基于微结构光纤的10 GHz超过1100信道的平坦超连续谱光源 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
报道了一种基于微结构光纤的宽带、平坦超连续谱(SC)光源。利用锁模半导体激光器产生的1.6ps,重复率为10GHz的光脉冲,通过一段80m的色散平坦高非线性微结构光纤(HNL-MF),在1.55μm波长区域产生了谱宽超过100nm的平坦超连续谱。实验中采用的微结构光纤的非线性系数约为11W-1·km-1。光纤具有小的正常色散和平坦的色散特性,在1550nm波长处,光纤的色散值约为-0.58ps·nm-1·km-1,而在1500~1650nm波长范围内,光纤的色散值变化小于1.5ps·nm-1·km-1。实验中获得的宽带、平坦超连续谱在1503~1593nm宽达90nm的波长范围内,具有±2.5dB的平坦度。该宽带、平坦超连续谱能同时提供波长间隔为10GHz,超过1100路的多波长载波信道。通过对光谱滤波,获得了速率为10Gbit/s的多波长脉冲序列。这样的超连续谱光源在波分复用(WDM)光通信系统、光波长变换等方面都有重要的应用。 相似文献

微结构光纤正常色散区飞秒激光脉冲传输光谱展宽的功率饱和效应 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
利用自制的微结构光纤进行了飞秒激光脉冲传输实验,输入激光脉冲的中心波长为800 nm,位于微结构光纤的正常色散区。随着输入激光脉冲的平均功率从220 mW逐渐增大到300 mW,输出光谱同时向长波和短波方向展宽,光谱中的反斯托克斯线对应的能量逐渐占据主导地位。平均功率达到280 mW时,光谱的展宽范围不再增大,显示出了一种功率饱和效应。在微结构光纤的正常色散区实现了波长从560~960 nm的20 dB展宽谱。 相似文献

为了获得微结构光纤的平坦色散特性,设计了一种圆形排列的微结构光纤,其包层由周期分布的空气孔构成,通过有限元数值分析法对该微结构光纤基模的色散特性进行了数值仿真,研究了色散和纤芯圆孔尺寸以及波长的关系。结果表明:内外空气孔间距和直径对微结构光纤的色散曲线都有影响,但内包层大孔间距和第一圈小空气孔的直径对色散曲线的走向起决定作用。在内圈空气孔直径为3.1μm,其他空气孔直径为1.0μm,内圈空气孔中心间距为5μm,其他空气孔中心间距为4μm时,光纤在1.3μm波长的色散为19.5ps/(nm·km),在1.6μm波长的色散为26.5ps/(nm·km),在1.3~1.6μm波长范围内,其色散值变化范围为7ps/(nm·km)。 相似文献

利用1.7 ps、中心波长为1565 nm和重复率为10 GHz光脉冲入射到80 m具有小正常色散的色散平坦高非线性微结构光纤(HNL-MF)中,在通信波段获得平坦展宽超过100 nm的超连续谱.除了在泵浦波长附近几nm波长范围内具有小的谱峰外,超连续谱在1 512~1 612 nm内具有±3 dB的平坦度.同时研究了不同泵浦波长情况下超连续谱产生的情形,由于不同泵浦波长处光纤的色散斜率不同,因此对超连续谱对称性产生一定的影响,色散斜率越小,产生的谱的对称性也越好. 相似文献

Wavelength conversion via four-wave mixing in an optical fiber is investigated under a pump intensity dependent phase-matching condition. To obtain a high conversion gain, we use a fiber with a small mode-field diameter (4.2 /spl mu/m) and a small dispersion slope (0.0307 ps/km/nm/sup 2/). When the signal wavelength is set so that it is 9.2 nm longer than the zero-dispersion wavelength of the fiber, we obtain a wavelength conversion gain of greater than 5 dB over a pump wavelength region of more than 8 nm. 相似文献

The pressure-dependent Sellmeier coefficients are essential to characterize the optical design parameters for the optical fiber communication systems under deep sea environmental conditions. These coefficients are calculated for densified silica glass for the first time to compute the pressure dependence of material dispersion at any wavelength from the ultraviolet (UV) to 1.71 μm. The zero dispersion wavelength λ0 (1.2725 μm at 0.1 106 N m -2) varies linearly with pressure, and dλ0/dP is 0.0027 nm/(106 N m-2). The calculated value is approximately one-third of the experimental value of 0.0076 nm/(106 N m-2) for a germanium-doped dispersion shifted fiber having λ0=1.5484 μm and -0.0070 nm/(106 N m-2) for a pure silica-core fiber cable having λ0 =1.2860 μm. Since, the refractive indexes are increased with pressure, the negative value of shift of the zero-dispersion wavelength is erroneous. The explanations are due to Ge-doping in silica glass, a possible temperature fluctuation of 0.16°C in the pressure-dependent measurement system of the zero dispersion wavelength and different experimental conditions of the silica glass and the optical fibers. This anomaly can also be attributed to the internal strain development at the core-cladding and fiber-jacketing boundaries due to pressure, which shows a larger experimental value. 为了提高宽带波长转换技术的响应速度,采用高非线性光子晶体光纤,设计了一种受激喇曼散射的可调谐全光宽带波长转换器。基于光纤中喇曼效应,对光子晶体光纤喇曼增益谱采取高斯曲线进行拟合,建立了喇曼波长转换器的理论模型,并进行了仿真分析,讨论了光纤长度对转换效率的影响。结果表明,在符合通信系统的条件下,实现了100nm转换带宽,波段为1487nm~1587nm,Q因子随探测光波长变化与喇曼增益谱走势相同,其波长转换质量最优处在喇曼增益系数最大处。该研究对未来光网络的波长转换器波长分配以及光纤长度的配置研究具有参考意义。 相似文献

We evaluate numerically and experimentally the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) threshold increase for a short, highly nonlinear GeO2-doped fiber by applying different temperature distributions along the fiber. The temperature coefficient for the Brillouin frequency downshift is measured to 1.2 MHz/°C. A threefold SBS threshold increase is obtained for a 100-m long highly nonlinear fiber with a 140°C temperature gradient. The proposed scheme is implemented in a wavelength converter based on fiber optical four-wave mixing (FWM). The SBS suppression scheme shows negligible influence on the FWM efficiency as well as the wavelength conversion bandwidth. Temperature-dependent Sellmeier coefficients and chromaticdispersions for some optical fiber glasses
Temperature-dependent Sellmeier coefficients are necessary to optimize optical design parameters of the optical fiber transmission system. These coefficients are calculated for fused silica (SiO2 ), aluminosilicate, and Vycor glasses for the first time to find the temperature dependence of chromatic dispersion at any wavelength from UV to 1.7 μm. The zero dispersion wavelength λ0 (1.273 μm for SiO2, 1.393 μm for aluminosilicate, and 1.265 μm for Vycor glasses at 26°C) varies linearly with temperature, and dλ0/dT is 0.03 nm/K for aluminosilicate and Vycor glasses, whereas for SiO2 it is 0.025 nm/K. This study interprets the recently observed experimental value of dλ0/dT for two dispersion shifted optical fibers; and the dominantly material origin of dλ0/dT is confirmed here as a fundamental property of the optical fiber glasses 相似文献
