Multilayer films of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were homogeneously and stably assembled on a glassy carbon (GC) electrode using the layer-by-layer (LBL) method based on electrostatic interaction between MWNTs (negatively charged) and a biopolymer chitosan (CHIT) (positively charged). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of the resulting {CHIT/MWNTs}9 film indicated that the substrate was mostly covered with MWNTs in the form of small bundles or single nanotubes. The multilayer film was used to study the electrocatalytic oxidation of NADH. The assembled {CHIT/MWNTs}9/GC electrode could decrease the oxidation overpotential of NADH by more than 350 mV. The {CHIT/MWNTs}9/GC electrode exhibited a wide linear response range of 8 × 10−7 to 1.6 × 10−3 mol · L−1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.997 for the detection of NADH. The response time and detection limit (S/N = 3) were determined to be 3 s and 0.3 × 10−6 mol · L−1, respectively. Another attractive characteristic was that the method was simple and the assembled {CHIT/MWNTs}9/GC electrode was highly stable.  相似文献

The potential application of ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC)-modified glassy carbon electrode (OMC/GCE) in electrochemistry as a novel electrode material was investigated. X-ray diffraction, transmission electron micrographs, and cyclic voltammetry were used to characterize the structure and electrochemical behaviors of this material. Compared to GC electrode, the peak currents of potassium ferricyanide (K3[Fe(CN)6]) increase and the peak potential separation (ΔE p) decreases at the OMC/GC electrode. These phenomena suggest that OMC-modified GC electrode possesses larger electrode area and faster electron transfer rate, as compared with bare GC electrode. Furthermore, riboflavin was detected using OMC/GC electrode in aqueous solutions. The results showed that, under an optimum condition (pH 7.0), the OMC/GC electrode exhibited excellent response performance to riboflavin in the concentration range of 4.0 × 10−7 to 1.0 × 10−6 M with a high sensitivity of 769 μA mM−1. The detection limit was down to around 2 × 10−8 M. With good stability and reproducibility, the present OMC/GC electrode was applied in the determination of vitamin B2 content in vitamin tablets, and satisfactory results were obtained.  相似文献

A lead electrode was studied in 6 and 12 M H3PO4. Oxidation of a freshly polished electrode occurred in the −0.5 to −0.3 V vs. SCE range, and led to PbHPO4 growth on the electrode surface. The dissolution of this layer by electrochemical reduction occurred between −0.5 and −0.7 V. The influence of temperature (20 °C and 65 °C) was investigated and showed that the anodic and the cathodic peaks were increasing, and more markedly for the 12 M H3PO4. The ratio Q cathodic/Q anodic (Q=electrical charge flowing through the electrode) was equal or close to the unity at 20 °C and decreased as the temperature was increased. The influence of Cl, Br and I ions was also evaluated. The addition of Cl and Br predominantly led to Pb5(PO4)3Cl and Pb5(PO4)3Br, respectively, while I led to a mixture of PbI2 and PbHPO4. Summary. The cohesion potential energy of the crystal of one enantiomer of ethyl 3-cyano-3-(3,4-dimethyloxyphenyl)-2,2,4-trimethylpentanoate, −47.7 ± 0.1 kJ mol−1 (0–90°C), was found out from the heat of sublimation (123.2 ± 5.1 kJ mol−1, 78.6°C) and the kinetic energies for the gas phase and the crystal. It was found that the entropy function of Debye’s theory of solids mathematically agreed with the vibrational entropy of the gas (variationally obtained), allowing to disclose the vibrational energy using the Debye energy function (E vib 835.0 kJ mol−1 (78.6°C), E 0 included). E kin for the crystal (771.1 kJ mol−1 (78.6°C)) was obtained by Debye’s theory with the experimental heat capacity. The cohesion energy represented a moderate part of the sublimation energy. The cohesion energy of the racemic crystal, −44.2 kJ mol−1, was obtained by the heat of formation of the crystal in the solid state (3.0 kJ mol−1, 83.3°C) and E kin for the crystal (by Debye’s theory). The decrease in cohesion on formation of the crystal accounted for the energy of formation. The change in potential energy on liquefaction of the racemate from the gas state was disclosed obtaining added-up E vib + rot for the liquid in the way as to E vib for the gas, the Debye entropy function being increasedly suited for the liquid (E vib + rot 763.4 kJ mol−1 (115.4°C)). Positive ΔE pot, 13.0 kJ mol−1, arised from the increase in electronic energy (Δ l νmean − 154.3 cm−1, by the dielectric nature of the liquid), added to the cohesion energy.  相似文献

