Abstract: Investor is an investment advising hybrid expert system which incorporates two of the most powerful techniques developed in artificial intelligence, the connectionist and the logic programming paradigms, in a unified model. Investor employs a neural network model to detect the interest rate trends and a rule-based component to classify the user into the appropriate investor model. The investor model and the interest rate information are then used by the knowledge base to infer the appropriate investment strategy. Genetic algorithms and classifier systems were employed to train and configure the architecture of Investor's neural network component.  相似文献

Due to the worsening national economy, labour market analysis will receive increasing attention in the near future. This article describes an operating Decision Support (DSS) and Expert System (ES) for labour market analysis and its designing process. The DSSES is designed following the process of Pictorial Approach to modelling, and it provides researchers with timely and credible analysis of labour market information. This DSSES uses graphic presentation to delineate employment trends and magnitude, and it takes into consideration the special needs of business research centers by its implementations via spreadsheet application to improve the learning curve. By applying rule indices directly in the spreadsheet, the ES integrates with the DSS fully, and the decision makers are able to retain access to the historical data for ad hoc computations.  相似文献

In interactive, image-guided surgery, current physical space position in the operating room is displayed on various sets of medical images used for surgical navigation. We have developed a PC-based surgical guidance system (ORION) which synchronously displays surgical position on up to four image sets and updates them in real time. There are three essential components which must be developed for this system: (1) accurately tracked instruments; (2) accurate registration techniques to map physical space to image space; and (3) methods to display and update the image sets on a computer monitor. For each of these components, we have developed a set of dynamic link libraries in MS Visual C++ 6.0 supporting various hardware tools and software techniques. Surgical instruments are tracked in physical space using an active optical tracking system. Several of the different registration algorithms were developed with a library of robust math kernel functions, and the accuracy of all registration techniques was thoroughly investigated. Our display was developed using the Win32 API for windows management and tomographic visualization, a frame grabber for live video capture, and OpenGL for visualization of surface renderings. We have begun to use this current implementation of our system for several surgical procedures, including open and minimally invasive liver surgery.  相似文献

A comprehensive expert system design is presented for all problem-solving aspects of statistical process control. Issues concerning the integration of monitoring, interpreting, diagnosing, planning, and statistical consulting for statistical process control are addressed. All aspects of the expert system are discussed. In addition, a new similarity measure useful in a clustering approach to the knowledge organization is proposed. An example session is presented which diagnoses a cyclic pattern in a surface-finishing operation.  相似文献

Investigation of heart rate variability is the subject of considerable interest in physiology, clinical medicine, and clinical pharmacology. The functional assessment of the autonomic nerve system by observation of its main actors, the sympathetic and parasympathetic branch, is emphasizing the importance of autonomic regulation under different physiological circumstances, in several disease states, and under drug therapy. This paper describes a PC-based system designed with LabView that performs time-domain and frequency-domain analyses of heart rate variability as suggested by the guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. Examples for heart rate variability are given for different physiological states along with an analysis and evaluation by the system described.  相似文献

Abstract: The Trainee Teacher Support System (TTSS) is a computer based advisory system for trainee teachers. Development work, in the form of a feasibility study, has been conducted over the past three years. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the application of expert systems technology and artificial intelligence techniques to the formalisation of experienced teachers' knowledge of classroom practice. The domain chosen is that of the school based 'teacher-tutor', responsible for guiding and advising the trainee teacher. The TTSS embodies a model of processes which underly classroom events. It has a knowledge base of rules, accumulates a database of facts and has a rule implementation program. It is undergoing continued development in order to capture the teacher-tutor's understanding of classroom dynamics on a finer timescale.  相似文献

Mental health problems have always existed in human life. However, factors such as lifestyle changes and industrialization affect modern human mental health. A common mental illness is depressive disorder, and a large number of patients are not even aware they have it. Due to the harmful influences of depressive disorder on quality of life, timely and accurate diagnosis is a matter of extreme prominence. The aim of this study is to design a web-based expert system for diagnosing depression using the fuzzy Delphi method by estimating the weights and importance of depression symptoms. Fuzzy Logic is adopted to calculate the level of depression. Two thresholds are obtained, namely lack of depression and severe depression. Finally, the level of depression for each person is estimated by virtue of the calculated value’s proximity to these two opposing points. Java Expert System Shell is used to build the knowledge base. Sensitivity and specificity analysis are performed with 238 participants. The proposed system appears helpful for everyone, from ordinary persons to specialists in medical environments. It can also be useful to train psychology students in the area of diagnostic reasoning.  相似文献

