Study on evaluation of eco-water demand in Northwest China is very important on eco-system building.However,present process in this field is still on initiative stage,where there are a lot of problems and new challenges.This paper addresses the basic concepts on evaluation of eco-water demand.The basic research approaches were proposed that could be applied to reasonable water allocation,eco-environmental construction and sustainable development in Northwest China.
