This article presents new piecewise-affine (PWA) and piecewise-linear (PWL) ? controller synthesis methods for uncertain PWA slab systems. The synthesis problems are formulated as convex programs subject to a set of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs), which can then be solved efficiently using available software. No other synthesis methods available in the literature can design a PWA controller for an uncertain PWA system using convex optimisation without constraining the controller gain matrix. Therefore this is the main contribution of the article. The proposed controller synthesis methodologies are applied to a circuit example.  相似文献

Stability analysis and synthesis of fuzzy singularly perturbed systems   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8
In this paper, we investigate the stability analysis and synthesis problems for both continuous-time and discrete-time fuzzy singularly perturbed systems. For continuous-time case, both the stability analysis and synthesis can be parameterized in terms of a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). For discrete-time case, only the analysis problem can be cast in LMIs, while the derived stability conditions for controller design are nonlinear matrix inequalities (NMIs). Furthermore, a two-stage algorithm based on LMI and iterative LMI (ILMI) techniques is developed to solve the resulting NMIs and the stabilizing feedback controller gains can be obtained. For both continuous-time and discrete-time cases, the reduced-control law, which is only dependent on the slow variables, is also discussed. Finally, an illustrated example based on the flexible joint inverted pendulum model is given to illustrate the design procedures.  相似文献

This paper proposes output feedback controller design methods for uncertain piecewise linear systems based on piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function. The α-stability of closed-loop systems is also considered. It is shown that the output feedback controller design procedure of uncertain piecewise linear systems with α-stability constraint can be cast as solving a set of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). The BMIs problem in this paper can be solved iteratively as a set of two convex optimization problems involving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be solved numerically efficiently. A numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed methods.  相似文献

This paper considers a linear system under nested saturation. Nested saturation arises, for example, when the actuator is subject to magnitude and rate saturation simultaneously. A condition is derived in terms of a set of auxiliary feedback gains for determining if a given ellipsoid is contractively invariant. Moreover, this condition is shown to be equivalent to linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) in the actual and auxiliary feedback gains. As a result, the estimation of the domain of attraction for a given set of feedback gains can be formulated as an optimization problem with LMI constraints. By viewing the feedback gains as extra free parameters, the optimization problem can be used for controller design.  相似文献

In multi-rate sampled-data systems, a continuous-time plant is controlled by a discrete-time controller which is located in the feedback loop between sensors with different sampling rates and actuators with different refresh rates. The main contribution of this paper is to propose sufficient Krasovskii-based stability and stabilization criteria for linear sampled-data systems, with multi-rate samplers and time driven zero order holds. For stability analysis, it is assumed that an exponentially stabilizing controller is already designed in continuous-time and is implemented as a discrete-time controller. For each sensor (or actuator), the problem of finding an upper bound on the lowest sampling frequency (or refresh rate) that guarantees exponential stability is cast as an optimization problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, sufficient conditions for controller synthesis are formulated as LMIs. It is shown through examples that choosing the right sensors (or actuators) with adequate sampling frequencies (or refresh rates) has a considerable impact on stability of the closed-loop system.  相似文献

This paper considers robust performance analysis and H X controller design for a class of systems with time-varying and nonlinear uncertainties. These uncertainties are allowed to exist not only in the state, but also in the control input, measurement output, exogenous input and derivative of state. A new sufficient condition based on LMI is first provided to analyse the robust H X performance problem of the free systems. For the general case, it is shown that a solvability condition for the output feedback control problem can be reduced to that of a set of LMIs with algebraic constraints. Then it is shown that in some cases, the constraints can be eliminated through simplifications and the output feedback controller design methods can be provided in terms of LMIs. In particular, two special cases of the systems with nonlinear uncertainties are discussed thoroughly and the design procedures of output feedback controllers are provided via typical LMIs. Furthermore, for a class of systems with both structured and nonlinear uncertainties, a new solvability condition is presented and the corresponding problem also cast into that of an auxiliary system without uncertainties. A few examples are also given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.  相似文献

This paper investigates the problem of robust ?? static output feedback controller design for a class of discrete‐time piecewise‐affine systems with norm‐bounded time‐varying parametric uncertainties. The objective is to design a piecewise‐linear static output feedback controller guaranteeing the asymptotic stability of the resulting closed‐loop system with a prescribed ?? disturbance attenuation level. Based on a piecewise Lyapunov function combined with S‐procedure, Projection lemma, and some matrix inequality convexifying techniques, several novel approaches to the static output feedback controller analysis and synthesis are developed for the underlying piecewise‐affine systems. It is shown that the controller gains can be obtained by solving a set of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) or a family of LMIs parameterized by one or two scalar variables, which are numerically efficient with commercially available software. Finally, three simulation examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper presents a new synthesis method for both state and dynamic output feedback control of a class of hybrid systems called piecewise-affine (PWA) systems. The synthesis procedure delivers stabilizing controllers that can be proven to give either asymptotic or exponential convergence rates. The synthesis method builds on existing PWA stability analysis tools by transforming the design into a closed-loop analysis problem wherein the controller parameters are unknown. More specifically, the proposed technique formulates the search for a piecewise-quadratic control Lyapunov function and a piecewise-affine control law as an optimization problem subject to linear constraints and a bilinear matrix inequality. The linear constraints in the synthesis guarantee that sliding modes are not generated at the switching. The resulting optimization problem is known to be hard, but suboptimal solutions can be obtained using the three iterative algorithms presented in the paper. The new synthesis technique allows controllers to be designed with a specified structure, such as a combined regulator and observer. The observers in these controllers then enable switching based on state estimates rather than on measured outputs. The overall design approach, including a comparison of the synthesis algorithms and the performance of the resulting controllers, is clearly demonstrated in four simulation examples.  相似文献

