Fretting situations are becoming increasingly important for industrial applications. Fretting wear is defined as a small oscillatory displacement between two contacting bodies. The interface is damaged by debris generation and its ejection from the contact area. In this work, investigations on AISI 52100 steel self‐mated contacts with a ball on flat configuration under dry conditions have been carried out. Fretting tests at a constant maximum Hertzian pressure of 1.1 GPa for different ball diameters have been performed to cover a huge range of contact sizes. A specific experimental procedure is considered to discriminate between the relative impact of the sliding amplitude and the contact size effect. It is shown that a single parameter cannot capture the total interface behaviour. Indeed, an asymptotic decrease in the friction coefficient and wear rate versus the contact size is observed. The increase in the contact area accentuates the implication of third body in the interface. The larger the contact size, the more difficult the debris ejection, the higher the third‐body accommodation, and the lower the coefficient of friction and wear rates. Recently, material of Inconel 690TT (thermal treatment) for the steam generator tubes in a nuclear power plant was substituted for the existing material of Inconel 600HTMA (high temperature mill-annealing). Inconel 690TT has more chromium than Inconel 600HTMA in order to improve the corrosion resistance. In this study, to evaluate the friction and wear characteristics of Inconel 690TT under fretting condition, the fretting tests as well as sliding tests were carried out in air and in elevated temperature water environment, respectively. Fretting tests of the cross-cylinder type were done under various applied normal loads, and sliding tests of pin-on-disk type were also carried out to compare with the results of the fretting test. In summary, the results of the fretting tests correlated with the results of the sliding tests. The wear mechanism of Inconel 690TT in air was delamination wear and the mechanism in water was affected by micro-pitting. Also, it was found that the fretting wear coefficients in water were increased with increase in the temperature of water.  相似文献

在微动磨损试验机上考察了含有硫化铜纳米粒子脲基脂的微动磨损性能。结果表明:硫化铜纳米粒子能显著降低微动磨损体积,随着纳米粒子含量增加,微动磨损量降低;在微动磨损后期纳米粒子的存在还能降低摩擦因数。低负荷下,润滑脂中硫化铜纳米粒子有利于降低微动磨损量;但在高负荷条件下,磨损量迅速增大,说明高负荷下微动磨损方式发生了变化。XPS分析表明,微动磨斑表面膜含有Cu、FeS等物质,说明硫化铜纳米粒子能显著降低微动磨损的原因在于纳米粒子化学性质非常活泼,在微动过程中容易与摩擦表面发生化学反应,形成具有保护性的沉积物膜和化学反应膜。  相似文献

Fretting wear proceeds through particle detachment from the contacting surfaces which, while trapped in the contact zone, can affect the frictional and wear response. Ball-on-flat fretting experiments were carried out between steel specimens under gross slip regime. A transition in the coefficient of friction was linked to a critical contact pressure. The microstructure and chemical composition of the third body evolve with the applied pressure. The evolution of the friction coefficient is strongly dependent on the third body properties. The wear is controlled by the applied load and thus the real contact area within the wear track.  相似文献

Fretting damages are connected to numerous aspects like friction, wear, contact mechanics, fatigue and material sciences. Its quantification also requests to consider the loading history as well as the sliding condition. Based on a “fretting sliding” approach, and considering fretting wear test conditions, various palliative solutions have been investigated. Shot peening treatment, introducing compressive residual stresses, appears pertinent against crack propagation but ineffective against crack nucleation due to the activation of surface relaxation phenomena. Hard thin coatings present stable residual stresses independently of the sliding conditions. However, they only delay the crack nucleation process, when the coating is worn through, cracking phenomena are activated. To quantify the coating endurance against wear, an energy density approach has been developed. The stability of this approach has been confirmed regarding the contact size effect and illustrated through the analysis of synergic interaction between soft thick coating and solid lubricant.  相似文献

