuel to internal combustion gasoline, diesel and LPG engines are explained. Depending on the amount of hydrogen added to the fuel system, the engine power and torque are increased at most on petrol engines, while they are decreased on LPG and diesel engines. In terms of chemical products, the emissions of harmful exhaust gases in gasoline and LPG engines are reduced, while some diesel engines increase nitrogen oxide levels. In addition, it is understood that there will be a positive effect on the environment, due to hydrogen usage in all engine types.  相似文献

Considering the high calorific value and low-carbon characteristics of hydrogen energy, it will play an important role in replacing fossil energy sources. The production of hydrogen from renewable energy sources for electricity generation and electrolysis of water is an important process to obtain green hydrogen compared with classic low-carbon hydrogen production methods. However, the challenges in this process include the high cost of liquefied hydrogen and the difficulty of storing hydrogen on a large scale. In this paper, we propose a new route for hydrogen storage in metals, namely, electricity generation from renewable energy sources, electrolysis to obtain metals, and subsequent hydrogen production from metals and water. Metal monomers facilitate large-scale and long-term storage and transportation, and metals can be used as large-scale hydrogen storage carriers in the future. In this technical route, the reaction between metal and water for hydrogen production is an important link. In this paper, we systematically summarize the research progress, development trend, and challenges in the field of metal to hydrogen production. This study aim to aid in the development of this field.  相似文献

This paper investigates the economics of a fuel cell bus fleet powered by hydrogen produced from electricity generated by a wind park in Austria. The main research question is to simultaneously identify the most economical hydrogen generation business model for the electric utility owning wind power plants and to evaluate the economics of operating a fuel cell bus fleet, with the core objective to minimize the total costs of the overall fuel supply (hydrogen production) and use (bus and operation) system. For that, three possible operation modes of the electrolyzer have been identified and the resulting hydrogen production costs calculated. Furthermore, an in-depth economic analysis of the fuel cell buses as well as the electrolyzer technology has been conducted. Results show that investment costs are the largest cost factor for both technologies. Thus, continuous hydrogen production with the smallest possible electrolyzer is the economically most favorable option. In such an operation mode (power grid), the costs of production per kg/H2 were the lowest. However, this means that the electrolyzer cannot be solely operated with electricity from the wind park, but is also dependent on the electricity mix from the grid. For fuel cell buses, the future cost development will depend very much on the respective policies and funding programs for the market uptake, as to date, the total cost of use for the fuel cell bus is more than two times higher than the diesel bus. The major final conclusion of this paper is that to make fuel cell electric busses competitive in the next years today severe policy interferences, such as subsidies for these busses as well as electrolyzers and bans for fossil energy, along with investments in the setup of a hydrogen infrastructure, are necessary.  相似文献

Airport ground operations have a great impact on the environment. Various innovative solutions have been proposed for aircraft to perform taxi movements by deactivating their main engines. Although these solutions are environmentally beneficial, onboard and external electric taxiing solutions that are actively used and planned to be used in airports are not completely carbon-free. The disadvantages of the existing solutions can be alleviated by using an external fuel cell hybrid power unit to meet the energy required for taxiing that does not put additional weight on the aircraft. To reveal the power and energy required by the system, Airbus A320-200, which is a narrow-body aircraft and frequently used in airports, has been considered in this study. To determine the physical requirements of the aircraft for taxiing, a total of 900 s taxi-out movement consisting of four different periods with different runway slope, headwind, and maximum speeds were examined. According to the determined physical requirements, the conceptual design of the proposed fuel cell battery system was created and the physical data of the system for each period were obtained using the Matlab Simulink environment. As a result of the simulation, it is seen that the system consumes approximately 1.96 g of hydrogen per second. In addition, it has been calculated that 578.34 kg of CO2 is emitted during the taxi-out movement. The results also show that as a result of using the proposed system, approximately 14.6 million tons of CO2 emission per year can be prevented.  相似文献

