A high-repetition-rate eye-safe optical parametric oscillator(OPO),using a non-critically phase-matched KTP crystal intracavity pumped by a passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/Cr4 :YAG laser,is experimentally demonstrated.The conversion efficiency for the average power is 7% from pump diode input to OPO signal output and the slope efficiency is up to 10.3%.With an incident pump power of 7.3 W.the compact intracavity OPO(IOPO)cavity,operating at 15 kHz,produces an average power of 0.57 W at 1570 nm with a pulse width as short as 6 ns.The peak power at 1570 nm is higher than 6.3 kW.  相似文献

An efficient diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:GdVO4/Cr4+:YAG laser was employed to generate a high-repetition-rate, high-peak-power eye-safe laser beam with an intracavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on a KTP crystal. The conversion efficiency for the average power is 8.3% from pump diode input to OPO signal output and the slope efficiency is up to 10%. At an incident pump power of 14.5 W, the compact intracavity OPO cavity, operating at 46 kHz, produces average powers at 1571 nm up to 1.2 W with a pulse width as short as 700 ps. A method of generating 1.57 μm pulse-series eye-safe laser based on optical parametric oscillator (OPO) was developed. The 1.57 μm pulse-series OPO was pumped by a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with a variable reflectivity unstable resonator. Every pulse-series includes three micro-pulses, and the pulse repetition rates, pulse numbers and pulse intervals were adjustable. The maximum output energy of the 3-micro-pulse-series was 274 mJ. The optical-optical efficiency of the OPO was about 40%.  相似文献

We have studied an optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with an unstable telescopic cavity, placed inside the cavity of an actively Q-switched multimode Nd3+:KGW pump laser. We used a KTP crystal as the nonlinear medium for the OPO. We have compared the emission characteristics of OPOs with unstable telescopic and planar cavities. We have established that compared with the planar cavity, the unstable cavity reduces the OPO beam divergence and improves the spatial distribution of the radiation energy in the far wave zone. Based on our investigations, we have designed a compact eye-safe (λ = 1.578 μm) laser source with natural cooling, emitting (for electrical pumping energy 7.3 J) pulses with pulse energy 22 mJ and pulse duration 6 nsec. We have experimentally studied the lasing characteristics of an eye-safe optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with an unstable telescopic cavity when it is placed inside (intracavity OPO) and outside (extracavity OPO) the plane-parallel cavity of a pulsed, nearly single-mode KGW:Nd pump laser. We used a KTP crystal as the nonlinear medium for the OPO. We have shown that the intracavity OPO has the higher lasing efficiency. We have observed that the distribution of nonlinear losses introduced by the intracavity OPO, nonuniform over the cavity cross section, leads to an increase in the diameter and divergence of the radiation beam from the pump laser and a dependence of its temporal lasing dynamics on the transverse beam coordinate. We propose a physical model qualitatively explaining the spatial and temporal lasing dynamics of a radiation source with an intracavity OPO. Both OPO versions generate beams of radiation with about the same divergence. When the KGW:Nd laser has an electrical pumping energy of 7.3 J and a cavity length of 77 cm, the intracavity OPO and the extracavity OPO emit pulses with energies of 14.5 mJ and 12.0 mJ and duration 18 nsec and 13 nsec respectively. The generation properties of an optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with a three-mirror ring resonator have been investigated under conditions of a pulsed pump by multimode radiation from a Nd3+:YAG laser. KTP crystals were used as the OPO nonlinear medium. At pump energies up to 100 mJ, decreasing the diameter d of the Nd3+:YAG laser beam causes a decrease in OPO radiation divergence and an increase in the generation efficiency at λ = 1.571 μm despite a decrease in the differential efficiency. At d = 2.25 mm and a KTP crystal total length of 40 mm, the efficiency of the pump conversion to the signal-wave pulse reaches 36.5%. Based on the traveling-wave OPO, a compact, highly effective, eye-safe laser source radiating pulses of up to 35 mJ in energy, 11 nsec in duration, and 10 Hz in repetition rate at electrical pump energy of ≤ 8 J is developed. 针对三维激光雷达在国内有巨大的应用市场,而国外商业三维激光雷达十分昂贵的现状,开发了一种360°连续扫描的便携式三维激光雷达系统。采用一个二维激光扫描仪与高精度转台连接,通过步进电机控制形成三维激光扫描。在分析系统误差来源的基础上,提出了系统误差校正方法,给出了三维坐标精确计算公式。实验结果表明,系统测量精度高,数据质量好。系统作用距离80 m,测距精度可达6 mm,测量速度每秒7256点,可满足室内室外大规模场景三维数据快速获取的需求,而成本仅是国外同类商业三维激光雷达价格的四分之一左右,且重量轻体积小,携带方便。  相似文献

