This paper，through the analysis on data of meteorological elements during 1996－ 2008 from Tazhong weather station，combining the observations in field and the calculations，analyzed the characteristics of the blown sand environment for recent 10 years in this area. The results are as follow：The average particle size of surface sand is about 2.88φ (136μm) in Tazhong area，which belongs to fine sand and very fine sand;the wind speeds in Tazhong area assume the decreasing trend totally ,and the annual average wind speed is lower than 2.5 meters per second; And then the months average wind speed present single-peaks with maxima appearing from June to July;In desert hinterland, the wind direction and sand-moving wind direction was mainly easterly;The threshold velocity for transportation of sand of 2 meters hight is about 4.1 m·s-1;the yearly wind erosion climatic factor index is 28.3.However,the floating dust, yearly blowing-dust days present the increasing trend and yearly dust storm days present the decreasing trend in recent years.