In this work a techno economic feasibility study is carried out to implement a Hydrogen based Power to Gas to Power (P2G2P) in a Microgrid, located in a rural area in Baja California, Mexico. The study aims to define the feasibility to store energy throughout seasons with this novel alternative using an electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen from excess renewable energy in winter, to store it during months and re inject it to the grid as electricity by a fuel cell in the high energy demanding season. The Microgrid was modeled in Homer software and simulations of the P2G2P lead to Levelized Cost of Energy data to compare between the P2G2P scenarios and the current diesel-battery based solution to complete the high demand by the community. This study shows that using hydrogen and fuel cells to substitute diesel generators it is possible to reduce CO2 emissions up to a 27% and that in order for the P2G2P to be cost competitive, the fuel cell should reduce its cost in 50%; confirming that, in the medium to long term, the hydrogen storage system is a coherent alternative towards decarbonization of the distributed energy generation.  相似文献

Heavy fossil fuels consumption has raised concerns over the energy security and climate change while hydrogen is regarded as the fuel of future to decarbonize global energy use. Hydrogen is commonly used as feedstocks in chemical industries and has a wide range of energy applications such as vehicle fuel, boiler fuel, and energy storage. However, the development of hydrogen energy in Malaysia is sluggish despite the predefined targets in hydrogen roadmap. This paper aims to study the future directions of hydrogen economy in Malaysia considering a variety of hydrogen applications. The potential approaches for hydrogen production, storage, distribution and application in Malaysia have been reviewed and the challenges of hydrogen economy are discussed. A conceptual framework for the accomplishment of hydrogen economy has been proposed where renewable hydrogen could penetrate Malaysia market in three phases. In the first phase, the market should aim to utilize the hydrogen as feedstock for chemical industries. Once the hydrogen production side is matured in the second phase, hydrogen should be used as fuel in internal combustion engines or burners. In the final phase hydrogen should be used as fuel for automobiles (using fuel cell), fuel-cell combined heat and power (CHP) and as energy storage.  相似文献

Energy systems are increasingly exposed to variable surplus electricity from renewable sources, particularly photovoltaics. This study estimates the potential to use surplus electricity for power-to-gas with geo-methanation for Switzerland by integrated energy system and power-to-gas modelling. Various CO2 point sources are assessed concerning exploitable emissions for power-to-gas, which were found to be abundantly available such that 60 TWh surplus electricity could be converted to methane, which is the equivalent of the current annual Swiss natural gas demand. However, the maximum available surplus electricity is only 19 TWh even in a scenario with high photovoltaic expansion. Moreover, making this surplus electricity available for power-to-gas requires an ideal load shifting capacity of up to 10 times the currently installed pumped-hydro capacity. Considering also geological and economic boundary conditions for geo-methanation at run-of-river and municipal waste incinerator sites with nearby CO2 sources reduces the exploitable surplus electricity from 19 to 2 TWh.  相似文献

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the development of zero-emissions, sustainable energy systems utilising the potential of hydrogen energy technologies. However, the improper long-term economic assessment of costs and consequences of such hydrogen-based renewable energy systems has hindered the transition to the so-called hydrogen economy in many cases. One of the main reasons for this is the inefficiency of the optimization techniques employed to estimate the whole-life costs of such systems. Owing to the highly nonlinear and non-convex nature of the life-cycle cost optimization problems of sustainable energy systems using hydrogen as an energy carrier, meta-heuristic optimization techniques must be utilised to solve them. To this end, using a specifically developed artificial intelligence-based micro-grid capacity planning method, this paper examines the performances of twenty meta-heuristics in solving the optimal design problems of three conceptualised hydrogen-based micro-grids, as test-case systems. Accordingly, the obtained numeric simulation results using MATLAB indicate that some of the newly introduced meta-heuristics can play a key role in facilitating the successful, cost-effective development and implementation of hydrogen supply chain models. Notably, the moth-flame optimization algorithm is found capable of reducing the life-cycle costs of micro-grids by up to 6.5% as compared to the dragonfly algorithm.  相似文献