A pulsed optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with intracavity sum frequency mixing was developed generating energies of up to 16 mJ in the 281–293 nm wavelength range. Both OPO process and sum frequency mixing are pumped by the harmonics of a single, medium-sized Nd:YAG laser. The system is characterized by a high overall efficiency (∼4% conversion from 1064 nm to the UV), a very compact set-up and stable and reliable operation. This system was successfully employed to measure tropospheric ozone using the differential absorption lidar (DIAL) technique and shows much promise as a lidar transmitter in airborne case studies as well as in unattended lidar systems for long-term monitoring. An unattended ozone profiling system could already be successfully realized. A compact eye-safe optical parametric oscillator (OPO) using a noncritically phase-matched KTP crystal intracavity pumped by a passively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser is experimentally demonstrated. To enhance the performance of passive Q-switching, a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber crystal is coated as an OPO output coupler in a nearly hemispherical cavity. With an incident pump power of 2.5 W, the compact intracavity OPO cavity, operating at 62.5 kHz, produces average powers at 1573 nm up to 255 mW and peak powers higher than 1 kW. 为获得人眼安全的激光,在一个由激光二极管(LD)阵列侧泵、声光调Q的Nd∶YAG激光器谐振腔中放置一非临界相位匹配的KTP晶体,形成了一个内腔式光学参量振荡器,实现了准连续的1.57 μm激光振荡.通过对单谐振光学参量振荡器阈值公式进行讨论,采用了平凹腔的结构和尽可能短的光学参量振荡器腔长,有效地降低了光学参量振荡器的泵浦阈值.测量了不同声光重复率和不同透射率输出镜下光学参量振荡器输出的各项特性参量.分析了声光重复率和输出镜的透过率对光学参量振荡器的泵浦阈值和输出脉冲波形的影响,并对实验中出现的饱和现象作了解释.当泵浦电流14.5A,声光重复率10 kHz,光学参量振荡器输出镜透过率15%时,在保持单脉冲输出的情况下,获得了1.57 μm激光的最高平均功率输出值1.748 W.  相似文献

采用多模NdYAG激光器泵浦非临界相位匹配的KTP-OPO,获得了光束角2.3 mrad、输出能量400 mJ、平均功率12 W、光-光转换效率40%的1 572 nm激光.泵浦源的参数为能量1 J、重复频率30 Hz.分析认为采用KTP OPO将NdYAG激光器的1 μm激光转换到人眼安全波段的方法是获得1.5 μm激光的最有效的手段之一;非临界相位匹配的KTP OPO的主要优点是大的接受角和无走离,因此即使多纵模激光泵浦情况下也可以获得很高的转换效率.  相似文献

We demonstrated a 3D laser imaging system at 1550 nm with a 1.5-GHz sine-wave gated Geiger-mode InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode (APD). An optical fiber bundle with 100 individual fiber outputs was implemented at the focal plane of the telescope, providing a 2.5-mrad imaging view. The system used single-pixel near-infrared single-photon detector to measure photons at fiber outputs instead of a photon counting array. The 1.5-GHz gated Geiger-mode InGaAs/InP APD with a timing jitter of 290 ps was operated in quasi-continuous mode with detection efficiency of ∼4.3%. We achieved higher than 6-cm surface-to-surface resolution at single-photon level, showing a potential of low-energy and eye-safe laser imaging system for long-distance measurements.  相似文献