利用环-盘式摩擦磨损试验机研究了铜碲硒铁合金的干摩擦磨损行为,分析了载荷和摩擦速度等参数对该合金摩擦磨损性能的影响,并用扫描电子显微镜对磨损形貌进行了观察.结果表明:铜碲硒铁合金的摩擦因数随载荷的增加变化不大,但随摩擦速度的增加而明显增大;合金的磨损率随载荷和摩擦速度的增加均增大;在轻载低速条件下,合金的磨损机制以犁削磨损和粘着磨损为主;在重载高速条件下,磨粒磨损和粘着磨损加剧.  相似文献

在电气化铁路弓网系统中,磨损率是衡量列车运行状态与接触导线使用状态的重要指标。为了充分模拟弓网系统中磨损率情况,利用自行搭建的滑动电接触摩擦磨损试验机对滑板和接触导线进行摩擦磨损试验,分析滑板表面粗糙度、法向压力、接触电流与运行速度对磨损率的影响。得出结论:滑板磨损率随滑板初始表面粗糙度、接触电流、法向压力、运行速度的增加而增加,而高载荷下粗糙度对于磨损率的影响降低;滑板摩擦从磨合期进入稳定摩擦期存在一个临界表面粗糙度,当滑板初始表面粗糙度值等于临界粗糙度值时,其磨损率最低;不同初始表面粗糙度的滑板在跑合期内磨损过程不同,在稳定摩擦期内磨损过程趋于一致,且摩擦试验后滑板表面粗糙度也接近。  相似文献

The fretting wear behavior of the AZ91D and AM60B magnesium alloys are investigated using a reciprocating fretting wear machine under dry conditions with different numbers of cycles, different normal loads, slip amplitudes and frequencies. The worn surfaces and wear debris were examined using scanning electron microscopy and optical microscopy in order to understand the predominant wear mechanisms of two magnesium alloys. The results indicate that the AZ91D alloy displays a lower friction coefficient and lower wear quantity than the AM60B alloy. The AZ91D shows a higher capability than AM60B in resisting crack nucleation and propagation. Both AZ91D and AM60B show similar friction and wear characteristics. The wear quantity increases with increasing normal load, but decreases with increasing frequency. The friction coefficient also decreases as the normal load is increased. Fretting frequency had little effect on the friction coefficient. In a long term, the fatigue wear and abrasive wear were the predominant wear mechanisms for AM60B and delamination wear, adhesive wear and abrasive wear for AZ91D.  相似文献

对TC4合金进行了Mo离子注入表面改性处理,利用摩擦磨损试验机进行了点接触微动磨损试验,借助读数显微镜和表面粗糙度仪测量出有关参数,计算出试样的微动磨损体积。结果表明,Mo离子注入使试样表面硬度提高,微动磨损体积明显降低。在微动磨损初期,Mo离子注入具有较好的减摩效果。Mo离子注入带来的表面强化效应是基体合金的微动磨损抗力得以提高的主要原因。  相似文献

利用UMT-2多功能摩擦磨损试验机对镍基合金Inconel 718与硬质合金刀具对偶时的摩擦磨损特性进行研究,揭示法向载荷和滑动速度对摩擦副摩擦因数的影响,通过SEM观察试样摩擦形貌并分析磨损机制.研究结果表明:摩擦副的摩擦因数随着法向载荷的增大而减小,随滑动速度的增大而增大;Inconel 718镍基合金与硬质合金对偶时的磨损机制主要为黏着磨损、磨粒磨损和氧化磨损.  相似文献

