A new diamine 5,5′‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]‐hexahydro‐4,7‐methanoindan ( 3 ) was prepared through the nucleophilic displacement of 5,5′‐bis(4‐hydroxylphenyl)‐hexahydro‐4,7‐methanoindan ( 1 ) with p‐halonitrobenzene in the presence of K2CO3 in N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF), followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C in ethanol. A series of new polyamides were synthesized by the direct polycondensation of diamine 3 with various aromatic dicarboxylic acids. The polymers were obtained in quantitative yields with inherent viscosities of 0.76–1.02 dl g−1. All the polymers were soluble in aprotic dipolar solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc) and N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP), and could be solution cast into transparent, flexible and tough films. The glass transition temperatures of the polyamides were in the range 245–282 °C; their 10% weight loss temperatures were above 468 °C in nitrogen and above 465 °C in air. © 2000 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A novel fluorinated diamine monomer, 2,2‐bis[4‐(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)phenyl]propane (2), was prepared through the nucleophilic substitution reaction of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride with 2,2‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)propane in the presence of potassium carbonate, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C. Polyimides were synthesized from diamine 2 and various aromatic dianhydrides 3a–f via thermal imidization. These polymers had inherent viscosities ranging from 0.73 to 1.29 dL/g. Polyimides 5a–f were soluble in amide polar solvents and even in less polar solvents. These films had tensile strengths of 87–100 MPa, elongations to break of 8–29%, and initial moduli of 1.7–2.2 GPa. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) of 5a–f were in the range of 222–271°C, and the 10% weight loss temperatures (T10) of them were all above 493°C. Compared with polyimides 6 series based on 2,2‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]propane (BAPP) and polyimides 7 based on 2,2‐Bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]hexafluoropropane (6FBAPP), the 5 series showed better solubility and lower color intensity, dielectric constant, and lower moisture absorption. Their films had cutoff wavelengths between 363 and 404 nm, b* values ranging from 8 to 62, dielectric constants of 2.68–3.16 (1 MHz), and moisture absorptions in the range of 0.04–0.35 wt %. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new trifluoromethylated bis(ether amine) monomer, 9,9‐bis[4‐(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)phenyl]xanthene (BATFPX), was prepared through the nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride and 9,9‐bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)xanthene in the presence of potassium carbonate, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C in ethanol. A series of novel fluorinated polyimides were synthesized from BATFPX with various commercially available aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides by one‐step polycondensation in m‐cresol. The resulting polyimides were readily soluble in many organic solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide and tetrahydrofuran, and afforded transparent, flexible and strong films with low moisture absorption (0.28–0.51%), low dielectric constant (2.85–3.26 at 1 MHz) and good optical transparency with UV‐visible absorption cut‐off wavelengths at 352–410 nm. All the polyimides were amorphous and exhibited high thermal stability, with glass transition temperatures of 282–330 °C, 5% weight loss temperatures above 520 °C in nitrogen or air and char yields higher than 55% at 800 °C in nitrogen. Also, these polyimides had good mechanical properties with tensile strengths of 93–118 MPa, elongations at break of 9–16% and initial moduli of 2.07–2.58 GPa. A novel trifluoromethyl‐containing aromatic diamine monomer, 2,5‐bis (4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)biphenyl (2), was prepared through the nucleophilic substitution reaction of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride and phenylhydroquinone in the presence of potassium carbonate to yield the intermediate dinitro compound (1), followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C. A series of fluorinated polyimides (code 5a–f) were synthesized from diamine (2) with six commercially available aromatic dianhydrides using a standard two‐stage process with thermal or chemical imidization of poly(amic acid). Most of fluorinated polyimides showed good solubility at a concentration of 5–10 wt % and even in pyridine and dioxane. For improving solubility of 5c, copolyimides (5c/a–f) were also prepared from 2 and a pair of dianhydrides (3c/a–f), which were mixed in the molar ratio 1:1. All the polyimide films had a tensile strength in the range from 73 to 112 MPa, an elongation at break within a range of 9–23%, and an initial modulus in the range of 1.6–2.2 GPa. These polyimides exhibited glass transition temperatures of 220–267°C and showed no significant decomposition below 500°C under either nitrogen or air atmosphere. In comparison with the analogous nonfluorinated polyimides based on 2,5‐bis (4‐aminophenoxy) biphenyl (2′), the fluorinated polyimides showed better solubility as well as reduced color intensity, lower dielectric constant, and moisture absorption. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel fluorinated bis(ether amine) monomer, 2,6‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy) naphthalene, was prepared through the nucleophilic aromatic substitution reaction of 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride and 2,6‐dihydroxynaphthalene in the presence of potassium carbonate, followed by catalytic reduction with hydrazine and Pd/C in ethanol. A series of novel trifluoromethylated polyimides were synthesized from the diamine with various commercially available aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides using a two‐stage process with thermal imidization of poly(amic acid) films. Most of the resulting polyimides were highly soluble in a variety of organic solvents and could afford transparent and tough films via solution casting. These polyimides exhibited moderately high glass transition temperatures (Tgs) of 249–311 °C, high thermal stability and good mechanical properties. Low moisture (0.19–0.85 %), low dielectric constants (2.49–3.59 at 10 kHz), and low color intensity were also observed. 2,2′‐Position aryl‐substituted tetracarboxylic dianhydrides including 2,2′‐bis(biphenyl)‐4,4′,5,5′‐biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride and 2,2′‐bis[4‐(naphthalen‐1‐yl)phenyl)]‐4,4′,5,5′‐biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride were synthesized. A new series of aromatic polyimides (PIs) were synthesized via a two‐step procedure from 3,3′,4,4′‐biphenyl tetracarboxylic dianhydride and the newly synthesized tetracarboxylic dianhydrides monomers reacting with 2,2′‐bis[4′‐(3″,4″,5″‐trifluorophenyl)phenyl]‐4,4′‐biphenyl diamine. The resulting polymers exhibited excellent organosolubility and thermal properties associated with Tg at 264 °C and high initial thermal decomposition temperatures (T5%) exceeding 500 °C in argon. Moreover, the fabricated sandwich structured memory devices of Al/PI‐a/ITO was determined to present a flash‐type memory behaviour, while Al/PI‐b/ITO and Al/PI‐c/ITO exhibited write‐once read‐many‐times memory capability with different threshold voltages. In addition, Al/polymer/ITO devices showed high stability under a constant stress or continuous read pulse voltage of ? 1.0 V. Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

To investigate the CF3 group affecting the coloration and solubility of polyimides (PI), a novel fluorinated diamine 1,1‐bis[4‐(4‐amino‐2‐ trifluoromethylphenoxy)phenyl]‐1‐phenylethane (2) was prepared from 1,1‐ bis(4‐hydrophenyl)‐1‐phenylethan and 2‐chloro‐5‐nitrobenzotrifluoride. A series of light‐colored and soluble PI 5 were synthesized from 2 and various aromatic dianhydrides 3a–f using a standard two‐stage process with thermal 5a– f(H) and chemical 5a–f(C) imidization of poly(amic acid). The 5 series had inherent viscosities ranging from 0.55 to 0.98 dL/g. Most of 5a–f(H) were soluble in amide‐type solvents, such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP), N,N‐ dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF), and even soluble in less polar solvents, such as m‐Cresol, Py, Dioxane, THF, and CH2Cl2, and the 5(C) series was soluble in all solvents. The GPC data of the 5a–f(C) indicated that the Mn and Mw values were in the range of 5.5–8.7 × 104 and 8.5–10.6 × 104, respectively, and the polydispersity index (PDI) Mw /Mn values were 1.2–1.5. The PI 5 series had excellent mechanical properties. The glass transition temperatures of the 5 series were in the range of 232–276°C, and the 10% weight loss temperatures were at 505–548 °C in nitrogen and 508–532 °C in air, respectively. They left more than 56% char yield at 800°C in nitrogen. These films had cutoff wavelengths between 356.5–411.5 nm, the b* values ranged from 5.0–71.1, the dielectric constants, were 3.11–3.43 (1MHz) and the moisture absorptions were in the range of 011–0.40%. Comparing 5 containing the analogous PI 6 series based on 1,1‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]‐1‐ phenylethane (BAPPE), the 5 series with the CF3 group showed lower color intensity, dielectric constants, and better solubility. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three diimide‐diacids, 2,2‐bis[4‐(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)phenyl]hexafluoropropane ( I‐A ), 2,2‐bis[4‐(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)phenyl]propane ( I‐B ), and 5,5′‐bis[4‐ (4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)phenyl]hexahydro‐4,7‐methanoindan ( I‐C ), were prepared by the azeotropic condensation of trimellitic anhydride with three analogous diamines. Three series of alternating aromatic poly(arylate‐imide)s, having inherent viscosities of 0.41–0.82 dL/g, were synthesized from these diimide‐diacids ( I‐A , I‐B , and I‐C ) with various bisphenols by direct polycondensation using diphenyl chlorophosphate and pyridine as condensing agents. All of the polymers were readily soluble in a variety of organic solvents such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, and even in the less polar tetrahydrofuran. These polymers could be cast into transparent and tough films, which had strength at break values ranging from 73 to 98 MPa, elongation at break from 6 to 11%, and initial modulus from 1.6 to 2.2 GPa. The softening temperatures of the polymers were recorded at 145–248°C. They had 10% weight loss at a temperature above 450°C and left 35–51% residue even at 800°C in nitrogen. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 89: 3818–3825, 2003  相似文献

New aromatic diimide‐dicarboxylic acids having kinked and cranked structures, 2,2′‐bis(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)biphenyl (2a) and 2,2′‐bis(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl (2b), were synthesized by the reaction of trimellitic anhydride with 2,2′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)biphenyl (1a) and 2,2′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl (1b), respectively. Compounds 2a and 2b were characterized by FT‐IR and NMR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. Then, a series of novel aromatic poly(amide‐imide)s were prepared by the phosphorylation polycondensation of the synthesized monomers with various aromatic diamines. Owing to structural similarity, and a comparison of the characterization data, a model compound was synthesized by the reaction of 2b with aniline. The resulting polymers with inherent viscosities of 0.58–0.97 dl g?1 were obtained in high yield. The polymers were fully characterized by FT‐IR and NMR spectroscopy. The ultraviolet λmax values of the poly(amide‐imide)s were also determined. The polymers were readily soluble in polar aprotic solvents. They exhibited excellent thermal stabilities and had 10% weight loss at temperatures above 500 °C under a nitrogen atmosphere. Copyright © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A new kind of pyridine‐containing aromatic diamine monomer, 4‐phenyl‐2,6‐bis[4‐(4‐aminophenoxy)phenyl]‐pyridine (PAPP), was successfully synthesized by a modified chichibabin reaction of benzaldehyde and a substituted acetophenone, 4‐(4‐nitrophenoxy)‐acetophenone (NPAP), followed by a reduction of the resulting dinitro compound 4‐phenyl‐2,6‐bis[4‐(4‐nitrophenoxy)phenyl]‐pyridine (PNPP) with Pd/C and hydrazine monohydrate. The aromatic diamine was employed to synthesize a series of new pyridine‐containing polyimides by polycondensation with various aromatic dianhydrides in N‐methy‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) via the conventional two‐step method, i.e., ring‐opening polycondensation forming the poly (amic acid)s and further thermal or chemical imidization forming polyimides. The inherent viscosities of the resulting polyimides were in the range of 0.79–1.13 dL/g, and most of them were soluble in common organic solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAc), NMP, and tetrahydrofuran (THF), etc. Meanwhile, strong and flexible polyimide films were obtained, which had good thermal stability, with the glass transition temperatures (Tg) of 268–338°C and the temperature at 5% weight loss of 521–548°C in air atmosphere, as well as outstanding mechanical properties with tensile strengths of 89.2–112.1 MPa and elongations at break of 9.5–15.4%. The polyimides also were found to possess low dielectric constants ranging from 2.53 to 3.11. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 104: 212–219, 2007  相似文献

