the Alternating Segment Crank-Nicolson scheme for one-dimensional diffusion equation has been developed in [1],and the Alternating Block Crank-Nicolson method for two-dimensional problem in [2].The methods have the advantages of parallel computing, stability and good accuracy. In this paper for the two-dimensional diffusion equation, the net region is divided into bands,a special kind of block. This method is called the alternating Band Crank-Nicolson method.  相似文献

This paper detailedly discusses the locally one-dimensional numerical methods for ef- ficiently solving the three-dimensional fractional partial differential equations, including fractional advection diffusion equation and Riesz fractional diffusion equation. The second order finite difference scheme is used to discretize the space fractional derivative and the Crank-Nicolson procedure to the time derivative. We theoretically prove and numerically verify that the presented numerical methods are unconditionally stable and second order convergent in both space and time directions. In particular, for the Riesz fractional dif- fusion equation, the idea of reducing the splitting error is used to further improve the algorithm, and the unconditional stability and convergency are also strictly proved and numerically verified for the improved scheme.  相似文献

In the paper, we first propose a Crank-Nicolson Galerkin-Legendre (CN-GL) spectral scheme for the one-dimensional nonlinear space fractional Schrödinger equation. Convergence with spectral accuracy is proved for the spectral approximation. Further, a Crank-Nicolson ADI Galerkin-Legendre spectral method for the two-dimensional nonlinear space fractional Schrödinger equation is developed. The proposed schemes are shown to be efficient with second-order accuracy in time and spectral accuracy in space which are higher than some recently studied methods. Moreover, some numerical results are demonstrated to justify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Crank-Nicolson Galerkin finite element method and construct a two-grid algorithm for the general two-dimensional time-dependent Schrödinger equation. Firstly, we analyze the superconvergence error estimate of the finite element solution in $H^1$ norm by use of the elliptic projection operator. Secondly, we propose a fully discrete two-grid finite element algorithm with Crank-Nicolson scheme in time. With this method, the solution of the Schrödinger equation on a fine grid is reduced to the solution of original problem on a much coarser grid together with the solution of two Poisson equations on the fine grid. Finally, we also derive error estimates of the two-grid finite element solution with the exact solution in $H^1$ norm. It is shown that the solution of two-grid algorithm can achieve asymptotically optimal accuracy as long as mesh sizes satisfy $H = \mathcal{O}(h^{\frac{1}{2}})$.  相似文献

We use the generalized L1 approximation for the Caputo fractional derivative, the second-order fractional quadrature rule approximation for the integral term, and a classical Crank-Nicolson alternating direction implicit (ADI) scheme for the time discretization of a new two-dimensional (2D) fractional integro-differential equation, in combination with a space discretization by an arbitrary-order orthogonal spline collocation (OSC) method. The stability of a Crank-Nicolson ADI OSC scheme is rigourously established, and error estimate is also derived. Finally, some numerical tests are given.  相似文献

Let ( x 1 ( t ), x 2 ( t )) be a controlled two-dimensional diffusion process. The problem of minimizing, or maximizing, the time spent by ( x 1 ( t ), x 2 ( t )) in a given subset of 2 is solved, in two particular instances, by transforming the optimal control problems into purely probabilistic problems. In Section 2 , ( x 1 ( t ), x 2 ( t )) is a two-dimensional Wiener process and the optimal control is obtained by transforming a nonlinear dynamic programming equation into the Kolmogorov backward equation for a two-dimensional geometric Brownian motion. In Section 3 , the converse problem is solved. The problem of finding the maximal instantaneous reward that we can give for survival in the continuation region is also treated.  相似文献

In this paper, a two-dimensional fractional advection-dispersion equation (2D-FADE) with variable coefficients on a finite domain is considered. We use a new technique of combination of the Alternating Directions Implicit-Euler method (ADI-Euler), the unshifted Grünwald formula for the advection term, the right-shifted Grünwald formula for the diffusion term, and a Richardson extrapolation to establish an unconditionally stable second order accurate difference method. Stability, consistency and convergence of the ADI-Euler method for 2D-FADE are examined. A numerical example with known exact solution is also presented, and the behavior of the error is analyzed to verify the order of convergence of the ADI-Euler method and the extrapolated ADI-Euler method.  相似文献

The space-fractional diffusion equation models anomalous super-diffusion. Its solutions are transition densities of a stable Lévy motion, representing the accumulation of power-law jumps. The tempered stable Lévy motion uses exponential tempering to cool these jumps. A tempered fractional diffusion equation governs the transition densities, which progress from super-diffusive early-time to diffusive late-time behavior. This article provides finite difference and particle tracking methods for solving the tempered fractional diffusion equation with drift. A temporal and spatial second-order Crank-Nicolson method is developed, based on a finite difference formula for tempered fractional derivatives. A new exponential rejection method for simulating tempered Lévy stables is presented to facilitate particle tracking codes.  相似文献