Manufacturing systems: LMI approach   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
This note deals with the control of production systems that produce many part types with limited capacity. First, a simple model is used to show that the inventory control problem can be solved using modern control theory. A state feedback controller that forces the cumulative production of the system to track precisely the cumulative demand is proposed. The tracking problem is formulated as an H/sub /spl infin// control problem and the synthesis of the gains of the state feedback controller that guarantees the H/sub /spl infin// tracking performance of the equivalent dynamics is done by solving a given set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). A numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the developed results. The simple model is then extended to include real facts like inspection and processing times.  相似文献

This work considers the problem of stabilization of nonlinear systems subject to state and control constraints, for cases where the state constraints need to be enforced at all times (hard constraints) and where they can be relaxed for some time (soft constraints). We propose a Lyapunov-based predictive control design that guarantees stabilization and state and input constraint satisfaction for all times from an explicitly characterized set of initial conditions. An auxiliary Lyapunov-based analytical bounded control design is used to characterize the stability region of the predictive controller and also provide a feasible initial guess to the optimization problem in the predictive controller formulation. For the case when the state constraints are soft, we propose a switched predictive control strategy that reduces the time during which state constraints are violated, driving the states into the state and input constraints feasibility region of the Lyapunov-based predictive controller. We demonstrate the application of the Lyapunov-based predictive controller designs through a chemical process example.  相似文献

This paper proposes the output feedback optimal guaranteed cost controller design method for uncertain piecewise linear systems based on the piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions technique. By constructing piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions for the closed‐loop augmented systems, the existence of the guaranteed cost controller for closed‐loop uncertain piecewise linear systems is cast as the feasibility of a set of bilinear matrix inequalities (BMIs). Some of the variables in BMIs are set to be searched by genetic algorithm (GA), then for a given chromosome corresponding to the variables in BMIs, the BMIs turn to be linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the corresponding non‐convex optimization problem, which minimizes the upper bound on cost function, reduces to a semidefinite programming (SDP) which is convex and can be solved numerically efficiently with the available software. Thus, the output feedback optimal guaranteed cost controller can be obtained by solving the non‐convex optimization problem using the mixed algorithm that combines GA and SDP. Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the problem of non-fragile positive real control for uncertain neutral delay systems with time-invariant norm-bounded parameter uncertainty. Time delays are assumed to appear in both the state and the controlled output equations. The state feedback gains are with norm-bounded controller uncertainties. For both the cases with additive and multiplicative controller uncertainties, we address the problem of designing memoryless state feedback controllers such that, for all admissible uncertainties, the resulting closed-loop system is stable and the closed-loop transfer function is extended strictly positive real. Sufficient conditions for the existence of desired controllers are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). When these LMIs are feasible, the expected memoryless state feedback controller can be easily constructed via convex optimization. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This note focuses on a class of stochastic time-delay nonlinear systems. The problem we address is to design a controller such that the closed-loop system is exponentially stable. It is shown that the stabilization via state feedback can be solved by a Lyapunov-based recursive design method.  相似文献

In this paper, a synthesis of model predictive control (MPC) algorithm is presented for uncertain systems subject to structured time‐varying uncertainties and actuator saturation. The system matrices are not exactly known, but are affine functions of a time varying parameter vector. To deal with the nonlinear actuator saturation, a saturated linear feedback control law is expressed into a convex hull of a group of auxiliary linear feedback laws. At each time instant, a state feedback law is designed to ensure the robust stability of the closed‐loop system. The robust MPC controller design problem is formulated into solving a minimization problem of a worst‐case performance index with respect to model uncertainties. The design of controller is then cast into solving a feasibility of linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization problem. Then, the result is further extended to saturation dependent robust MPC approach by introducing additional variables. A saturation dependent quadratic function is used to reduce the conservatism of controller design. To show the effectiveness, the proposed robust MPC algorithms are applied to a continuous‐time stirred tank reactor (CSTR) process.  相似文献

This paper addresses the disturbance rejection problem for singularly perturbed switched systems subject to actuator saturation. We focus our attention on the synthesis of feedback control laws to achieve disturbance rejection for the systems. By using the average dwell‐time approach together with the piecewise Lyapunov function technique, sufficient conditions for the existence of a controller are derived in terms of LMIs, which are independent of the singular perturbation parameter ε. Some convex optimization problems are formulated to get a larger estimate of the basin of attraction and a better disturbance rejection ability. The state‐feedback controller depends on the singular perturbation parameter ε, but it is shown to be well posed for all ε∈(0,ε0]. In addition, if ε is sufficiently small, the ε‐dependent controller can be reduced to an ε‐independent one. Finally, a hydraulic servoposition system is used to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the obtained results.  相似文献

This article investigates the problem of designing H dynamic output feedback controllers for nonlinear systems, which are described by affine fuzzy models. The system outputs have been chosen as premise variables, which can guarantee that the plant and the controller always switch to the same region. By using a piecewise Lyapunov function and adding slack matrix variables, a piecewise-affine dynamic output feedback controller design method is obtained in the formulation of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be efficiently solved numerically. In contrast to the existing work, the proposed approach needs less LMI constraints and leads to less conservatism. Finally, numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the new result.  相似文献