This study presents an investigation on polyimides derived from a unfunctionalized symmetric cyclopentyl‐containing alicyclic cardo‐type dianhydride with ester linkage 1,1‐bis(4‐(3,4‐dicarboxylbenzoyloxy)phenyl)cyclopentylene dianhydride (BDPCP) that was readily accessed starting from cyclopentanone through two steps in high yield. Two series of polyimides, Cardo‐type series (CPI‐x) and analogous aromatic series (ArPI‐x) were prepared from condensation of BDPCP and aromatic 3,3′,4,4′‐Oxydiphthalic dianhydride with four aromatic diamines, respectively. Comparative studies revealed that CPI polymers show more favorable properties including better solubility in organic solvents, higher transparency with lower cut‐off wavelength (λ0) ranging in 395–375 nm than 425–405 nm, lower water absorption ranging in 0.66–1.14% and surface energy 23.71–32.77 mN/m than 1.01–1.28% and 29.52–41.99 mN/m of ArPI analogs. Meanwhile, CPI series exhibit considerable mechanical properties with tensile strengths ranging in 87.6–102.9 MPa, elongations at break 6.6–8.9%. Owing to the moderate strain in cyclopentyl ring, CPI series retain good thermal properties with the glass transition temperature (Tg) in the range of 217–271°C. Dynamic dielectric measurement revealed that Cardo‐type dianhydride BDPCP endows CPI‐4 film with lower dielectric constant (ε′) 3.34 at 1 MHz and 25°C and dielectric loss (ε′′) 0.0064 at 1 kHz and 25°C than 3.49 and 0.013 for ArPI‐4 film. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new kind of aromatic unsymmetrical diamine monomer containing thiazole ring, 2‐amino‐5‐(4‐aminophenyl)‐thiazole (AAPT), was synthesized. A series of novel polyimides were prepared by polycondensation of AAPT with various aromatic dianhydrides by one‐step polyimidation process. The synthesized polyimides had inherent viscosity values of 0.36–0.69 dL/g and were easily dissolved in highly dipolar solvents. Meanwhile, strong and flexible polyimide films were obtained, which have good thermal and thermo‐oxidative stability with the glass transition temperatures (Tg) of 276.7–346.1°C, the temperature at 5% weight loss of 451–492°C in nitrogen and 422–440°C in air, as well as have outstanding mechanical properties with the tensile strengths of 94–122 MPa, elongations at breakage of 5–18%. These films also had dielectric constants of 3.12–3.38 at 10 MHz. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2008  相似文献

A novel, asymmetric diamine, 3‐(4‐aminophenylthio)‐N‐aminophthalimide, was prepared from 3‐chloro‐N‐aminophthalimide and 4‐aminobenzenethiol. The structure of the diamine was determined via IR and 1H‐NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. A series of polyimides were synthesized from 3‐(4‐aminophenylthio)‐N‐aminophthalimide and aromatic dianhydrides by a conventional two‐step method in N,N‐dimethylacetamide and by a one‐step method in phenols. These polyimides showed good solubility in 1‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone, m‐cresol, and p‐chlorophenol, except polyimide from pyromellitic dianhydride, which was only soluble in p‐chlorophenol. The 5% weight loss temperatures of these polyimides ranged from 460 to 498°C in air. Dynamic mechanical thermal analysis indicated that the glass‐transition temperatures of the polyimides were in the range 278–395°C. The tensile strengths at break, moduli, and elongations of these polyimides were 146–178 MPa, 1.95–2.58 GPa, and 9.1–13.3%, respectively. Compared with corresponding polyimides from 4,4′‐diamiodiphenyl ether, these polymers showed enhanced solubility and higher glass‐transition temperatures. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel dianhydride, trans‐1,2‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxyphenoxy)cyclohexane dianhydride (1,2‐CHDPA), was prepared through aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction of 4‐nitrophthalonitrile with trans‐cyclohexane‐1,2‐diol followed by hydrolysis and dehydration. A series of polyimides (PIs) were synthesized from one‐step polycondensation of 1,2‐CHDPA with several aromatic diamines, such as 2,2′‐bis(trifluoromethyl)biphenyl‐4,4′‐diamine (TFDB), bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenyl)ether (TFODA), 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA), 1,4‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)benzene (TPEQ), 4,4′‐(1,3‐phenylenedioxy)dianiline (TPER), 2,2′‐bis[4‐(3‐aminodiphenoxy)phenyl]sulfone (m‐BAPS), and 2,2′‐bis[4‐(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)phenyl]sulfone (6F‐BAPS). The glass transition temperatures (Tgs) of the polymers were higher than 198°C, and the 5% weight loss temperatures (Td5%s) were in the range of 424–445°C in nitrogen and 415–430°C in air, respectively. All the PIs were endowed with high solubility in common organic solvents and could be cast into tough and flexible films, which exhibited good mechanical properties with tensile strengths of 76–105 MPa, elongations at break of 4.7–7.6%, and tensile moduli of 1.9–2.6 GPa. In particular, the PI films showed excellent optical transparency in the visible region with the cut‐off wavelengths of 369–375 nm owing to the introduction of trans‐1,2‐cyclohexane moiety into the main chain. