In this article, a double‐T‐shaped stub centrally loaded uniform impedance resonator (UIR) is introduced and its resonant characteristics are well clarified, which provided a simple approach for triple‐mode wideband bandpass filter (BPF) design. The double‐T‐shaped stub consists of a T‐shaped stub at the center of UIR and two shunt uniform‐impedance stubs at the T‐shaped stub. Furthermore, loading technique for zero‐voltage point is employed to guide design procedure from UIR to the proposed resonator. The resonant frequencies of the first three modes for the resonator can be free to adjust by the length of the UIR and the two kinds of stub. Finally, a compact wideband BPF is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured results are in good agreement with the full‐wave simulation results. The realized wideband filter exhibits a 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 69.1% with good in‐band filtering performance, wide stopband, and sharp out‐of‐band rejection skirt.  相似文献

A leaky‐wave antenna (LWA) with high gain and wide beam‐scanning angle is proposed in this article using a novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) composite left/right‐handed transmission line (CRLH TL). The novel SIW‐CRLH TL is analyzed and the equivalent circuit model is also provided. Considering the continuous phase constant of the balanced SIW‐CRLH TL from negative to positive values, the proposed LWA can obtain a continuous beam steering property from backward to broadside to forward. For verification, a periodic LWA, which is comprised of 10 unit cells of the balanced SIW‐CRLH TL, is fabricated and measured. The measured and simulated results agree well, showing that the proposed periodic LWA operates from has continuous beam‐scanning capabilities of about 90° from backward to forward (including the broadside) with gains of better than 10 dB within the operating band. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A coplanar waveguide‐fed metamaterial antenna is presented for ultra‐wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed antenna is designed with single unit‐cell composite right/left‐handed transmission line (CRLH‐TL) loaded with a split‐ring resonator (SRR). The UWB characteristic is obtained by merging the zeroth‐order resonance of CRLH‐TL with two additional resonances due to the ground plane and SRR respectively. Subsequently, a partial reactive impedance surface is embedded on the rear side of the proposed antenna to enhance the realized gain without affecting the UWB response. The overall size of the antenna is 0.241λo x 0.267λo x 0.013λo (28.8 x 32 x 1.6 mm3), where λo is the free space wavelength at 2.51 GHz. The measured results indicate –10 dB fractional bandwidth of 139.19% (2.51‐14 GHz) with realized gains of 2.3, 4.6, and 6 dBi at the resonant frequencies 4, 7.84, and 10.29 GHz respectively. The measured peak realized gain is 6.6 dBi at 10.6 GHz. The radiation efficiency is above 63.85% for the entire UWB range with a peak value of 86.84%. A fairly stable group delay with variation within 1 ns is obtained throughout the operating frequency band. A good agreement has been observed between the measured and simulated results.  相似文献

A novel compact wideband filter using three‐mode dual‐ring resonator is presented in this article. The resonator is constructed by two quarter wavelength transmission lines and a cascaded half wavelength dual‐ring. Formulae based on even‐ and odd‐mode analysis are derived to analyze the locations of the transmission poles and zeros of the resonator. Due to the transmission zeros in the lower and upper stopbands, the proposed filter exhibits sharp attenuations near the passband as well as very wide stopband. The filter is successfully realized by full wave EM simulation and fabricated. The measured responses of the filter agree well with the design simulation, and show that the fabricated filter has an insertion loss of better than 1.5 dB in the passband and two rejections of greater than 20 dB in the stopbands from 0 to 10GHz.  相似文献

A high selectivity wide passband filter with a broader stopband based on transversal signal‐interaction concepts and modified branch line structure (MBLS) is developed in this article. Two transmission paths, that is, one half‐wavelength transmission line and one MBLS, are used to realize signal transmission from Port 1 to Port 2. Then, two transmission zeros are introduced at both lower and upper sides of the passband, which are used to improve the passband selectivity greatly. The filter bandwidth can be easily controlled by reasonable adjusting the coupling coefficient of the coupled lines. Furthermore, with four stubs connected at the input/output ports, the stopband attenuation level is improved greatly. Finally, one prototype filter having 69.1% of 3 dB fractional bandwidth is fabricated with advantages of sharp selectivity and high out‐of‐band rejection. The EM simulated and measured results are presented, and an excellent agreement can be obtained. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 25:330–336, 2015.  相似文献