We consider numerical methods to solve the Allen-Cahn equation using the second-order Crank-Nicolson scheme in time and the second-order central difference approach in space. The existence of the finite difference solution is proved with the help of Browder fixed point theorem. The difference scheme is showed to be unconditionally convergent in L∞ norm by constructing an auxiliary Lipschitz continuous function.Based on this result,it is demonstrated that the difference scheme preserves the maximum principle without any restrictions on spatial step size and temporal step size. The numerical experiments also verify the reliability of the method.  相似文献

A modified Crank-Nicolson scheme based on one-sided difference approximations is proposed for solving time-dependent convection dominated diffusion equations in two-dimensional space. The modified scheme is consistent and unconditionally stable. A priori L2 error estimate for the fully discrete modified scheme is derived. With the use of the incremental unknowns preconditioner at each time step, a comparison among several classical numerical schemes has been made and numerical results confirm stability and efficiency of the modified Crank-Nicolson scheme.  相似文献

The main objective of this paper is to present an efficient structure-preserving scheme, which is based on the idea of the scalar auxiliary variable approach, for solving the two-dimensional space-fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation. First, we reformulate the equation as an canonical Hamiltonian system, and obtain a new equivalent system via introducing a scalar variable. Then, we construct a semi-discrete energy-preserving scheme by using the Fourier pseudo-spectral method to discretize the equivalent system in space direction. After that, applying the Crank-Nicolson method on the temporal direction gives a linearly-implicit scheme in the fully-discrete version. As expected, the proposed scheme can preserve the energy exactly and more efficient in the sense that only decoupled equations with constant coefficients need to be solved at each time step. Finally, numerical experiments are provided to demonstrate the efficiency and conservation of the scheme.  相似文献

The Parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs) with nonlocal boundary conditions model various physical phenomena, e.g. chemical diffusion, thermoelasticity, heat conduction process, control theory and medicine science. This paper deals with the smoothing of the Crank-Nicolson numerical scheme for two-dimensional parabolic PDEs with nonlocal boundary conditions. We use the numerical scheme based on Padé approximations of the matrix exponential. The graphs of numerical results demonstrate the successful smoothing of the Crank-Nicolson numerical scheme.  相似文献

High order compact Alternating Direction Implicit scheme is given for solving the generalized sine-Gordon equation in a two-dimensional rectangular domain. We apply the compact finite difference operators to obtain a fourth order discretization for the second order space derivatives, and we give a linearized three time level algorithm for solving the original nonlinear equation. Error estimate is given by the energy method. Numerical results are provided to verify the accuracy and efficiency of this algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a finite difference/collocation method for two-dimensional time fractional diffusion equation with generalized fractional operator. The main purpose of this paper is to design a high order numerical scheme for the new generalized time fractional diffusion equation. First, a finite difference approximation formula is derived for the generalized time fractional derivative, which is verified with order $2-\alpha$ $(0<\alpha<1)$. Then, collocation method is introduced for the two-dimensional space approximation. Unconditional stability of the scheme is proved. To make the method more efficient, the alternating direction implicit method is introduced to reduce the computational cost. At last, numerical experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the scheme.  相似文献

In this study, we present a conservative local discontinuous Galerkin(LDG) method for numerically solving the two-dimensional nonlinear Schrdinger(NLS) equation. The NLS equation is rewritten as a firstorder system and then we construct the LDG formulation with appropriate numerical flux. The mass and energy conserving laws for the semi-discrete formulation can be proved based on different choices of numerical fluxes such as the central, alternative and upwind-based flux. We will propose two kinds of time discretization methods for the semi-discrete formulation. One is based on Crank-Nicolson method and can be proved to preserve the discrete mass and energy conservation. The other one is Krylov implicit integration factor(IIF) method which demands much less computational effort. Various numerical experiments are presented to demonstrate the conservation law of mass and energy, the optimal rates of convergence, and the blow-up phenomenon.  相似文献

An accurate and efficient numerical approach, based on a finite difference method with Crank-Nicolson time stepping, is proposed for the Landau-Lifshitz equation without damping. The phenomenological Landau-Lifshitz equation describes the dynamics of ferromagnetism. The Crank-Nicolson method is very popular in the numerical schemes for parabolic equations since it is second-order accurate in time. Although widely used, the method does not always produce accurate results when it is applied to the Landau-Lifshitz equation. The objective of this article is to enumerate the problems and then to propose an accurate and robust numerical solution algorithm. A discrete scheme and a numerical solution algorithm for the Landau-Lifshitz equation are described. A nonlinear multigrid method is used for handling the nonlinearities of the resulting discrete system of equations at each time step. We show numerically that the proposed scheme has a second-order convergence in space and time.

A mathematical formulation of the two-dimensional Cole–Hopf transformation is investigated in detail. By making use of the Cole–Hopf transformation, a nonlinear two-dimensional unsteady advection–diffusion equation is transformed into a linear equation, and the transformed equation is solved by the spectral method previously proposed by one of the authors. Thus a solution to initial value problems of nonlinear two-dimensional unsteady advection–diffusion equations is derived. On the base of the solution, a numerical scheme explicit with respect to time is presented for nonlinear advection–diffusion equations. Numerical experiments show that the present scheme possesses the total variation diminishing properties and gives solutions with good quality.  相似文献
