Abstract: In order to breed a new balsam pear cultivar with early maturity, high yield, strong disease resistance and slight bitterness, 'Huainongqing No.1' was bred by crossing and separating the strong female line B19 as female parent and the inbred line B118 as male parent. The new cultivar was early maturity, green peel, long spindle shape, crisp and tender taste. Its average yield in the early stage was 1 126.2 kg per 667 m2, which was 25.5% higher than that of the control, and the average total yield was 2 740.8 kg per 667 m2, which was 26.3% higher than that of the control. 'Huainongqing No.1' was moderately resistant to powdery mildew and suitable for spring greenhouse cultivation in Jiangsu province. |