A wideband composite right/left handed transmission line (CRLH TL) in conjunction with its corresponding equivalent circuit model is studied based on a cascaded complementary single split ring resonator (CCSSRR).The characterization is performed by theory analysis, circuit simulation, and full-wave electromagnetic (EM) simulation. The negative refractive index (NRI) and backward wave propagation performance of the CRLH TL are demonstrated. For application,a bandpass filter (BPF) with enhanced out-of-band selectivity and harmonic suppression operating at the wireless local area network (WLAN) band is designed, fabricated, and measured by combining the CRLH TL with a complementary electric inductive-capacitive resonator (CELC).Three CELC cells with wideband stopband performance in the conductor strip and ground plane, respectively, are utilized in terms of single negative permeability. The design concept has been verified by the measurement data.  相似文献

A compact low‐cost lowpass filter (LPF) with sharp roll‐off and wide attenuation band using stepped impedance resonator loaded with interdigital fingers and U‐shaped resonator is recommended in this article. The proposed LPF has a cut‐off frequency of 1.2 GHz with a sharp roll‐off 135 dB/GHz and passband insertion loss 0.35 dB. An array of two different shapes of defected ground structures are etched in the ground plane for introducing additional transmission zeroes to enhance the stopband performance. The relative stopband suppression is achieved up to 171% with a suppression factor of 2. The proposed structure is modelled, fabricated, and measured. The measurement results are found to be well‐matched with the simulated ones. Eventually, a high figure of merit of 21 600 is achieved.  相似文献

This paper describes the design and evaluation of a highly selective wideband microstrip bandpass filter with a near brick‐shaped transmission response and a very wide stopband characteristic. The proposed filter structure excites multimode resonances that combine to realize a wideband filter response and excited too are transmission zeros that create a highly selective filter with wideband suppression in the upper and lower stopbands. The filter configuration comprises electromagnetically coupled resonators that are stub loaded. The input and output feedlines are interdigitally coupled to the resonators. Measured results confirm the low‐loss and via‐free wideband filter exhibits an elliptical response with a wide stopband with a rejection greater than 30 dB. The selectivity factor and stopband performance of the proposed filter is better than that obtained with the high‐temperature superconductor (HTS) filters. Design of the filter is relatively simple and easy to manufacture using standard PCB technology. There is good correlation between the simulation and measured results. The proposed wideband bandpass filter is suitable for applications in high interference environments and cognitive radio systems.  相似文献

The folded multiple‐mode resonators with complementary split ring resonator (CSRR), and defected ground structures (DGS) are introduced for notched ultrawideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) design in this article. Using the CSRR, FMRR, notched wide‐band BPF, a notch response can exist in the UWB passband for blocking the interference. Adjusting the size factor of CSRR, the wide tuning ranges of notch frequencies included the desired frequencies of 5.2/5.8 GHz are achieved. The lower insertion loss (0.31 dB), higher rejection level (?48.40 dB), wider bandwidth (FBW 75%), and wider stopband (extended to 2.01 f0 below ?20 dB rejection level) of UWB band at the central frequency f0 = 4.58 GHz are obtained. Second, design a CSRR, DGS, FMRR, tri‐notched UWB filter, the wider bandwidth (3.1–9.8 GHz) with FBW = 126%, lower insertion loss (0.26 dB), and higher rejection level (?44 dB) of UWB band at central frequency f0 = 5.6 GHz are presented. Using the CSRR and interdigital couple, three notch responses can exist in the UWB passband for blocking the interference signals. Adjusting the size factor of CSRR and interdigital couple, the wide tuning ranges of notch frequencies included the desired frequencies of 5.18/6.10/8.08 GHz are achieved. The wide tuning ranges of three notched frequencies cover from 5.0 to 8.4 GHz. It is a simple way to control the notch responses. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this article, a compact double‐layer microstrip ultra‐wideband (UWB) filtering power divider with high selectivity and isolation is proposed. The filtering power divider consists of a multimode resonator at the top layer coupled with a pair of branch lines at the bottom through a slotline in the middle ground. The slotline provides strong coupling between the two layers and equally distributes the power to two branch lines. The resistor loaded about a quarter‐wavelength away from the slotline achieves high isolation within UWB range. The UWB filtering properties with controllable transmission poles and zeros as well as power splitting with enhanced isolation have been analyzed. The adjustable transmission zeros of the filter unit enables the bandwidth control of the filtering power divider. Finally, a UWB filtering power divider operating at 3.1 to 10.6 GHz has been designed, fabricated, and measured. It achieves a compact size of only 26 × 28 mm2, high isolation about 20 dB, and good out‐of‐band suppression of 40 dB.  相似文献