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of polyimide precursors, poly(amic acid)s, containing propyltrimethoxysliane at two chain ends were prepared from 4,4′‐bis(4‐amino‐2‐trifluoromethylphenoxy)biphenyl ( I ) with six commercially available dianhydrides, followed by end‐capping with 3‐aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APrTMOS). A new class of fluorine‐containing polyimide/silica composite films ( III ) with chemical bonds between the fluorinated polyimide backbone and the silica network has been synthesized from the APrTMOS‐terminated precursors with tetramethoxysilane via the sol‐gel process and thermal cyclodehydration. The resultant hybrid films were light‐colored, flexible, and tough. They had high levels of thermal stability associated with high glass‐transition temperatures (>251°C), 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 527°C, and char yields at 800°C in nitrogen higher than 60%. For a comparative study, the analogous nonfluorinated polyimide/silica hybrid films ( III′ ), based on 4,4′‐bis(4‐aminophenoxy)biphenyl ( I′ ), and the neat fluorinated polyimide films ( IV ), based on diamine I , were also synthesized and characterized. The hybrid films of the fluorinated series III showed a higher transparency and less color intensity when compared with the nonfluorinated III′ analogs. They also revealed a lower refraction index and birefringence than pure polyimides ( IV ). © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 104: 4046–4052, 2007  相似文献

A series of novel aromatic polyimides were synthesized from N,N‐di(4‐aminophenyl)‐N′,N′‐diphenyl‐4,4′‐oxydianiline and aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydrides through a conventional two‐step procedure. Most of the polyimides exhibited reasonable solubility in organic solvents and could afford robust films via solution casting. The polyimides exhibited high thermal stability, with glass transition temperatures in the range 227–273 °C and 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 550 °C. All the polyimide films showed ambipolar redox and multi‐electrochromic behaviors. They exhibited two reversible oxidation redox couples at 0.94–0.98 and 1.09–1.12 V versus Ag/AgCl in acetonitrile solution. A coupling reaction between the radical cations of the pendent triphenylamine units occurred during the oxidative process forming a tetraphenylbenzidine structure which resulted in an additional redox state and color change. © 2014 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

4,4′‐Diamino‐3,3′‐dimethyldiphenylmethane was used to prepare polyimides in an attempt to achieve good organo‐solubility and light color. Polyimides based on this diamine and three conventional aromatic dianhydrides were prepared by solution polycondensation followed by chemical imidization. They possess good solubility in aprotonic polar organic solvents such as N‐methyl 2‐pyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethyl acetamide, and m‐cresol. Polyimide from 4,4′‐diamino‐3,3′‐dimethyldiphenylmethane and diphenylether‐3,3′,4,4′‐tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride is even soluble in common solvents such as tetrahydrofuran and chloroform. Polyimides exhibit high transmittance at wavelengths above 400 nm. The glass transition temperature of polyimide from 4,4′‐diamino‐3,3′‐dimethyldiphenylmethane and pyromellitic dianhydride is 370°C, while that from 4,4′‐diamino‐3,3′‐dimethyldiphenylmethane and diphenylether‐3,3′,4,4′‐tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride is about 260°C. The initial thermal decomposition temperatures of these polyimides are 520–540°C. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 72: 1299–1304, 1999  相似文献

A polyfluorinated aromatic diamine, 3,3′, 5,5′‐tetrafluoro‐4,4′‐diaminodiphenylmethane (TFDAM), was synthesized and characterized. A series of polyimides, PI‐1–PI‐4, were prepared by reacting the diamine with four aromatic dianhydrides via a one‐step high‐temperature polycondensation procedure. The obtained polyimide resin had moderate inherent viscosity (0.56–0.68 dL/g) and excellent solubility in common organic solvents. The polyimide films exhibited good thermal stability, with an initial thermal decomposition temperature of 555°C–621°C, a 10% weight loss temperature of 560°C–636°C, and a glass‐transition temperature of 280°C–326°C. Flexible and tough polyimide films showed good tensile properties, with tensile strength of 121–138 MPa, elongation at break of 9%–12%, and tensile modulus of 2.2–2.9 GPa. The polyimide films were good dielectric materials, and surface and volume resistance were on the order of a magnitude of 1014 and 1015 Ω cm, respectively. The dielectric constant of the films was below 3.0 at 1 MHz. The polyfluorinated films showed good transparency in the visible‐light region, with a cutoff wavelength as low as 302 nm and transmittance higher than 70% at 450 nm. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
