The Idea of ＂Architecture Stage＂： A Non-material Architecture Theory

The purpose of this study is to find ＂the new theory＂ in the process of having quality ＂form＂ in architecture field which is usually visualized by the ruler through his ideology of his architectural work which is created by his architects. The study is about an urban design in architectural field related with space-power-knowledge. To reveal the meaning of the architecture objects is need to analyze the architectural object ＂form＂ as the culture-material, and to reveal the meaning of the objects through the hidden things related to the presence of the metaphysical data. To find ＂the new theory＂ used ＂grounded theory research＂, the method is part of qualitative research which refers to Glaser and Strauss. The achievement study is finding the idea of＂architecture stage＂ of the ruler, represented by Soekamo as the first Indonesian President. Through visual observation and spatial experiences in his several architectural works concerning the ＂Project＇s Lighthouse＂ as his architectural work in Jakarta in the 1960s the idea of connectedness was found. He composes his architecture＇s work by inserted the ＂architecture drama analogy＂ as metaphor for representing himself and his ideologist by exploring the Javanese Ancient＇s as the basic design in the modem architecture at that time the east meet west.

I believe that architecture is the richest and sturdiest of all arts. These qualities grow from the firm roots that each project has on a site, on the techniques of construction, and on the specific functions and goals of the people who will inhabit the future building. Architects must respond appropriately to the demands of the specific circumstances of each project, and in the process try to make the final product, the building, into a work of art.

从Presence in Architecture到现实

Landscape Architecture人才培养分析与建议

通过对中美之间LA人才培养回顾和现状分析，提出我国LA人才培养方略：明确LA与建筑学、城市规划是3个独立学科，建议在国内LA教学中建立一批核心课程，加强基本知识学习和基本技能训练，在重点综合大学内设立设计研究生院(GSD)，开设不同层次要求的LA研究生课程，制定LA培养计划，并实行LA行业准入制度，与国际接轨，培养出一批能参与国际竞争的LA人才。     

The ‘Place’ of Cosmopolitan Architecture

The paper takes as its point of departure the necessity to open a space between the international and the national. That space will be as much political as will be one that allows for a certain architecture. For the sake of argumentation that space has been identified as the cosmopolitan. What characterises the cosmopolitan is the possibility that it is the form of modernity once the modem has been freed from the oscillation between the national and the international. Once modernity is introduced then the question to be addressed is not what is modern architecture but what is the architecture of modernity. Part of the argument developed here is that a beginning can be made once it is understood that modernity has to eschew the symbol. And yet, the symbols that proliferate are either national or international. Consequently, this gives rise to a complex interplay between the cosmopolitan, modernity and the possibility of an architecture that is non-symbolic. The question of how to think this complex set of relations is the project undertaken by the paper.     

Presence in Architecture与空间的公共性

正在卒姆托《思考建筑》一书中描述了很多关于空间里声音和感触的内容。Presencein Architecture这一概念提醒着我们,空间在使用之外所具有的传达感受的能力,而这种能力是基于记忆和全方位的感受。很多时候建筑的创作源自这样的记忆和感受,建筑师也希望其作品能唤起使用者内心的共鸣,高明的"Presence"往往不着痕迹却意味深长。几年前造访台湾宜兰樱花陵园的时候很清晰地感受到了这一点。山上雾霭微微升起时,远山若隐若现,站在石头的挑檐下远眺有一种模糊天地的飘渺感,感觉那些粗糙石头的运用是那么恰当,让我联想起在西藏看到的玛尼堆和远山。好多年过去了,关于墓园的模样已经不太清晰,但是那一瞬间的感受还记得,建筑师黄声远一定也曾站在那片山坡上眺望远方。还有一次倍感惊喜的经历是在坐落于湖边山下的巴瓦设计的坎达拉玛遗产酒店,到达时正好是傍晚,走进入口的弧形通道回望时突然发现金色的阳光撒满了墙面,而令人诧异的是阳光泛着水波纹,原来光线来自湖面的反射,我不禁一怔。后面游客的影子被拉得长长地投射在墙面上,波光粼粼中     

“中国建筑”不是“Architecture”——反思150年Architecture对中国建筑的冲击

Evolutionary Architecture? Some Perspectives From Biological Design

Architects' view of nature tends to rest on the assumption that it is inherently efficient in its use of materials and energy, and essentially ingenious and elegant in its solutions. This perception in science is one that has been propounded through Darwinism: the notion that refinement of ‘design’ is achieved through repetitive selection, variation and mutation. The renowned biologist J Scott Turner argues here that there is little evidence that living design actually comes about in this way. Instead, looking to Darwin's French contemporary Claude Bernard and his theory of homeostasis, he proposes that living systems converge on effective design much faster and more predictably than a simple regime of natural selection alone would suggest. 关于Landscape Architecture一词的演变与翻译

由于对Landscape Architecture一词理解不同而引发的争论，已经持续很长时间了。观其原因，主要是不同学者之间学术观点的分歧所致，其中也包含了对该词演变过程的背景及史料掌握与了解的程度不同。试图从园林史的角度，对该词演变过程的史料进行一些探究和梳理，特别是对Landscape Garden和Landscape Architecture两个词的来源及关系进行了探究，并在此基础上对Landscape Architecture的翻译提出了自己的见解，即在目前的情况下，应该继续采用“风景园林”的译法，避免在学术界内部及社会上造成不必要的纠纷与误解。