The effects of normal load, sliding speed, and surface roughness on the friction and wear of high-purity niobium (Nb) during sliding without and with an introduction of water were systematically investigated. Increasing the normal load or sliding speed decreased the friction of the Nb under the both dry and wet conditions because the increased wear of the Nb decreased the interfacial shear strength between the steel ball and Nb by promoting the surface roughening and the production of wear debris. However, the Nb tested at the lowest sliding speed under the lowest normal load with water exhibited the lowest friction and wear due to the formation of oxide layer on the wear track. The friction and wear of the Nb tested under the dry condition decreased with increased surface roughness because the higher interfacial shear strength between the steel ball and smoother Nb resulted in the earlier breakdown of the native oxide layer and direct contact between the steel ball and Nb. However, increasing the surface roughness of the Nb increased its friction and wear under wet conditions, probably due to the easier breakdown of the oxide layer that formed on the rougher surface during sliding. The tribological results clearly showed that the introduction of water during sliding had a significant influence on the tribological properties of the Nb.  相似文献

在HT-1000型高温摩擦磨损试验机上,对M35高速钢进行干滑动摩擦磨损试验,利用SEM(扫描电镜)观察并分析摩擦面磨损形貌及磨损机理。结果表明,M35高速钢在与GCr15滚动轴承合金钢配副干摩擦条件下,随着速度的增加,摩擦因数先降低后升高,然后再降低。当摩擦热累积达到一定值后,摩擦表面产生严重塑性变形和化学变化,摩擦副表面产生氧化磨损、粘着磨损、磨粒磨损和犁沟磨损,形成转移润滑膜,此时摩擦因数较低,磨损率也相对较低。  相似文献

The friction and wear behaviors of polyamide 66 (PA 66) and rubber-filled PA 66 (PA 66/SEBS-g-MA) composites were investigated on a block-on-wheel model friction and wear tester under dry sliding and water lubricating conditions. In order to further understand the wear mechanisms, the worn surfaces and scraps of samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The experimental results indicated that the wear mass loss and the friction coefficient of PA 66 decreased with the addition of rubber particles. The friction coefficients of PA 66 and PA 66/SEBS-g-MA composites under water lubricating condition are lower than those under dry sliding condition, but the wear mass losses are higher than those under dry sliding condition. The main wear mechanisms under dry sliding condition are the plastic deformation and mechanical microploughing. Whereas the main wear mechanisms under water lubricating condition are the mechanical microploughing and abrasive wear.  相似文献

Fretting wear tests were performed on the self-made fretting wear rig to investigate fretting wear behaviors of steel wires under friction-increasing grease conditions. The results demonstrated that the fretting regimes were dependent on displacement amplitudes and normal loads. The friction coefficient exhibited different variation trends in different fretting regimes. Friction-increasing grease changed the fretting running behavior and had a very good wear resistance for steel wires. Wear was slight in partial slip regime. Mixed regime was characterized by plastic deformation, fatigue cracks and abrasive wear. Slip regime presented main damage mechanisms of abrasive wear, fatigue wear and oxidation.  相似文献

Fretting wear tests on Inconel 690 alloy were carried out at different displacement amplitudes. The results indicated that with an increase in displacement amplitude, the ratio of tangential force to normal load and wear volume increased. The fretting mode gradually transformed from mostly stick, mixed stick–slip, to full sliding, showing the competition of fretting-induced fatigue cracking and fretting-induced wear. There was a gradient plastic strain created by fretting, which resulted in the formation of a nanocrystalline tribologically transformed structure (TTS) and plastic deformation layers. The plastic strain in the plastic deformation layer gradually increased with an increase in displacement amplitude.  相似文献

The friction and wear behavior of ISO 100Cr6 steel ball sliding against conventionally hardened carbon and low-alloy steels was studied. The effect of hardness, hardening capacity, normal load, and sliding speed on the coefficient of friction and friction energy was investigated. Friction tests were carried out, without lubrication and under ambient conditions, on a reciprocating friction tester in which a ball-on-flat contact configuration was adopted. The results showed that there is a relative tendency for the friction properties to decrease with increased hardening capacity and decreased hardness. The results showed that increasing normal load decreases the coefficient of friction for the two steel nuances. However, increasing sliding speed increases the coefficient of friction of low-alloy steel and decreases the coefficient of friction of carbon steel. The oxidation of wear debris influences the wear mechanisms and friction behavior.  相似文献