A novel composite right‐/left‐handed transmission line (CRLH TL) and its equivalent circuit model are proposed based on cascaded complementary single split ring resonator (CCSSRR). It features an intrinsically balanced wider band and an additional transmission zero above the right‐handed band relative to CRLH TL using complementary single split ring resonator and complementary split ring resonators. Moreover, two single negative (SN) metamaterial (MTM) TLs constructed by using complementary electric inductive‐capacitive resonator on the conductor strip and on the ground, respectively, are researched. Both SN MTM TLs exhibit electric resonance above the fundamental magnetic resonance. For application, a monoband (MB) bandpass filter (BPF) covered WLAN band, and a dual‐band (DB) BPF covered satellite DMB band and WiMAX band are designed, fabricated, and measured. The SN MTM TLs are adopted for the sake of deep and wide out‐of‐band suppression while CRLH MTM TLs using square‐shaped and Sierpinski‐shaped CCSSRR are critical factors of the MB and DB behavior. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A coupled‐line band‐pass filter (BPF) with T‐shaped stub structure is presented. Five transmission poles within the passband and eight deep transmission zeros (TZs) from 0 to 2f0 (f0 denotes filter's center frequency) are realized through input impedance calculations. With the simple T‐shaped structure, the positions of six TZs can be appropriately adjusted to achieve high frequency selectivity and stopband rejection. For demonstration, a BPF prototype centered at 2.05 GHz is designed and fabricated, whose measured rejection levels are of over 45.5 dB at lower stopband and better than 19.5 dB at upper stopband. The simulation and measurement results are in good agreement, which validates the design idea.  相似文献

In this paper, a compact novel simple design of ultra‐wide bandpass filter with high out of band attenuation is presented. The filter configuration is based on combining an ultra‐wide band composite right/left‐handed (CRLH) band pass filter (BPF) with simple uni‐planar configuration of complementary split ring resonator (UP‐CSRR). By integrating two UP‐CSRR cells, the ultra‐wideband CRLH filter roll‐off and wide stopband attenuation are enhanced. The filter has 3 dB cutoff frequencies at 3.1 GHz and 10.6 GHz with insertion loss equals 0.7 dB in average and minimum and maximum values of 0.48 dB and 1.05 dB, respectively over the filter passband. Within the passband. The transition band attenuation from 3 dB to 20 dB is achieved within the frequency band 1.9 GHz to 3.1 GHz (48%) at lower cutoff and the frequency band 10.6 GHz to 11.4 GHz (7%) at upper stopband. Moreover, the filter has a wide stopband attenuation >20 dB in frequencies 11 GHz to 13.6 GHz (21%) and ends with 3 dB cutoff frequency at 14.8 GHz. Furthermore, the designed filter size is very compact (23 × 12 mm2) whose length is only about 0.17 λg at 6.85 GHz. The filter performance is examined using circuit modeling, full‐wave simulations, and experimental measurements with good matching between all of them.  相似文献

In this study, a novel high selective UWB band pass filter (BPF) with dual notch band is presented. UWB BPF is realized using stub‐loaded multiple‐mode resonator (MMR). The MMR is constructed by loading a quintuple mode open stub at the centre in an asymmetric tri‐section stepped impedance resonator (ATSSIR). Five modes, including two odd modes and three even modes, placed within UWB band. Two transmission zeros generated by the fractal stub improve the passband selectivity greatly. Two half wavelength long fractal Hilbert resonators are embedded near I/O line to achieve notch bands at 5.1 and 5.9 GHz. Aperture‐backed interdigital coupled‐lines are implemented to improve the coupling. The proposed prototype is fabricated and tested. The measured insertion loss is observed to be within 1.5 dB over the passband. By virtue of two transmission zeros (TZs), on either side of the passband, at 5.1 and 5.9 GHz, respectively, the passband selectivity is achieved with measured roll‐off factor at around 34 dB/octave. The out‐of‐band rejection of the filter is greater than 22 dB up to 18 GHz. The simulated results are in good agreement with the measured responses.  相似文献

