Pressure drop and fouling are important issues in heat exchanger network synthesis, which are usually neglected. Heat exchangers were designed in detail during the heat exchanger network synthesis, and pressure drop and fouling effects were taken into account. Pinch analysis combined with exergoeconomic analysis was used for determining optimal minimum approach temperature (ΔTmin) for heat exchanger network synthesis. Exergy consumption of heat transfer in HENs was calculated using a subsection integral on balanced composite curves. The heat transfer coefficients of all heat exchangers in the network were calculated iteratively to meet the requirements of optimal area and allowable pressure drops. The proposed method was applied to an industrial case. Numerical results indicate the importance of the detailed design of heat exchangers in HENs synthesis. 相似文献

A simpler numerical model for plate‐fin heat exchangers with plain fins and serrated fins is presented, which incorporates the characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer. The numerical simulations for heat exchangers with two fins at low Reynolds numbers are carried out by employing the simplified model and using the CFD code FLUENT. The results of heat transfer rate and pressure drop in numerical simulations are compared with the experimental results from the literature. It is shown that the results are in good agreement and the numerical model is reasonable and appropriate. The characteristics of fluid flow and heat transfer are analyzed and compared based on the numerical results. It is concluded that by applying the average heat transfer coefficient in practice, the heat transfer rate of the primary surface is overestimated, and the heat transfer rate and efficiency of the secondary surface are underestimated. The numerical modeling and conclusions provide the method and theoretical basis for the selection, optimization and analysis of plate‐fin heat exchangers. 相似文献

现有螺旋折流板换热器(HBHXs)螺旋通道的截面积是按照通道中被管排阻挡的最小截面计算的,而实际的螺旋通道截面是由最小截面和管间的最大截面共同构成的,螺旋流是逐步通过最小截面的。由于按此最小截面公式计算的Reynolds数不准确,因此无法获得预测Nusselt数和摩擦因子与Reynolds数关系的通用关联式。提出了一种新型质心当量矩形(MCER)模型,以更精确地计算螺旋折流板换热器的螺旋通道的截面积和壳侧流体Reynolds数,并采用商用软件HTRI和文献的实验数据对MCER模型进行了验证,获得了较满意的结果。在相同条件下,按MCER模型计算壳侧Nusselt数Nuo的结果与采用换热器设计软件HTRI所计算结果的误差在-10%~5%范围内,与两组文献实验结果的误差分别在±18%和-5%~15%范围内,但其摩擦因子的公式结果与上述来源结果比较的误差都比较大,需要进一步完善。 相似文献

Multiple chemical processes rely on multistream heat exchangers (MHEXs) for heat integration, particularly at cryogenic temperatures. Owing to their geometric complexity, the detailed design of MHEXs is typically iterative: the exchanger geometric parameters are selected to match process specifications resulting from a flowsheet optimization step; then, the flowsheet is reoptimized with the predictions of the MHEX model, and these steps are repeated until a convergence criterion is met. This paper presents a novel framework that allows—for the first time, to our knowledge—for the simultaneous optimization of the process flowsheet and the detailed MHEX design. Focusing on spiral‐wound MHEXs, we develop an equation‐oriented exchanger model using industry‐accepted heat transfer and pressure drop correlations for single‐phase and multiphase streams. We embed this model in our previously developed pseudo‐transient equation‐oriented process simulation and optimization framework.