We used a carbon paste electrode modified with multi-walled carbon nanotubes as a working electrode and studied the electrochemical behavior of zirconium-alizarin red S complex on it. It was found that the modified electrode exhibited a significant catalytic effect toward the reduction of free alizarin red S and the complex. The second derivative linear scan voltammograms of the complex were recorded by a polarographic analyser from 0 to −1000 mV (vs. SCE), and it was found that the complex can be adsorbed on the surface of the modified electrode, yielding a peak at about −470 mV, corresponding to the reduction of alizarin red S in the complex. The linear range was found to be 2.0 × 10−11–8.0 × 10−7 mol L−1, and the detection limit was 1.0 × 10−11 mol L−1 (S/N = 3) for 3 min accumulation. The procedure was successfully applied to the determination of trace amounts of zirconium in the ore samples. A new modified electrode was prepared by electrodeposition of caffeic acid (CFA) at the surface of an activated glassy carbon electrode. Cyclic voltammetry was used to investigate the redox properties of this electrode at various solution pH values and at various scan rates. The pH dependence of the electrode response was found to be 58.5 mV/pH, which is very close to the expected Nernstian value. The electrode was also employed to study electrocatalytic oxidation of reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and rotating disk voltammetry as diagnostic techniques. It was found that the modified electrode exhibits potent and persistent electrocatalytic properties toward NADH oxidation in phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0) with a diminution of the overpotential of about 450 mV compared to the process at an unmodified electrode. The electrocatalytic current increases linearly with NADH concentration in the range tested from 0.05 to 1.0 mM. The apparent charge transfer rate constant and transfer coefficient for electron transfer between the electrode surface and immobilized CFA were calculated as 11.2 s−1 and 0.43, respectively. The heterogeneous rate constant for oxidation of NADH at the CFA-modified electrode surface was also determined and found to be about 3 × 103 M−1 s−1. Finally, the diffusion coefficient of NADH was calculated as 3.24 × 10−6 cm2 s−1 for the experimental conditions, using chronoamperometric results. Functionalized polypyrrole films were prepared by incorporation of Fe(CN)6 3− as doping anion during the electropolymerization of pyrrole at a glassy carbon electrode from aqueous solution. The electrochemical behavior of the Fe(CN)6 3−/Fe(CN)6 4− redox couple in polypyrrole was studied by cyclic voltammetry. An obvious surface redox reaction was observed and dependence of this reaction on the solution pH was illustrated. The electrocatalytic ability of polypyrrole film with ferrocyanide incorporated was demonstrated by oxidation of ascorbic acid at the optimized pH of 4 in a glycine buffer. The catalytic effect for mediated oxidation of ascorbic acid was 300 mV and the bimolecular rate constant determined for surface coverage of 4.5 × 10−8 M cm−2 using rotating disk electrode voltammetry was 86 M−1 s−1. Furthermore, the catalytic oxidation current was linearly dependent on ascorbic acid concentration in the range 5 × 10−4–1.6 × 10−2 M with a correlation coefficient of 0.996. The plot of i p versus v 1/2 confirms the diffusion nature of the peak current i p. Received: 12 April 1999 / Accepted: 25 May 1999  相似文献

Carboxyl group-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (PDC) were electropolymerized by cyclic voltammetry on a glassy-carbon electrode (GCE) surface to form composite films (SWNTs/PDC). Zirconia was then electrodeposited on the SWNTs/PDC/GCE from an aqueous electrolyte containing ZrOCl2 and KCl by cycling the potential between −1.1 V and +0.7 V at a scan rate of 20 mV s−1. DNA probes with a phosphate group at the 5′ end were easily immobilized on the zirconia thin films, because of the strong affinity between zirconia and phosphate groups. The sensors were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). EIS was used for label-free detection of the target DNA by measuring the increase of the electron transfer resistance (R et) of the electrode surface after the hybridization of the probe DNA with the target DNA. The PAT gene fragment and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of the NOS gene from transgenically modified beans were satisfactorily detected by use of this DNA electrochemical sensor. The dynamic range of detection of the sensor for the PAT gene fragment was from 1.0 × 10−11 to 1.0 × 10−6 mol L−1 and the detection limit was 1.38 × 10−12 mol L−1.  相似文献