An ultra‐wideband compact bandpass filter (BPF) with configurable stopband by tuning transmission zeroes is proposed in this paper. The ultra‐wideband bandpass response is based on a diamond‐shape resonator consisting of a pair of broadside coupled diamond‐shape microstrip lines, within which a diamond shape defected ground structure (DGS) is etched in the middle. Flexible transmission zeros realized by open and short stubs can be easily adjusted to improve band selectivity and harmonic suppression. Measurement result shows that the dedicated device has a 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 148% (0.94‐6.36 GHz) with 20 dB rejection stopband from 6.87 to 9.7 GHz (77.5%) which agrees good with the simulate performance. The overall size of the proposed BPF is 0.27 λg × 0.23 λg.  相似文献

A novel technique is presented to design highly compact microstrip ultra‐wideband (UWB) bandpass filters that exhibit high selectivity quasi‐elliptical response. The design is based on transversal signal‐interaction concepts that enable the inclusion of single or dual notch‐bands within the filter's passband to eliminate interference from other services that coexist within the UWB spectrum. The filter configuration comprises of two transmission paths which include folded T‐shaped stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) that are capacitively coupled with the input/output lines to enable signal transmission. It is shown that by combining the filters of different passband centre frequencies an UWB filter can be realised with either a single‐ or dual‐notch function. The theoretical performance of the filter is corroborated via measurements to confirm that the proposed filter exhibits UWB passband of 123% for a 3 dB fractional bandwidth, a flat group‐delay with maximum variation of less than 0.3 ns, passband insertion loss less than 0.94 dB, high selectivity, a sharp rejection notch‐band with attenuation of ?23 dB, and a good overall out‐of‐band performance. Furthermore, the filter occupies a significantly small area of 94 mm2 compared with its classical counterparts. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 24:549–559, 2014.  相似文献

In this study, a novel stepped impedance resonator (SIR) is proposed. This SIR is composed of two stepped impedance transmission‐lines and an interdigital capacitor structure. The proposed resonator has a high ratio of the first spurious frequency fs to the fundamental frequency f0 and is suitable to design wide stopband filters. An equivalent model is used to analyze the resonant properties of the resonator. The design guidelines of the proposed resonator are summarized. Moreover, the coupling properties of the resonator are simulated and analyzed. Finally, a small high‐temperature superconducting bandpass filter is designed and fabricated using the proposed SIRs. The stopband of the filter is extended up to 4.0 f0 and 3.5 f0 with 30 and 60 dB out‐of‐band rejection levels, respectively.  相似文献

In this article, a wideband leaky‐wave antenna is designed for consistent gain and wide beam scanning angle by using the proposed multilayered substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) composite right/left‐handed transmission line (CRLH TL). The proposed SIW CRLH structure consists of two parts: an interdigital fingers slot of rotating 45° etched on the upper ground of the SIW, and a rotated parasitic patch beneath the slot. Due to the continuous phase constants change from negative to positive values of the proposed SIW‐CRLH under the balanced condition, the designed LWA can achieves a continuous beam‐scanning property from backward to forward over the operating frequency band. The designed antenna is fabricated and measured, the measured and simulated results are in good agreements with each other, indicating that the designed antenna obtains a measured continuous main beam scanning from backward ?78° to forward +76° over the frequency range from 7.7 to 12.8 GHz with a consistent gain of more than 9.5 dB. Besides, the designed antenna also exhibits a measured 3‐dB gain bandwidth of 45.1% with maximum gain of 15 dB. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 26:731–738, 2016.  相似文献

A novel dual‐mode optimized patch capacitor loaded T‐type resonator is proposed for the design of a dual‐band filter (DBF). The resonator has its lowest even‐ and odd‐mode at the two expected passband frequencies and the first spurious mode far away from the passbands. For tuning of the two sets of coupling strengths for both passbands, open/shorted secondary coupling structures are introduced as a fine‐tuning coupling structure to increase/decrease the primary coupling strength. A four‐pole DBF with passbands centered at 2450 and 3500 MHz, respectively, is proposed and fabricated using the HTS material. The measured results of the filter indicate superior performance and good fitting with the simulation results. The return losses of both passbands and the insertion losses obtained by measurements are greater than 14 dB and less than 0.3 dB, respectively. The stopband rejection exceeds 50 dB up to 8.0 GHz.  相似文献