A high-repetition-rate eye-safe optical parametric oscillator (OPO), using a non-critically phase-matched KTP crystal intracavity pumped by an acousto-optically (AO) Q-switchedNd:YVO4 laser, is experimentally demonstrated. It is found that the average OPO signal power at 1573 nm can be efficiently increased by increasing the pulse repetition rate. Moreover, the intracavity OPO process effectively shortens the pulse width so that it is in the range 5∼8 ns for pulse repetition rates of 10 to 80 kHz. As a result of the relatively short pulse, the peak power at 1573 nm is higher than 2 kW at a pulse repetition rate of 80 kHz. We demonstrate an efficient and eye-safe wavelength intracavity optical parametric oscillator (OPO),based on a KTP crystal inside a Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser end pumped by a fiber-coupled diode laser. Inthe acousto-optic Q-switched operation with the pulse repetition rate of 10 kHz, a 1572-nm eye-safe laser with the average power of 237 mW at the incident pump power of 5.64 W is obtained. Under the pulse repetition rate of 5 kHz, the signal light with pulse width of 2 ns and peak power of 18.5 kW is achieved.The conversion efficiency of the average power is 4.2% from pump diode to OPO signal output and thesignal pulse duration is about 13 times shorter than that of the depleted pump light.  相似文献

An efficient intracavity single-resonant optical parametric oscillator (OPO) at 1.571-μm eye-safe range using a non-criticaily phase-matched KTP crystal is reported. The OPO is excited by a diode side-pumpedelectro-optic Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 1.064 μm. Signal pulse of 97 mJ and 3.56 ns is obtained under the input electric energy of 2.3 J, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 4.2%, and a repetition rate range of 1--30 Hz.  相似文献

The behaviour of passively Q-switched solid-state lasers containing intracavity optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) is described, and a model to optimize this system‘s performance is developed. Meanwhile, an Nd:YAG laserpumped KTiOPO4 (KTP) intracavity OPO for eye safe laser output is studied experimentally. A Brewster-oriented bis-(4-dimethylaminodithiobenzil)-nickel (BDN) dye film is employed in laser cavity, which plays the double role of a passive Q-switch and a Brewster plate, to Q-switch the light to increase its intensity and polarize the light so that the polarization plane of fundamental irradiation is perpendicular to the Z-axis of KTP serving as the OPO nonlinear crystal, thereby providing type Ⅱ phase matching conditions to generate 1.572μm eye-safe signal laser. Eye-safe signal radiations of 6.6mJ per pulse at 1.572μm wavelength and pulse width as narrow as 6.0ns (FWHM) were obtained. Peak power was up to 1.1MW.  相似文献

We report a compact eye-safe intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO), driven by a diode end-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YVO4/Cr: YAG laser. At the incident diode pump power of 6.2 W and signal pulse repetition rate of 13 kHz, we obtain a minimum signal pulse duration as short as 1.3 ns, holding a pulse compressing factor of 17 with respect to that of the pump, and exhibiting an efficient pulse shortening mechanism. At the same time, the maximum average power of 110 mW and pulse energy of 8.5 μJ for the signal wave are also achieved. In addition, cavity dumping characteristics and the correlation dynamics between the laser and the OPO are qualitatively analyzed.  相似文献

A 1.57 μm eye-safe laser is realized by placing a KTP crystal into a diode-end-pumped, acousto-optically (AO) Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser. For the first time, the 1.06 μm pumping laser with a concave–concave cavity is used to lower the threshold of the intracavity-pumped optical parametric oscillator (IPOPO). The pumping threshold and output characteristics of the OPO are analyzed by changing repetition rate of the AO Q-switch and output mirrors with different transmissivity at 1.57 μm. The results show that the pumping threshold will decrease with the lower output transmissivity and the lower repetition rate, but the narrower output pulse width can be obtained with the higher output transmissivity.  相似文献