A simple method was used to fabricate flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)/NiOx nanocomposite on the surface of glassy carbon (GC) electrode. Cyclic voltammetry technique was applied for deposition nickel oxide nanostructures onto GC surface. Owing to its high biocompatibility and large surface area of nickel oxide nanomaterials with immersing the GC/NiOx-modified electrode into FAD solution for a short period of time, 10–140 s, a stable thin layer of the FAD molecules immobilized onto electrode surface. The FAD/NiOx films exhibited a pair of well-defined, stable, and nearly reversible CV peaks at wide pH range (2–10). The formal potential of adsorbed FAD onto nickel oxide nanoparticles film, E o′ vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode is −0.44 V in pH 7 buffer solutions was similar to dissolved FAD and changed linearly with a slope of 58.6 mV/pH in the pH range 2–10. The surface coverage and heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant (k s ) of FAD immobilized on NiOx film glassy carbon electrode are 4.66 × 10−11 mol cm−2 and 63 ± 0.1 s−1, indicating the high loading ability of the nickel oxide nanoparticles and great facilitation of the electron transfer between FAD and nickel oxide nanoparticles. FAD/NiOx nanocomposite-modified GC electrode shows excellent electrocatalytic activity toward S2O82− reduction at reduced overpotential. Furthermore, rotated modified electrode illustrates good analytical performance for amperometric detection of S2O82−. Under optimized condition, the concentration calibration range, detection limit, and sensitivity were 3 μM–1.5 mM, 0.38 μM and 16.6 nA/μM, respectively.  相似文献

A carbon past electrode modified with [Mn(H2O)(N3)(NO3)(pyterpy)], ( \textpyterpy = 4¢- ( 4 - \textpyridyl ) - 2,2¢:\text6¢,\text2¢¢- \textterpyridine ) \left( {{\text{pyterpy}} = 4\prime - \left( {4 - {\text{pyridyl}}} \right) - 2,2\prime:{\text{6}}\prime,{\text{2}}\prime\prime - {\text{terpyridine}}} \right) complex have been applied to the electrocatalytic oxidation of nitrite which reduced the overpotential by about 120 mV with obviously increasing the current response. Relative standard deviations for nitrite determination was less than 2.0%, and nitrite can be determined in the ranges of 5.00 × 10−6 to 1.55 × 10−2 mol L−1, with a detection limit of 8 × 10−7 mol L−1. The treatment of the voltammetric data showed that it is a pure diffusion-controlled reaction, which involves one electron in the rate-determining step. The rate constant k′, transfer coefficient α for the catalytic reaction, and diffusion coefficient of nitrite in the solution, D, were found to be 1.4 × 10−2, 0.56× 10−6, and 7.99 × 10−6 cm2 s−1, respectively. The mechanism for the interaction of nitrite with the Mn(II) complex modified carbon past electrode is proposed. This work provides a simple and easy approach to detection of nitrite ion. The modified electrode indicated reproducible behavior, anti-fouling properties, and stability during electrochemical experiments, making it particularly suitable for the analytical purposes.  相似文献

The electrocatalytic oxidation of quinine sulfate (QS) was investigated at a glassy carbon electrode, modified by a gel containing multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and room-temperature ionic liquid of 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophate (BMIMPF6) in 0.10 M of phosphate buffer solution (PBS, pH 6.8). It was found that an irreversible anodic oxidation peak of QS with E pa as 0.99 V appeared at MWCNTs-RTIL/glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The electrode reaction process was a diffusion-controlled one and the electrochemical oxidation involved two electrons transferring and two protons participation. Furthermore, the charge-transfer coefficient (α), diffusion coefficient (D), and electrode reaction rate constant (k f) of QS were found to be 0.87, 7.89 × 10−3 cm2⋅s−1 and 3.43 × 10−2 s−1, respectively. Under optimized conditions, linear calibration curves were obtained over the QS concentration range 3.0 × 10−6 to 1.0 × 10−4 M by square wave voltammetry, and the detection limit was found to be 0.44 μM based on the signal-to-noise ratio of 3. In addition, the novel MWCNTs-RTIL/GCE was characterized by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and the proposed method has been successfully applied in the electrochemical quantitative determination of quinine content in commercial injection samples and the determination results could meet the requirement.  相似文献