A student advising expert system has been developed using the EXSYS Professional expert system shell. The motivation of using a commercially-available expert system shell is presented. Examples of IF-THEN-ELSE type of rules are shown. Interrelation of the knowledge base with class offerings, and with the structure of the B.Sc. program in Computer Science is demonstrated. In recent years several expert systems have been developed for practical applications in applied statistical methodologies. Existing expert systems in statistics have explored several areas, e.g., the determination of appropriate statistical tests, regression analysis, and determination of the “best” experimental design for industrial screening experiments. The DESIGN EXPERT, a prototype expert system for the design of complex statistical experiments is presented here. It is intended for scientific investigators and statisticians who must design and analyze complex experiments, e.g., multi-level medical experiments with nested factors, repeated measures, and both fixed and random effects. This system is “expert” in the sense that it is able to (i) recognize specific types of complex experimental designs, based on the application of inference rules to nontechnical information supplied by the user; (ii) encode the obtained and inferred information in a flexible general-purpose internal representation, for use by other program modules; (iii) generate analysis of variance tables for the recognized design and an appropriate Biomedical Computer Programs runfile for data analysis, using the encoded information. DESIGN EXPERT can recognize randomized block designs, including lattice designs within embedded Latin Squares, crossover designs, split plots, nesting, repeated measures, and covariates. It is written in an experimental programming language developed specifically for research in Artificial Intelligence.  相似文献

A system is described running on any IBM-compatible personal computer operating under MS-DOS which permits an expert in pediatric dysmorphology to formulate dysmorphic features and syndromes in a knowledge base, and a user to enter, analyze, store and retrieve case data. For each case, the system calculates the Bayesian probability of the presence of each syndrome in the knowledge base and lists as the differential diagnosis those syndrome whose probability exceeds 90%. For explanatory purposes, the syndrome definitions can be displayed and compared to the case data. The system has been tested and used in the Department of Clinical Genetics at Uppsala University Hospital. The current scope of the system's knowledge was found to be of valuable assistance to the pediatric practitioner but it must be expanded and refined for use by a clinical geneticist. This study has shown the validity of the system's design and structure and further work is under way to extend its knowledge capability.  相似文献

针对单一依靠人工检修压制观瞄装置而导致的效率低下的问题,提出一种压制观瞄装置故障诊断专家系统.采用基于粗糙集理论的改进可区别矩阵(IDM)属性约简算法和建立故障树的方式来实现专家系统的知识获取,解决专家系统知识获取的瓶颈问题;提出一种改进的正向推理算法来设计专家系统的推理机,使得推理过程更加直观高效.实际诊断结果表明:此故障诊断专家系统能够快速、准确地对故障部位做出判断,并能给出故障原因和相应的维修建议,进而证明了该故障诊断专家系统设计的可靠性.  相似文献

针对激光标刻应用中激光及振镜控制、光电输入检测、生产线速度检测等特殊需求,提出了一种基于计算机PCI总线的激光标刻系统控制卡的设计方案。应用该方案设计的控制卡集检测、控制于一体,采用复杂可编程逻辑控制器件(CPLD)为核心的译码控制电路,具有在线编程的能力,适合飞行标刻在内的广泛激光标刻控制系统。该设计方案提高了标刻系统的稳定性及标刻速度,在实际应用中取得了很好的效果。  相似文献

This paper presents a case study of using simulation in planning a new Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing system. The process simulation technique and expert system are proposed to evaluate the design alternatives and logistics management. Simulation results, such as machine utilisation, waiting time, and throughput of system are generated for evaluation. Simulation models were developed using software package SIMPROCESS, which is based on the concept of visual interactive simulation. Besides, the formation of the models is assisted by the expert system package VP-EXPERT. Each approach was found to accurately model the PCB manufacturing plant layout, provide operational and logistics performance in terms of throughput, waiting time, and resource utilisation, and provide a basis for suggesting the best modes of logistics operation.  相似文献

The growth and advancement in the Internet and the World Wide Web has led to an explosion in the amount of available information. This staggering amount of information has made it extremely difficult for users to locate and retrieve information that is actually relevant to their task at hand. Dealing with this problem of “information overload” will need tools to customize the information space. In this paper we present MASACAD, a multi-agent system that learns to advise students by mining the Web and discuss important problems in relationship to information customization systems and smooth the way for possible solutions. The main idea is to approach information customization using a multi-agent paradigm in combination with a number of aspects from the domains of machine learning, user modeling, and Web mining.  相似文献