Hydrogen energy is widely regarded as one of the most promising clean energy sources for carbon emissions reduction due to its high-grade energy and complete clean combustion. Since the mechanism of the production process is difficult to elucidate and efficient production cannot be maintained at all times, it has the disadvantages of instability and low efficiency of production processes. The forecasting results can help the biomass based hydrogen production process to adjust the material input in time, thus ensuring a stable and efficient production. Therefore, to solve those problems, the dynamic hydrogen production yield forecasting model based on the Discrete Grey Method (DGM) and the Gradient Boosting Regression Tree (GBRT) has been proposed. The results show that the forecasting results of the GBRT based model have a strong correlation with the input data, while the DGM based model can eliminate some unreasonable forecasting results. Thus, the proposed model can get good forecasting results in different scenarios since its MAE is 0.2. To verify the proposed model, five widely used forecasting models are used as the contrasting models. The forecasting results show that it has the highest precision and has no uncertainty results.  相似文献

Power-to-Gas (PtG) is a grid-scale energy storage technology by which electricity is converted into gas fuel as an energy carrier. PtG utilizes surplus renewable electricity to generate hydrogen from Solid-Oxide-Cell, and the hydrogen is then combined with CO2 in the Sabatier process to produce the methane. The transportation of methane is mature and energy-efficient within the existing natural gas pipeline or town gas network. Additionally, it is ideal to make use of the reverse function of SOC, the Solid-Oxide-Fuel-Cell, to generate electricity when the grid is weak in power. This study estimated the cost of building a hypothetical 100-MW PtG power plant with energy storage and power generation capabilities. The emphasis is on the effects of SOC cost, fuel cost and capacity factor to the Levelized Cost of Energy of the PtG plant. The net present value of the plant is analyzed to estimate the lowest affordable contract price to secure a positive present value. Besides, the plant payback period and CO2 emission are estimated.  相似文献

Natural H2 in useful quantities is negligible, which makes hydrogen unsuitable as an energy resource compared to other fuels. H2 production by solar, biological, or electrical sources needs more energy than obtained by combusting it. Lower generation of pollutants and better energy efficiency makes hydrogen a potential energy carrier. Hydrogen finds potential applications in automobile and energy production. However, the cost of producing hydrogen is extremely high. Chemical-looping technology for H2 generation has caught widespread attention in recent years. This work, presents some recent findings and provides a comprehensive overview of different chemical looping techniques such as chemical looping reforming, syngas chemical looping, coal direct chemical looping, and chemical looping hydrogen generation method for H2 generation. The above processes are discussed in terms of the relevant chemical reactions and the associated heat of reactions to ascertain the overall endothermicity or exothermicity of the H2 production. We have compared the H2 yield data of different Fe/Ni, spinel and perovskites-based oxygen carriers (OC) reported in previous literature. This review is the first comprehensive study to compare the H2 yield data of all the previously reported oxygen carriers as a function of temperature and redox cycles. In addition, the article summarizes the characteristics and reaction mechanisms of various oxygen carrier materials used for H2 generation. Lastly, we have reviewed the application of Density Function Theory (DFT) to study the effect of various dopant addition on the efficiency of H2 production of the oxygen carriers and discussed ASPEN simulations of different chemical looping techniques.  相似文献

One of the main challenges associated with utilisation of the renewable energy is the need for energy storage to handle its intermittent nature. Power-to-Gas (PtG) represents a promising option to foster the conversion of renewable electricity into energy carriers that may attend electrical, thermal, or mechanical needs on-demand. This work aimed to incorporate a stochastic approach (Artificial Neural Network combined with Monte Carlo simulations) into the thermodynamic and economic analysis of the PtG process hybridized with an oxy-fuel boiler (modelled in Aspen Plus®). Such approach generated probability density curves for the key techno-economic performance indicators of the PtG process. Results showed that the mean utilisation of electricity from RES, accounting for the chemical energy in SNG and heat from methanators, reached 62.6%. Besides, the probability that the discounted cash flow is positive was estimated to be only 13.4%, under the set of conditions considered in the work. This work also showed that in order to make the mean net present value positive, subsidies of 68 €/MWelh are required (with respect to the electricity consumed by PtG process from RES). This figure is similar to the financial aids received by other technologies in the current economic environment.  相似文献