A new H2O2 biosensor was fabricated on the basis of nanocomposite films of hemoglobin (Hb), silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs)–chitosan (Chit) dispersed solution immobilized on glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The immobilized Hb displayed a pair of well-defined and reversible redox peaks with a formal potential (E θ′) of −22.5 mV in 0.1 M pH 7.0 phosphate buffer solution. The apparent heterogeneous electron transfer rate constants (k s) in the Chit–MWNTs film was evaluated as 2.58 s−1 according to Laviron’s equation. The surface concentration (Γ*) of the electroactive Hb in the Chit–MWNTs film was estimated to be (2.48 ± 0.25) × 10−9 mol cm−2. Meanwhile, the Chit–MWNTs/Hb/AgNPs/GCE demonstrated excellently electrocatalytical ability to H2O2. Its apparent Michaelis–Menten constant (K Mapp) for H2O2 was 0.0032 mM, showing a good affinity. Under optimal conditions, the biosensors could be used for the determination of H2O2 ranging from 6.25 × 10−6 to 9.30 × 10−5 mol L−1 with a detection limit of 3.47 × 10−7 mol L−1 (S/N = 3). Furthermore, the biosensor possessed rapid response to H2O2 and good stability, selectivity, and reproducibility.  相似文献

Three methods were used to immobilize myoglobin (Mb) on chitosan/single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) film, and direct electrochemistry of the immobilized Mb was extensively investigated. Immobilized Mb displayed a couple of stable and well-defined redox peaks with the formal potential (E’) is at about −0.27 V (vs. SCE) in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0). The E′ was shifted linearly with pH in the range of 3.0 to 9.0 with a slope of −54.1 mV pH−1, denoting that one-electron accompanies with one-proton transfer in electrode reaction process. The FT-IR spectroscopy and UV-vis spectroscopy showed that Mb on the film retained its secondary structure similar to its native state. The experimental results demonstrated that the immobilized Mb exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity to reduction of cimetidine with a significant lowering of overpotential. The electrocatalytic current was proportional to the concentration of cimetidine over the range from 9.80 × 10−6 to 1.1 × 10−4 M; the detection limit is 8.40 × 10−6 M (signal-to-noise ratio of 3). The proposed method exhibits good sensitivity, stability and reproducibility. Published in Russian in Elektrokhimiya, 2008, Vol. 44, No. 2, pp. 235–243. The preparation and electrochemical characterization of a carbon nanotube paste electrode modified with 2,2′-[1,2-ethanediylbis (nitriloethylidyne)]-bis-hydroquinone, referred to as EBNBH, was investigated. The EBNBH carbon nanotube paste electrode (EBNBHCNPE) displayed one pair of reversible peaks at E pa = 0.18 V and E pc = 0.115 V vs Ag/AgCl. Half wave potential (E 1/2) and ΔE p were 0.148 and 0.065 V vs Ag/AgCl, respectively. The electrocatalytic oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA) has been studied on EBNBHCNPE, using cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques. It has been shown that the oxidation of AA occurs at a potential where oxidation is not observed at the unmodified carbon paste electrode. The heterogeneous rate constant for oxidation of AA at the EBNBHCNPE was also determined and found to be about 1.07 × 10−3 cm s−1. The diffusion coefficient of AA was also estimated as 5.66 × 10−6 cm2 s−1 for the experimental conditions, using chronoamperometry. Also, this modified electrode presented the property of electrocatalysing the oxidation of AA and uric acid (UA) at 0.18 and 0.35 V vs Ag/AgCl, respectively. The separations of anodic peak potentials of AA and UA reached 0.17 V. Using differential pulse voltammetry, the calibration curves for AA and UA were obtained over the range of 0.1–800 μM and 20–700 μM, respectively. With good selectivity and sensitivity, the present method provides a simple method for selective detection of AA and UA in biological samples.  相似文献

Bulk screen-printed electrodes (bSPEs) modified with zirconium phosphate (ZrP) and Meldola blue (MB) and by electrochemical deposition of a Reineckate film (bMBZrPRs-SPEs) have been constructed and used as NADH sensors. Cyclic voltammetric investigation of these bulk electrochemically modified screen-printed electrodes revealed stable catalytic activity in oxidation of the reduced form of the coenzyme nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH). Flow-injection analysis (FIA) coupled with amperometric detection confirmed the improved stability of the bMBZrPRs-SPEs (10−4 mol L−1 NADH, %RSD = 4.2, n = 90, pH 7.0). Other conditions, for example applied working potential (+50 mV relative to Ag|AgCl), flow rate (0.30 mL min−1) and pH-dependence (range 4.0–10.0) were evaluated and optimized. A glycerol biosensor, prepared by immobilizing glycerol dehydrogenase (GDH) on the working electrode area of a bMBZrPRs-SPE, was also assembled. The biosensor was most stable at pH 8.5 (%RSD = 5.6, n = 70, 0.25 mmol L−1 glycerol). The detection and quantification limits were 2.8 × 10−6 and 9.4 × 10−6 mol L−1, respectively, and the linear working range was between 1.0 × 10−5 and 1.0 × 10−4 mol L−1. To assess the effect of interferences, and recovery by the probe we analyzed samples taken during fermentation of chemically defined grape juice medium and compared the results with those obtained by HPLC.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles (GNs) could be efficiently immobilized on binary mixed self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on a gold surface composed of 1,6-hexanedithiol and 1-octanethiol (nano-Au/SAMs gold electrode). This GN chemically modified electrode was used for electrochemical determination of ascorbic acid (AA) and dopamine (DA) in aqueous media. The result showed that the GN-modified electrode could clearly resolve the oxidation peaks of AA and DA, with a peak-to-peak separation (∆E p) of 110 mV enabling determination of AA and DA in the presence of each other. The linear analytical curves were obtained in the ranges of 0.3–1.4 mM for AA and 0.2–1.2 mM for DA concentrations using differential pulse voltammetry. The detection limits (3σ) were 9.0 × 10−5 M for AA and 9.0 × 10−5 M for DA.  相似文献

A novel lidocaine ion-selective electrode is prepared, characterized and used in pharmaceutical analysis. The electrode incorporates PVC-membrane with lidocaine-sulfathiazole ion pair complex. The influences of membrane composition, temperature, pH of the test solution, and foreign ions on the electrode performance were investigated. The electrode showed a Nernstian response over a lidocaine concentration range from 1.0 ×10−5 to 1.0 × 10−1 mol L−1 with a slope of 60.1 ± 0.2 mV per decade at 25°C and was found to be very selective, precise, and usable within the pH range 5–9.5. The standard electrode potentials, E o, were determined at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40°C, and used to calculate the isothermal temperature coefficient (dE o/dT=−0.0003 V °C−1) of the electrode. However, the electrode performance is significantly decreased at temperatures higher than 45°C. The electrode was successfully used for potentiometric determination of lidocaine hydrochloride in pharmaceutical products. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

Active ferric tungstate was prepared by fusing an equimolar mixture of tungsten oxide and ferric oxide at 1100 °C and annealing at 800 °C for 20 h. Analysis of the electrode material by X-ray diffraction showed that its composition was Fe2WO6. When this material was illuminated by visible light in 0.1 M NaOH solution, an anodic photocurrent at a positive potential of 0.5 V (SCE) was obtained. Therefore, this material is considered as an n-type semiconductor. The d.c. conductivity of this material at 25 °C was 4 × 10−6 Ω−1 cm−1. In the dark, unexpectedly high anodic currents were observed at positive potentials of 0.8 V (SCE) in 0.1 M NaOH. These currents are attributed to the existence of a high density of electron-hole recombination centers within the band-gap of ferric tungstate. When dimethyl viologen (DMV) was used as an electroactive compound in the electrolyte, the anodic photocurrents increased significantly. The oxidation of DMV is thus expected to compete with the electron-hole recombination process. Furthermore, the process of electron-hole recombination was also predicted from the shape of the photocurrent transients under interrupted illumination. These transients exhibited first-order relaxation effects in the region of the onset time of the photocurrents. The band-gap energy of Fe2WO6 was found to be about 1.5 eV and its flat-band potential in 0.1 M NaOH was about −0.3 V (SCE). The photoelectrochemical properties of ferric tungstate are explained according to the formalism of the band model of the semiconductor/electrolyte interface. SiO2/Sb2O3 (SiSb), having a specific surface area, S BET, of 788 m2 g−1, an average pore diameter of 1.9 nm and 4.7 wt% of Sb, was prepared by the sol-gel processing method. Meldola's blue (MeB), methylene blue (MB) and toluidine blue (TB) were immobilized on SiSb by an ion exchange reaction. The amounts of the dyes bonded to the substrate surface were 12.49, 14.26 and 22.78 μmol g−1 for MeB, MB and TB, respectively. These materials were used to modify carbon paste electrodes. The midpoint potentials (E m) of the immobilized dyes were −0.059, −0.17 and −0.18 V vs. SCE for SiSb/MeB, SiSb/MB and SiSb/TB modified carbon paste electrodes, respectively. A solution pH between 3 and 7 practically did not affect the midpoint potential of the immobilized dyes. The electrodes presented reproducible responses and were chemically stable under various oxidation-reduction cycles. Among the immobilized dyes, MeB was the most efficient to mediate the electron transfer for NADH oxidation in aqueous solution at pH 7. In this case, amperometric detection of NADH at an applied potential of 0 mV vs. SCE gives linear responses over the concentration range of 0.1–0.6 mmol L−1, with a detection limit of 7 μmol L−1.  相似文献
